The radioactive bottles are not the important part of this article. It is the private community groups exposing 'hot spots' that the J-Gov has been downplaying for too long. It is good to see the J-people calling the J-Gov's bluff. However, on the other hand, I know the community group checking radiation levels in Ibaraki is mostly foreigners and not Japanese.

Well, that ia a twist, isn't it? I can't wait to find out where these bottles came from, what they actually contained and how long they have been there. It should make for some interesting reading, but whether it goes in the fiction or non-fiction category is yet to be determined.
You have to wonder though, how would 'Naoki Average' come up with 4 bottles containing radioactive materials at such a high level?. What was in them and what did he or she do with it? How many more of these little deposits of radioactive bottles are hidden under floorboards throughout Tokyo? Were they left there deliberately? Mind boggling?

I voted 'yes'. Not so much for his innovations, but for the direct effect on society his innovations had, thus making him comparable with Thomas Edison. IMO.

And there it is folks! That one paragraph sums up Japanese politics extremely well. The country is run by wealthy bureaucrats with no idea of how to or intention of running the country. It is just a power game for themselves, hence Japan having 16 PMs in 15 years and the degrading economy and society can be directly linked to that time frame. For my money, Koizumi was the only 'real' PM Japan has had in the last 50 years.
Ozawa is just another rich Jiji out for personal gain and notoriety. Now, he has pulled the good old Japanese 'sympathy ploy'.

Are you an atheist if you believe in yourself? As did Steve Jobs. The bottom line of all religions was to believe in yourself.

Shouldn't he be charged with man slaughter? A 10 grand fine is hardly fitting for the crime of throwing a six year old kid hard enough to cause his brain to swell. I hope the bully feels proud of himself.

No doubt the contamination extends much further too. It is also disappointing that they know how dangerous this is to children and expectant mothers, but have only made it a voluntary evacuation order, thus giving them no grounds for compensation. Donkey's butts!
