But! Nuclear power is cheap and safe if it is maintained and the technology updated. The Fukushima disaster was a direct result of both TEPCO and the J-Gov's dithering response and lack of maitainence and updating the 40 year old plant. These people should be venting their anger at their own inactive and dithering government and the criminally negligent TEPCO.

The Stormsurf website shows this typhoon tracking right up the east coast. Hope the workers at Dai-Ichi have their tent battened down or it will end ip in Sendai. Gonna be quite a few million tokyoites heavily inconvenienced by this storm tomorrow arvo/evening.

If they wanna get spiritual they should all start praying the Tongans all get food poisoning before the match. This match will have a similar result to the match against the all blacks. An embarrassing trouncing!

Shin-Koiwa is a sleazy little town famous for its Chinese prostitute and so-called 'gentlemen's clubs'. Most of these suicides have been women (possibly all) and it makes me wonder if it is related to the seediness of the town.

Ah, the laments of the uninformed masses! Nuclear power is safe 'IF' it is maintained and updated. The Fukushima disaster is only a result of the stinginess and dithering of both TEPCO and the J-Gov. These people should be venting their anger at TEPCO and their own government for letting the Fukushima disaster happen. This plant was nearly 40 years old and TEPCO had been warned to update it, but the ignored the warnings and the J-Gov let them get away with it.

This kind of article does appear too often in the Japanese news, but should we blame the perpetrators or should we blame the society? There is very little in the way of social service support and unless these youngish parents have their own parents to fall back on they are virtually on their own. I think most foreign people are aware of the lack of emotional maturity in Japanese 20 somethings (and beyond). They are just products of their environment and a society of 130 million strangers.

The geriatric crime wave continues in Japan. It makes me wonder just what percentage of gerries have lost their marbles. I meet plenty that do have some 'reality issues'. My favorites are the zoomers that walk around the streets having a good old yarn with their imaginary friend/s. One dares not speak with them.

I couldn't agree more with the other people asking why they aren't sending them to NE Japan to rebuild the shattered lives of their own people? They are just p!ssing in the faces of the 100,000 people still displaced by the triple disaster of March 11. I fear there could be a new Prime Minister next week.

I've been making a point of only buying imported foods, especially meats. Thankfully, my local Maruetsu supermarket has a steady supply of Aussie beef.

The result was always gonna be the same it is only the score that is shocking, but not as bad as 1995 when they got done by 147 points.

Tonga will be a huge game against a huge pack. However, I can't see Japan getting past the islander refrigerators to take the game.

The cost of building these is huge and their efficiency is not great. The dutch have being trying to be wind energy sufficient for 40 odd years and are only at 40% with hundreds of turbines scattered in the countryside and in the ocean. This just seems like the J-pollies bending to public opinion and throwing money into the ocean. They are just replacing one expensive mistake with another. Geothermal energy is the future for Japan, but it is not as glamorous as 500 wind turbines scattered along the cost.

As for the fishermen's complaints: It would upset the professional fishermen greatly, but it would also create a large fish reserve, which the waters around Japan are sadly lacking in.

The cocktail, which has been on the market for approximately one year, is non-alcoholic and has zero calories,

Cocktail? How? A cocktail by definition contains alcohol: any of various short mixed drinks, consisting typically of gin, whiskey, rum, vodka, or brandy, with different admixtures, as vermouth, fruit juices, or flavorings, usually chilled and frequently sweetened.

    It's a bloody soft drink!!!
