Title and Contents of article at odds. The title implies Muslims worldwide condem the terrorist attack in Mumbai.

The article ends quoting a Muslim columnist observing that there is no popular condemnation of terrorism in the Muslim communities.

The earlier Muslims speaking against the violence were all inferably speaking to the WESTERN PRESS. If the condemnation appeared in the Muslim Press or was made by a Muslim cleric then the whole Muslims world wide condemn the violence claim would be closer to being established.

Gun ownership is part of the larger question of how far we are willing to let our politicians tell us how to live our lives.

Ultimately, if you see government as a big papa, you are probably fine with gun control. However if you see government as a necessary evil, and most politicians as unfit because of some combination of arrogance, corruption and/or ineptness, I'd say you are, or should be, for allowing people the right to own guns, because guns are ultimately the people's only veto power if a government grows too corrupt.

    Chill Disillusioned,

The chances of being offed by a psycho with a box cutter is probably substantially less than dying of cancer from the air you breath, or the chemicals in the air and water. Relax!

    Betzee,

Here in Shanghai which in my opinion is in many ways far more capitalistic than America, the average worker makes a smidgen over a dollar an hour. In New York, the lowest level unskilled manual worker is going to make over 32 bucks an hour. Long story short: New York's problem isn't the need of public works, or other government bail outs, but unions, onerous taxation, and stifling regulations.
