choiwaruoyaji All Americans should be carrying guns at all times... concealed handguns or preferably automatic rifles slung over the shoulder.

I personally prefer Strangerland idea, flamethrowers, more effective than guns at short distance, so provide better protection.

sensei258. Yet so many gays cite the same reason, saying they were that way since birth.

Can't you make the difference between your sexuality and your beliefs, don't you see that one of those is not a conscious choice ?!

So two men goin at it don't seem like animals?

Not more than male and female "goin at it" ... Seems pretty similar to me ...

Besides, I can't see this policy is necessary here. There aren't any gay people in Japan, anybody will tell you that. It's a foreign thing.

I can't figure out if you're serious or not ... If you're, you obviously have no clue about Japan.

MarkGAug. 21, 2015 - 10:08AM JST Climate change is fact. Human influenced climate change is not. I can prove the world is older than 6000 years. Can you prove human influenced climate change? Until you or anyone can its theory.

It's still a theory because the global climate system is way too chaotic and complex for humans to reproduce yet. But I believe that one has to fool himself to believe that pollution has not impact at all on such a chaotic system.

Japanese prisons are not American prisons.

I am really curious about the reality of Japanese prisons, I hear/read anything and everything about it ...

Couldn't agree more. This kind of questioning has been trendy years ago, however HR and big companies start to understand how counterproductive it is. This kind of questioning often comes from inexperienced or stuck in the past interviewers. Conversations, deep position discussion are way more productive for both parties.

Those rankings are really not ranking much, it's mostly based on the number of published papers and the budget ... Not all univ are research centers ....

Strangerland May. 08, 2015 - 04:31PM JST Yes, yes, I know this fraud and all of that. But.... she got away with it for 50 years!? Hats off to her.... I gotta agree. At this point, and at her age, cut off the payments and count it up to a mistake. Punishing her will do nothing.

My reading of the U.S. Constitution is that it guarantees freedom to individuals provided their actions do not infringe upon the freedom of other individuals. [...]. By claiming normality in their relationships homosexuals, and attempting to use the government to legally bless their unions, they hope to indoctrinate society to accept it as so. In this process they are affecting one of the freedoms most parents desire to have for their children. That is to have them educated with the understanding of homosexuality that they consider to be self evident.

What a fallacious argument ! It's rather impressive ... "Freedom is guaranteed to individuals, by getting married homosexuals affect my freedom ..."

But wait, for that transaction to be fulfilled, there has to be a counterpart that received, ordered and implemented the liberation of Sagawa...so ooooohh poor French people that freed the guy because money....right? About Sagawa not being arrested in Japan for the crime committed in France... maybe because it is a different country?

I think he has been sentenced in France to mental institution for life. But then Japan heavily requested to have him deported to Japan where he has been declared sane...

I find this whole issue rather bizarre given how comfortable the Japanese media in particular is with gay, transgendered and transsexual talento, etc.

Watching and having fun with (of?) "talento" playing "over the top" lgbt is very different from having the society accepting it as part of itself, which is very far from being done in Japan.

Jeff HuffmanFeb. 04, 2015 - 07:59AM JST One would assume that any city in a wealthy oil state under Sharia law would be pretty much crime free.

This is a wrong assumption if you're a woman. One can get kidnapped, raped, and thrown in the street without any police interest and be blamed for it. Therefore the real rape ratio is high and rarely officially reported. In the non extremely wealthy part of the town women are scared to walk alone or in little group outside.

Ludicrous, NO one bears the responsibility for this apparently insane woman, she and she alone bears the burden, not the child nor I or anyone else in America. The woman made a conscious decision to carry a firearm which I wouldn't do even if I had a concealed permit and with a child at least NOT near where the child could reach it.

Lucky the kid didn't shoot the guy behind in the queue...
