    Raising consumption tax on all products seem to be a bad idea.

    1. Already the cost of basic commodities is high in Japan compared to US. The J government can probably increase consumption tax on luxury products. If the consumption tax is increased for all products than I guess the sales of made in Japan products will go down and import will increase thus creating more economic problems.

    2. Cut down on the huge salaries and bonus enjoyed only by the top administration ppl or increase their tax..

    Japan is one of the richest countries in the world... Japan ranks in the in top 5 list of countries which buy luxury products .. Come on there shoukd be a better solution than troubling the middle class families,...

    Completely agree with Zichi, the future wars will be fought for water.

    In my house, my mom always had a strict rule that if water were served to you; you must drink the glass served fully and should not leave out even a drop.. and if we would waste water, she would say, remember those ppl who die because they didn't get a drop of water .. i am really thankful for the practice.

    An emergency kit is always good. I am a vegetarian and I find it hard to get canned foods or cup noodles in Japan. Even during the March 11 quake, I picked some Peanut Sandwiches from the convenient stores.. ... Any idea where you can find some canned vegetarian food?????

    This nuclear accident has got everybody paranoid. Just the level of paranoia is different .. Can't blame...why get it all the way from Aomori and then drop off the plan. Waste of tax payer's money.

    Personally I think Iran is not at fault. No proofs of nuclear weapons as of now. Can't get into war with a country just because they may have nuclear weapons or because they have the ability to build nuclear weapons. Don't want a war similar to that of Iraq war. I really can't imagine the trauma that has to be faced by children in either countries in case of war. Hope it doesn't get to that. My prayers.
