American political office by and large have been filled by people like Helms. These men have done more to slow progress in America than anything else, and to apologize or even justify their years of stupidity by attributing it to simply a way of thinking then that demanded their acquiescence is disturbing.

We all have to take responsibility for our actions and claver arguments that delineate some unique family attitude or neurosis is hardly worth listening to. I contend that the world is a much nicer place without Helms and his like minded friends.

English is a very difficult language to learn with over 8000 different sounds as opposed to Japanese with its poultry 110. That alone in addition to not having ready access to those with whom one can practice creates enormous challenges for learning.

The planet in requiem utters the sad and emotional monologue that emanates from the violin. It is a fervent call to arms, for all of us to take stock of the transforming conditions that may result in our collective doom. It is no laughing matter.

Skipthesong- People who own guns have an increased chance of being killed by a gun. You have just been lucky and that does run out one day.

This lone violinist will go down in history as one of the real heros of our time. 100 years from now it is the fanatic defenders of our battered eco system that will be held up as the savior of our kind. That they had the courage and the determination to stand up in the face of cheap shots and denials about the changes on our planet.

Drill away, ya right! The notion that we can drill our way out of the current crisis is idiotic. We need to start looking at alternative sources or we will certainly be revisiting this point in a few years. Moreover, the amount of oil to be delivered from off shore drilling would perhaps not come on line for a few years, and would only amount to a saving of perhaps 4 cents per gallon. Is it worth it!!

America's paranoia about Islam is at an all time high of which Obama is very much aware. Having a woman sitting behind him in head gear would only serve to fuel those fears. It is simply a matter of reading the political climate, which has been no making of his own and acting accordingly.

RedMeatKoolAid- Great Britain is a country that respects the rule of law and simply don't make them up as they go along. Their legal system does not permit any further detention of this individual and as such must set him free. Britain just don't see the merits or the legality of creating Gitmo style internment camps for the sake of addressing some inate paranoia about national security.

The Korean flight attendants are pretty easy on the eyes. It is just that when they reach a certain age they are virtually forced into voluntary retirement. I think Qantas would have to be the worst for service in my experience.

These Town Hall meetings may very well be the undoing of McCain. He claims that this is the forum in which he performs best, but what i have witnessed so far contradicts that notion, unless you regard lifeless, monotone, uninspiring, purely timed punch lines as great. If Obama can perform and I am sure he will McCain will come off looking ridiculous beaten in the forum that he claims he has ownership to. Be careful what you asked for you may just get it!

SuperLib wrote - "If Bush were really a terrorist they wouldn't be protesting him".

The debate on that issue is still going on. It could be that the reason for the protest may very well lend itself to that belief.

These town hall debates if and when they take place will be the perfect forum for the Illinois Senator. McCain will look every bit the man of the past that he is, bring it on!
