I would like it to have some sort of system so that it always points up. It shouldn't be too hard to do, I think... maybe just air pockets strategically placed would do it....or maybe it already does this, but it just isn't mentioned. I'm just imagining that I wouldn't like rolling over and over for days or weeks...

Practically speaking, how does one accurately test 1.5 million tons of debris for radioactivity?

Do a quick search for "Japan" and "salmonella" and you'll see that isn't true.
That said, nothing much will change, I think, except in Korean restaurants. Even there, this is likely to be accepted as a suggestion rather than a law, unless the restaurant owner has annoyed someone.

Interesting that they have known about this since June. Nice that they are sharing info, but a little more rapid release of data would promote a greater feeling of trust.

Is there some media plot to associate Clinton and the word, "outraged"?

I remember when it was really hard to get Western food in Japan, and National Azabu was one of the places you could get it. It was expensive, but it was so nice just to be able to find the stuff. It also made a nice trip, with a Mexican restaurant, as I recall, not so far away, and a nice park nearby. I wish them luck with the relaunch.

I'm thinking radiation will be gained when they stop in Fukushima to pick up a few tons at a time. It's right on the way. Iwate probably isn't actually that bad for radiation, especially the northern part, but I'm not confident that that is where all the waste will come from. Should I be more trusting?

So will Nagoya become the new capital city then? Or maybe Kyoto, out of a sense of history...

@namabiru4me I'm thinking about the 3G version for the Kindle features and as a way to check e-mail when I travel with no service plan. People tell me previous browsers are minimal, but this one seems better, and I wouldn't need anything great to do that in any case.

I wonder when the Kindle Fire will be available in Japan. It isn't so far.

I suggest bioremediation, using lined concrete pits, away from the ocean, for the remnants after the radiation is absorbed. This will still take practically forever, but I don't think there is a fast fix that won't wind up making another area contaminated.

Just observing, the black square is a mustache, not a tooth, similar to Hitler's. The two things at the side are vampire teeth. I agree that on the whole, the images don't look like Hitler, and it's a stretch to say the symbols are "reminiscent of the Nazis’ swastika banners." They look nothing like swastikas, though they are red and white.

I would go, but I'm such a poor singer. As for Obama, he's been a disappointment, but the people the Republicans are going to run are looney. There ARE better choices, but where ARE they, and why aren't they running?

Zichi, Yes, that's what I don't get. If this is the same problem as that shown on the diagram you posted on another thread (http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-wnYZwAgUwDA/Tnw17v2wz9I/AAAAAAAACFM/i0l_Do-ttRU/s1600/fukushimareactor1hydrogen.JPG), they said clearly the gas was hydrogen, so what is this about?

Oh okay, but I want a commission: http://www.ahurascientific.com/chemical-explosives-id/products/trudefenderftg/index.php
This supposedly identifies gases quickly and accurately, and is easy to operate. It looks expensive, though.
