The movies have become so boring that I can't watch them any longer. It's a good thing that there are still good books out there.

I find it a bit hard to believe that they felt that earthquake in Moscow when I didn't even feel anything in Hokkaido which is a mere 300 km away. I had to look up JMA otherwise I wouldn't even have known that there was an earthquake. I saw the swaying buildings in Moscow on the Tube but couldn't it have been that this was an another earthquake?

So, in other words, the only one who was right about this was Putin again. They should have supported the dictator right from the beginning; he would have gotten rid of those religious fanatics. Now everything has escalated and it will only become worse.

Yes, Turkish Airline is amazing! The food is really the best even on domestic flights in Turkey. The staff is also really friendly. I love flying Turkish Airlines, they always make me feel like a queen.

Yes, a great loss for the world indeed. Evo Morales's speech on TV even made me cry. The world needs more leaders like him who can take their stand. R.I.P.

I think the most important thing is to believe in something to get over PTSD. Rather than taking some anti-depressants prescribed by some psychiatrists which only make things worse in the end, it is probably better doing that 'exorcism'. These people need psychological help most of all to help them moving on. Only problem is there are hardly any psychologists in this country. Maybe something should be done about that, bring them in from abroad if you have to!

I am really saddened by his early death. He was a man I always respected for his courage and all the good things he did for Venezuela and the world. R.I.P.

This was the 2nd worst blizzard I have ever experienced up here. My whole house was shaking from the wind. There was no way I would have gone out in that weather. My deepest condolences to the victims' family.

We have space, more than enough, up here in Hokkaido. And Hokkaido has zillions of red traffic lights when there is no other car in sight. The sooner we get roundabouts here, the better!

Posted in: In places where traffic volume is low and securing land is easy, roundabouts can be effective.

Yes, especially when I want to buy whale meat and they sell me dolphin meat.

I never spend more than 2 hours in Costco but I always spend more than 15,000 Yen. So, no problem for me personally but, as a whole, I can't agree with that new policy. It will give Costco a bad image and I think it might be wiser for them not implementing it.

That meteor is really scary. I am only glad that nobody got seriously hurt or passed away. Poor Russians, it is so cold there and not having glass must be terrible.

    We should protect ourselves:

First: stock food for at least 4 weeks

Second: Stock drinking water for at least 8 weeks

Third: Install a meteorite-deflection device for only 99,999, - Yen (until stocks are exhausted)

Fouth: Cross your fingers that it misses you

Up here in Hokkaido, there is a park with tons of sculptures of naked women. Nobody ever complained. Maybe the problem stems from jealous men who could never look as handsome as David.

Yea, we had -5 on the Japanese scale in my area. I was already sleeping and running down the stairs. Because it was shaking so much, I fell down the stairs and hurt my back badly - it is all purple now. I also managed to twist my neck, so I am all patched up now. Ouch!! (So NHK, make it 11 people injured). Many objects fell down here and there and I have to clean up the house today. Thanks God the house is ok and I am alive but I am worried about aftershocks JMA announced that will happen for a week...
