I remember a meeting with the British Consul in Tokyo where she used the word 'sneaky' and 'Japanese' about 7 times in a 15 minute meeting. I think she was trying to tell me something.

You can, and I am not making this up, see unlicensed 'pirate weather girls' on YouTube. Basically Japanese girls having a lark online, but I wonder if the 'unlicensed pirate weather girl police' are hunting them down.

If he wanted a car that was reliable, cheap to repair and has competent servicing facilities he should a bought a Japanese car.

But he'd have smashed that one as well, but for other reasons.

My local Mos takes about 15 minuets to produce a hot dog and fries. It is barely acceptable in the evening, and totally unacceptable in the morning.

    Lift yer game Mos.

I guess it never occurs to them that people have just become sick and tired of their otherwise excellent product.

I go to McD's quite often because I know exactly what I will get and it is cheap, but at the back of my mind, as I walk through those golden arches, I'm thinking "Oh! not the clown sludge again!! when will a Taco Bell open up near here??"

Wow! 5.5 kg of hydro bud has a wholesale value of what?? Couple of hundred thousand (US$). Talk about a good day gone horribly wrong for those two budmeisters.

Epic fail unless the batteries can be switched out. An idle tuk-tuk makes no money. Most of the tuk-tuks you see on the road are owned by one owner/driver and driven by others in shifts or owned by fleets or whatever.

If it is one of these scenarios where it takes 2 hours to recharge to 80% then it won't work. And a range of 50kms?? really??

What will work is the $300 million loan. YeeeHaaaa. That'll be a solid 5 year party burning their way through that bundle.

The biggest news for me was that he is out walking the streets on bail for treatment of an unspecified illness?

Oh! Really?? A courtesy extended to all inmates, I'm sure.

Whatever bureaucrat rubber stamped that deal would be a good place to start investigating.

That is insane. The same people who caused the problem now want to steal (legally mandated robbery??)from the people who did not. I lived in Nigeria for several years. Nigerian banks used to steal from customers by crudely forging withdrawal receipts and then saying 'you can call the police if you like, but your account will be frozen during the legal proceedings' (years and years).

I am seeing little difference between the two and am thinking that the Nigerian Banks were at least honest about their thievery.

I have MASSIVE issues with the 'miracle' pine. They cut down the actual living tree, dried it out and inserted a carbon fiber mast through the centre and then replaced the needles (leaves) with plastic replicas.

Epic stupidity on an epically stupid scale. Why, you couldn't out stupid that idea with a team of highly paid stupidity consultants.

Be all like; "This IS stupid, but we can do something even stupider". But they couldn't. Because the 'miracle tree' is quite simply the stupidest use of tax money ever.

I have a house in Hokkaido and the snow needs to be removed. Fact of life. However, I hire a dude for JPY4,000 to climb up and remove it. Have to do it once a year. Usually.

I tried it one time and it was terrifying. Climbing up a narrow, vertical ladder and then hacking away at overhanging snowdrifts before you can get on top is Just not for me. It is, however, for the dude I hire to do that.

And, worth mentioning, if you are aged / infirm the local Govt. will send a heavily subsidized due round to do the job for you.

"Sorry if I am being exceptionally dumb, but how do you spend 20million yen on a dating site? "

First off; you're not the one being exceptionally dumb. That'd be the 20 mill. guy.

The site was a scam specifically designed to vacuum money out of the pockets of sad losers. To that end it did exceptionally well.

I do hope it is an easy switch out to standard batteries. Ironic about the passenger warning on L-ion batteries.

Personally; I love the jet. Friends who have flown on it love it even more. But, it uses a whole lot of untried technology and more worryingly it was the first Boeing to be built from components sourced globally.

A third or fourth generation Boeing worker who had just been laid off once said: "there is more to building a jet then just pure design, there is an element of generational learned know how that just makes them work better".

    Whoa!!

The 19-year-old son of a real local motorcycle policeman emerged as the chief suspect, but just five days after the robbery he was dead, having swallowed potassium cyanide that his father had bought.

    More information please.

If they didn't spend all their money on useless flying show-ponies like the F-22 or, even worse, the F-35b they might have some money left over for shiny new practical and relevant aircraft.

And, yes, drones are the future.
