Poor Captain Codardo! First forced by the company to run too close to rocks, then knocked into a lifeboat as he was heroically trying to save passengers. When will this mans luck change.

I've long held the theory that modern corporate structure too often promotes sociopaths over the sane. Merely because sociopaths tend to be the loudest and most devious in deflecting blame.

People forget that Japan was the No#2 economy in the world for 25 years. Only recently they were displaced by China which was having a bubble and has 10 times the population. So Japan is not in as bad a situation as some people would like to make out.

The Japanese Government may be hailed as zero-growth economic sustainability geniuses in the years to come.

When will this death wish end??

    20 years and counting......so maybe.......never!

Having dealt with Japanese management I can totally sympathise with Bhattal. I do note a few foreign heads rolling these days. Bhattal quit, but I do wonder if Mr. Olympus' and his weird situation has not given fuel to boardroom power freaks. It's always an easy sell to bad mouth the high profile minority when you want to advance yourself.

Are they going to be smart about it and only raise taxes on non-essential items?? (exclude childrens clothes, heating oil, education, housing and food)

I often reflect on how incredibly LUCKY Japan was to have bombed a (once) civilized country. Imagine how it would have turned out if they bombed a Republican ruled modern day America.

They have the laws on paper but absolutely no way of enforcing them.

A nuclear power station is really a big nuclear bomb kit in disguise. As they discovered back in the 60's. Once a country gets the basic technology and trains the engineers it's just a secret lab away from joining the nuclear club.

    I love this:

“Keeping the imperial family to a small number is not bad in light of national budget,” he told a news conference last month marking his 46th birthday. “Naturally, we need a certain number to maintain the imperial family as is.”

Sounds like a farmer talking about his livestock during a market slump.

Which, in this case, is about what it is.........

From my experience; Little Shacho Sans whose power is based not on skill or ability, but on semen not running down the crack o' their mamas ass are somewhat mercurial in their interpretation of agreements. I am predicting ze germans will win.

I've always found that the old fellers in charge have these enormous, towering egos which are incredibly fragile. They are like a delicate flower dipped in liquid nitrogen. One word, no matter how gentle, that goes against them and they shatter.

They really do need to take a chill pill and learn to take some criticism.

I was driving in a 30 km/h zone a while ago with a flashy light cop on my tail. So I kinda had to do the speedlimit..... It is DIFFICULT to drive at a steady 30 km/h in anything more modern then an ox cart!!! You shift out of 2nd gear and you're speeding.

it's an interesting situation: The USA is holding the Mother hostage, if her Family in Japan release the child to the Father in the USA they get their daughter back. If not, their Daughter rots in a US Jail for 10 years.

Back in the day we'd do this with a roll of duck-tape, a hacksaw and a Fed-Ex courier. Now it's all nice and legal like.

Kennedy tried that. Look what happened to him, and his brother. The US military budget eats some 43% of total tax revenue and personifies the ideal of being "too big to fail".
