I am curious why this is taking such a long time. Are they laying fresh new cable and shiny new pylons from start to finish? Or are they treating this like a patch job and getting it done ASAP??

Monkeyz: I could tell by your well thought out and well written reply that you were not a fattie. A fattie would think about it, get anxious and depressed, and then turn to the fridge for comfort. Not the keyboard like you my slender friend. Granted, being obese can be a function of genetics, medications, and hours spent being blasted by TV commercials. But, in many cases it is a function of poorly developed impulse control.

Oh sure! we're all going to be thinking clearly and logically when a bear suddenly attacks us in our own garden?

The problem with bears is that they are opportunistic feeders. If they see an old person or a young person, they will have a go. The problem is that not enough people are hunting them these days, so they are encroaching more and more on our territory. Yes, that's right greenies, OUR territory. We are not encroaching on theirs, they are encroaching on OURS.

There is a new stretch of road near my house, big, 4-lanes wide, smooth and 30km/h. A cop was behind me the other day so I felt compelled to drive 30km/h. It is DIFFICULT. You're constantly riding the brake and in 2nd gear.

Moot point though. They've started digging it up for whatever reason. So it's a construction zone now.

Printers manufacturers make ALL their money selling you overpriced refills. They are so expensive you'd swear they were made from unicorn blood.

Interesting factiod: The third party inks for refills are pretty much all the same. Even of the numbers don't match. It is SUCH a profitable business that big manufacturers pay third party ink producers to NOT make copies (matching cartridge numbers) of their ink. SO, if you don't mind a noticeable drop in quality, but make a lot of copies, just jam any damn ink in there and print away.

    Alf,

I would prefer the old days when perverted people like her would be dealt with severely. This growing trend of preversions disgusts us with decency.

Do I hear FAP FAP FAP in the background of that statement???

I believe it is a disgrace that a professional hot-dog eater can be wrongfully detained by the United States.

Don't take it too seriously. I am sure it was carefully staged by the ever capable Maggie James.

Get busted. It's a night in jail and lifetime of infamy (in the competitive hot dog eating world, at least)

Funny that: Trouble of peeling fruit being No#1.

I recently discovered that apples are a cheap supply of fruit @ ¥398 / 5 (of OK quality). But I had to overcome a childhood indoctrination of wasting as little as possible when peeling before I could enjoy them on a regular basis.

Remember childhood competitions to make the longest continuous apple peel?? Nagging Grannys???

Fun then. But, a HUGE deal breaker when you are deciding between a bag o' chips and an apple today.

Now I just hack the skin off with the nearest kitchen knife and dig in.

OVERCOME your childhood indoctrination and BE FREE.

Ah! Heartland. Love that bar. All you have to do is talk &%#t that you are a multi-bazillionaire and they are putty in your hands.

If they are shallow enough to only want a rich guy, I am shallow enough to pander to their fantasy.

90% of homeless have a mental disability of some sort. Their elevators just don't go to the top floor. Thus, they are prone to making ill advised decisions. (like taking shelter in a train tunnel)

    Sad.

    Way to go moonbeams.

3D, available now. right outside your front door. FREE!!

3D TV is a noble attempt, I'll give the Japanese manufacturers that. But not quite ready for prime time.

    The worst must be RyanAir.

Yas gets what yas pays for....

Most hated for me is JAL. Great planes, very efficient, lovely and clean and left me to freeze to death in Korea when the flight was cancelled due to weather. Late at night, Chingbong airport closed. No complementary hotel. GFY JAL.

Worst service. Air Egypt. EPIC bad service.

Some parking lot operators STILL automatically charge "big size vehicle" prices for foreign cars regardless of actual vehicle size. How is that not a soft trade barrier????

Now Toyota has dropped the ball and the Americans are going for the opportunity. Boo-frickity-hoo, Japan.

That is how the game gets played.
