I think it was the taxi associations that lobbied to close the "pedestrian paradise"s. Much better to have their cabs clogging the streets then happy people.
And what is it with those parking ticket parasites in green ticketing everyone but taxis???? They don't even bother to ask them to move. Try parking on the street even when you are sitting in your car, those green parasites will scan your plate and start to prep a ticket.

"In times of peace, the warlike man turns upon himself."
Shinichi is a frustrated warrior. He sees conflict where there is none, and creates conflict where none is required.
This state of perpetual conflict is the only thing that keeps him going. If you took it away from him, he would wither and die.

A rather blatant attempt at scaring up support for a massive public works spending spree.
By way of analogy: 4 years ago I bought a charm that wards off wild elephant attacks. I have not been attacked since, so it must work.

Aha, and this is where you fail as a Father, because 75% of japanese women DON'T leave the house looking like that. They leave the house with Ho-fashions tucked away in their bags and presto-change-o at the closest public commode. So to ensure your daughters continued chaste ways I suggest you open a small airport security desk in your genkan to ensure she is not smuggling Ho-fashion out of your home.
By the way, I have seen this presto-change-o deal happen in a restaurant. 3 demure school girls walk into the toilet and 10 minutes later 3 uber-skanks in mini-skirts and heels walked out.
Cool.

I had an Toyota MR2 years ago that had a sticker blathering on about being the "perfect sporty car for a youthful man in dandyism".
Can I send my invoice to Toyota? or do I have to chase down the Dandys for that one??

Tatami. Get rid of it.
It houses dust-mites by the BILLIONS. Causes asthma and excema in children. Is a haven for mold in humid climates. It is delicate and weak. You can't place anything on it heavier then a rice bowl. The tatami room in most homes is a giant waste of precious space.
It is a woven straw mat. Nothing more, nothing less. Worth noting that apes make beds in trees every night by weaving branches and leaves together.
Caves, keep the rain off your head, but you'll note we don't live in them anymore.
As for the cultural aspect. Head-hunting and cannibalism is a "culture" with some people. I don't see anyone supporting that!!!!

I don't really think that the mind-set of a Hostess will translate well into a care-giver.
Then again, the option of a "happy ending" after a sponge bath is appealing.
Still, I think it is a bad idea having predatory Hostess vampires taking care of the aged.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.
Couldn't help noticing that he had free access to kiddie-porn while in prison.
I guess if the plan is to kill him, there is no point in trying to reform the guy.

Standard Political Procedure:
1) APPEAR to do something. (the "what" is irrelevant, the point is APPEAR to be concerned)
2) Talk ENDLESSLY about it, appoint a special committee is public outrage is sufficient.
3) Dither, dither, blah, blah, blah.
End result is no result. But if called to task, you can claim you DID something.

The whole mental issue with flashers is rooted in their feelings of sexual inadequacy and powerlessness in the face of women. By flashing they experience power, as the general reaction is for the woman to scream and run away.
Flashers, being a sad lot for the most part, do not realize that it is not their mighty organ striking fear into womens hearts, but the simple fear that they are escaped mental patients.
The loser in this scenario was most likely upset at the fact that the woman reacted calmly and alerted authorities.
Sad, sad, sad.
