mmm...hereandthere has basically just called the entire American population stupid. Doesn't he know that all the USA's problems were caused by left-wing radicals forcing banks to lend to unqualified investors? Hehehe!!! Apparently the entire population was unqualified.
The USA's housing market is not "depressed", it is adjusting down to a rational level, after being intentionally and fraudulently pumped up by international racketeering groups known as "banks". The crime continues today, as two of the groups, or "gumi", known as the US government and the US Federal Reserve, hold a gun to the heads of the American and world economies demanding that they pay for the clean-up. This will allow the racketeers to keep all the money they paid themselves during the "good" times. Apparently, judging by the completely passive response by the sedated masses, the perfect crime.

Of course they will. As will any "Tea Party" candidates who manages to win. They all know the game, and anybody who goes rogue will be on a very short leash anyways.
The whole purpose of American politics is to ensure nothing ever gets changed or fixed. Just show business and the Tea Party is just part of the show.

@TimRussert- please explain exactly how "far left groups" are able to reduce the amount of money people give to charity.

Not much point arguing about the Tea Party. After November it will have served its obvious purpose and will just fade away.

Unbelievable that there are still millions of Americans out there who think things will improve if they choose banking/corporate stooge team A over banking/corporate stooge team B.
Only choice is about who will make things less worse.

An economy where banks do not go out of business when they lose their money is not an economy and is not capitalism. It is a welfare state and a crime zone.
There is no economic justification for keeping zombie banks alive whatsoever. France did and that is why they now have protests.

Actually raising the retirement age to 62 makes sense on its own as people are living longer, but that is not really what this is about. The question is why is the French government trying to do it in the first place.
The simple answer is when you have a financial crisis like we have been in everywhere since 2008 (I know, Canada and Australia have avoided it, but that is just smoke and mirrors) you have two choices. A) you save your economy and society and let the banks and corporations fall, or B) you save your banks and corporations and let your economy and society go down. But you can't save everybody. France chose "B", everybody chose "B". And when people figure out that that was the choice that was made, and why that choice was made (ie. the complete criminal corruption of the political system) it is all going to hit the fan.
This stuff in France now is just a warm-up.

There was a very similar accident at a school a while back, kid fell through the skylight and died. So this is not a one-off. I'm guessing plastic or reinforced glass is not used either in order to save on construction costs or for aesthetics.
Would be interesting to know how many of these skylight accidents have happened over the years.

Good luck to all of them with the rescue operations, and especially to the guys whose wives and girlfriends both showed up at the mine to be in contact with their loved one (assuming that is a true story and not an internet myth).
I suspect they will volunteer to be the last guys to go up in order to delay things as long as possible. I know I would.

Pretty over the top coverage of Kobayashi on Fuji TV today, though he doesn't even get a mention in this AP article. Like they were at different races.
But seventh was still a great drive, the guy is definitely a step up from the previous couple of Japanese drivers.

Agreed. The reason it is (so the theory goes) is to stop the production of hemp, which is a competitor to other more profitable businesses.
And the last thing the dealers want now is legalization.

This is getting beyond comical. The best word is pathos: "1. A quality, as of an experience or a work of art, that arouses feelings of pity, sympathy, tenderness, or sorrow. 2. The feeling, as of sympathy or pity, so aroused."
A real estate speculator and a TV talk show host. That is the answer??? And President "Did you actually believe that stuff I said in the campaign?" is going to govern from the "left"? This is getting worse by the day.
As somebody wrote last week, no empire in history has ever given it all way voluntarily. Until now.

You have to wonder about the stupidity of some cops. A Taser gun is something that makes the job much safer, so why would you abuse it? Sooner or later one of these incidents is going to result in the Tasers being taken away somewhere (if that hasn't already happened). Real bright.

Yes you are. I am not exonerating the enemy, I am accusing the US government of being up to no good.
The sane response to the WTC attacks would have been to treat it as a criminal matter and limit the scope to those involved, not to declare war against a tactic and basically issue an invitation. "Are you angry, disillusioned, and Muslim? Well we have a war for you!" But there was obviously a propaganda campaign against that way of doing it, led by Cheney, who attacked that way every chance he got. A wimpy, European way of doing things according to fearless "I am too busy to go to Vietnam" leader Cheney. So why did he do that? Because he is stupid? No way. Because they wanted a war obviously, and they got what they wanted. Maybe for a little longer than they planned though.
Problem is now the USA is so addicted to this war that they can't stop. If the "War on Terror" ended tomorrow, the US unemployment rate would go through the roof. And so maybe Simon Fox's crazy conspiracy theories aren't actually so crazy.

Nobody has commented on the idiocy of declaring a "war" and then being shocked that enemies turn up. You can't have a "war" without an enemy.
Be careful what you wish for, it might come true.

Agree with the 11:30 comment, that is some pretty tame hate speech. Looks more like some political games going on, judging from the info at the end of the article.

hehe - the rabbits are the money. And lots of people want your rabbits because theirs are dead or dieing. Not just in Ireland, so be careful all.

If you breed too many rabbits and get an over-population crisis and they start dieing, well then you cull the rabbits. And if the rabbit breeders go broke and all their rabbits die, so what? New rabbit breeders can take their place. You don't try to replace the dead rabbits of the people with lots of rabbits by taking rabbits from people with not so many rabbits. But that is exactly what they are doing in Ireland.
There are lots of arguments pro and con for government getting involved in subsidizing productive businesses. There are none for subsidizing a bank. The government has to cover the depositors and counter parties losses to keep the system from collapsing, but otherwise let them go under (as was done in Sweden in the 90's). The only reason money is being pumped into the Irish banks is because the banks have the political power to make that happen. The bastards are willing to take Ireland down to save their own butts, and it is not going to end with Ireland.

Good one. Yes, the candidate of "hope and change" who when he got into office continued every single policy of George W. Bush and changed nothing is clearly to blame for everything.
The current state of the economy is the fault of one Richard M. Nixon. In fact, the current state of everything is the fault of Richard Nixon. An economy built on fake money always ends badly. Always has, always will.
