kinda amazed at the number of people here who seem to think that if someone gets drunk & passes out its ok to assault/rape them, WTF!

Now assuming it happened the way its written above this goof shud be locked up for a long time, end of story.

And for christ sakes female students shudnt have to worry about the teachers attacking them, messed up, probably due to all the rape videos out there, clearly some j-guys think this is normal behavior

    Ishiwara,

As Tyler above & others have pointed out the EMPEROR WONT GO TO yasukuni..................clearly yasukuni is not appropriate for people wanting to go visit their relatives that died from the 1930s onwards.

There is another place Chidorifuji(sorry I think I have butchered the spelling) that seems more appropriate. The sad fact is back early last century yasukuni was hijacked & used to whip the nation into a frenzy, many worshipped there hoping to waltz through Asia & take over by brutal force, millions upon millions died(up to 30mil by some estimates) & many more millions who suffered horribbly at the hands of Japan, yasukuni is simply too tainted to ever fix, it will forever be a symbol of Japans rampage through the far east & Asia, Japan has no say in this, its already established, done, finished.

The more Japan just carries on it will never go away & this is severely affected/ing relations with its neighbours, & Japan just AINT WHAT SHE USED TO BE economically so other nations arent going to give Japan a pass on yasukuni & other issues like it got in the past because business took precedent, we are seeing this happen the last 5yrs or so, it will continue, Japan is going to have to get used to a new reality whether it likes it or not

Ishiwara, looks like Patrick H sunk your battleship!

You cant just select bits & bobs of that awful place you need to look at the whole thing & some of the types who love the place, it very clearly glorifies Japans brutal & savage habits of 1930-45 no question about it, & way too many politicians go there(which means they also have little or no qualms with what Japan did) & then there are the right wing nutjobs......

Also there are many ysukuni enshrined against their wills & they refuse to do anything, how wud you like to be enshrined with hitler, tojo & their ilk...............think about it.

I think the quote is pretty accurate as a description of whats around us all here, I dont think Pico is necessarily agreeing or not, I havent read his bizweek blurb. My only real point of disagreement is where he uses the word efficiency, unless he means most do nothing, thats pretty efficient, but as for dealing with things most Japanese are very slow if they want to deal at all.

I cant say if these ideas are buddhist or not as I dont know much about buddhism, the the suffering & doing little about it is a pretty common sight on these lsles.

Ivan, you kinda went on & expanded a tiny winy bit LOL but knocked a couple home runs imo!

Posted in: Japan is built, at some deep, invisible level, around the Buddhist law of the reality of suffering; my Japanese family and neighbors are not inclined to complain about circumstances so much as to deal, silently and efficiently, with the hands they’re dealt.

    its me

OK I will spell it out for you, there is no separation of church & state in Japan, they just pretend there is.

Its the same in a lot of places, like in the US, no presidential hopeful wud have hope in hell(sorry :) ) of getting elected if they werent a church going type & frequented them during elections etc

Not a fan of the Yasukuni Shrine, but Japan does guarantee freedom of "Religion" and "Speech" as well as "Separation of Church & State".

    Its me,

Separation of church & state................. yeah............but actually no! Whatever govts in power & bunches of the oppposition make regular appearances at this god forsaken plot, some even put on penguin suits. Although most PMs dont go there, except when they aint PM then bunches flock there off & on

While yasukuni isnt part of the state in reality it very much is & thats just another reason for Japans neighbours to get ticked off

exile, in order not to be seen as profiting from the Tohoku disaster you need to donate a hell of a lot more than proceeds from one song! How about 60-70% of the profit from this tour?

THAT wud be more like charity, between exile & smap they & their mgmt are making a killing on the back of Tohoku suffering.

I am hoping they are in fact donating more than from one song!

Simple, because anyone going to a place like yasukuni to get "reinvigorated" or whatever is not what this world needs, yasukuni is a nasty nasty place, there are numerous places much better than yasukuni, thats why edojins getting the negs, its a post thats doesnt defy why there are + or - that one is straight forward.

While the disaster tourism idea is interesting, I dont think the locals wud want to go along with that. Japanese I find like going overseas to see people & places but many places in Japan except those with LONG history of tourism dont like it when bunches of foreigners de-bus & start taking pictures etc. Especially where the tsunami has hit

Also with enough of old Japan still around I dont think it wud make sense to build an old japan as amusement park, unless TV/Film cud biz cud sustain such a set up, otherwise yr looking at another example like that place in Kyushu thats like Holland I think it is, that is a total disaster from a $$$ point of view

so what did they give the auditors, a cooked 2nd set of books????????????????/

I cant imagine any J-gov-auditor being too happy if they show up & there aint much to audit, I find yr story hard to believe because its easy for the tax authorities to check all bank accounts before they even knock on yr door, unless that company did everything in ca$h

what if it was a Japanese who lit the fire? They are plenty of locals that see yasukuni for what it really is!

Note I do not condone arson, but I have often dreamt that ysukuni was bulldozed & rpelaced by a parking lot.

As I have said for ages on jt accounting etc in Japan is a black hole, clearly japan inc & the govt have set up this whistle blower thing to do what its doing now & that is to DISCOURGAGE WHISTLE BLOWING!

Clearly one wud have to be willing to sacrifice everything & get nothing for it but a ton of trouble to be a whistle blower in japan. This country is rotten to the core, like we needed any more evidence. My bet is there are tons of olympus things out there & lots that are much bigger, but good luck digging the facts out of the black hole...........

Japan reall is a house of cards, be careful of a strong wind, if it happens a lot of us will go down with the a-holes who "run" Japan.

Japans debt is beyond insane, at some point its going to bust, the govt will default on its debt & sink itself as most debt is held in Japan, its the main reason this insanity continues, but at some point it will be too much.

And then it will be a much bigger test than 3/11 & it will cover the entire nation north-south & east-west, no one will be immune, not sure if I want to be a gaijin here when that happens

Daily Yomiuri Online 25th Dec. The girl said at first that she wanted to live in Japan. However, when she was told about the plea bargain, she understood her return to the United States would "save her mother," the lawyers said.

    vicosaka,

I too read this this morning & was thoroughly disgusted, a very clear illustration of the mother brainwashing her daughter, I hope the mother & her parents sincerely reflect & mend their evil ways.

Its disgusting when a parent brainwashes their children to hate the other parent! This cuts BOTH ways with the sexes!

So far this story looks to me like a VERY happy ending, hope it continues.

Japan, again you need to get your act together on this issue & do the right thing before the world has to ram it down your throat, I dont want to see that happen btw, but its a distinct possibility, so Japan watcha gonna do!
