Finally today the police issued a photo of 'kaishain' Yokotani.
Not someone I would like to encounter on a dark night.

This story is a few days old. Watching it on Japanese TV news the strange thing was that they never showed a photo of Yokotani. He (and his brother) are almost certainly yakuza. Previously he was caught with speed. The police reported that someone saw the car yesterday in Kishiwada, Oska.

Uh, no. North Korea was not testing the winds. No, they are not on their way to the North Korean death camps (not that I'm denying they exist). For those who are actually folowing the story and saw the pictures of the boat they arrived in it's clear they had no intention of coming near Japan.

Interestingly they said they had no idea that Kim Jong-il had died.

The couple said they just wanted to get rid of them. They do look suspicious.

Most people commenting here are fairly ignorant of what A Class criminals means.
"Class A" crimes were reserved for those who 'participated in a joint conspiracy to start and wage war' not for those guilty of personally carrying out atrocities - who were the Class B and C criminals.
Here's a newspaper article from 1947 which shows what Joseph Grew (US Ambassador to Japan from 1932-42) thought of three of the above fourteen.

About the figure of 61% of men without partners as opposed to 49% of women: The age group surveyed is 18-34. On the average women go for older men, more women aged 30 to 34 would be going out with guys aged 35 to 40 than the other way round. This will skew the figures. (From a man who has always had time for women a little older than himself).

Through most of history the tenno (Emperor) was a kind of sacred youth.
He would usually retire while still young, often only becoming powerful later in life.
It was only from Meiji (1868) that the tenno has had to stick it out to the end.
