zurcronium:israel gave up land it occupied to egypt when carter brokered the deal that won him a nobel peace prize. That deal is still holding.

Bang on, my fine friend.I was reading something the other day which made me really upset. It seems the Israeli settlers are calling their new imperialism land grab in the Occupied Territories 'the Obama Hilltop Project". Fools! I guess they need to take my lesson on the use and abuse of political speech.

Well, anyways, we all know the carte blanchers of the bush era are the ones TRULY responsible for the way israelis and Palestinians act or misbehave, unless said Palestinians or israelis make POSITIVE developments,in which case all credit and all kudos should go to the United Nations, whom the carte blanchers and sargies of the world just HATE!

Well, reading some of the commentary here I can feel that for many Cronkite was the Michael Jackson of broadcast news.Sadly,he will be missed. My condolences to the millions of Americans who watched him read the news every evening.I wish I could hold each of their hands and walk them through this difficult period.

Well, I think we need to admit that ALL religions have there extremists and that this could have happened anywhere.I have never been to Indonesia but as I have said many many times sometimes it's people who live outside of a country that can understand it the best.In this case I feel that the bombers were driven to take action, they were angered by another country's foreign policy.Yes, the Jemaah Islamiyah is a terrorist group but maybe if bush had gone after them after the Bali niteclub bombing instead of bunting on third down, skating around the basepath the complete wrong way and taking us into Iraq, well, maybe 9 more people would be alive in Indonesia, instead of dead.

moonbeams:Those offended by this need some self reflection.

    Yahtze!

I think it all boils down to republicans anger about certain events of last November. :>

Well, I just want to say I am opposed to ALL wars (EXCEPT class war) and that even though people may not like Al Qaeda we really can't judge them, especially if you supported the failed policies of bush, who was the worst president ever from the get-go,and couldn't even catch Osama Bin Laden and who started an illegal invasion based on lies and whose dwindling supporters here are just upset about last November's shelaking.

Like Mahatma Ghandi before me I KNOW that violence won't solve the problem. And clandestine assassination attempts are beyond the pale!

BeaverCleaver:So in a way, Malaysia is just like every other country.

Bingo!Your posts are incredibly unique, and at the same time they remind me of another contributor here. You tell it like it is,my fine friend.

I was relieved to see I'm not the only person who read the headline about religious oppression in Malaysia and immediately thought of America.

Well, anyways, the Muslim religion has gotten a bad rap these last few years(we all know why,and who's fault THAT is. Hint - he is an ex president whose few remaining supporters are dwindling here haahaha ha.)

I'm sure this will all blow over and cooler heads will prevail.

Well, let's hope this blows up in the faces of the Right wingers and the few remaining bush supporters here.Said supporters will TRY and blame Clinton or even Carter I'm sure but hey, logic never was there strong suit.

Anyway, we all know bush was the worst president ever, from the get-go,and this so-called counter terrorism program PROVES it.

I'm glad the right wing media also couldn't supress this story, since President Obama favourability rating is being manipulated recently by said right wingers who are just sore about the shelacking they took last November. They think I don't notice and won't remind them of it. Fools!

Anyway, deadeye dick should be in prison.

zurcronium:I wish you losers would make up your minds with Obama.

Bingo! You have a way with words. It's just too funny watching the wingers try to tear down Barack, who is the greatest president since Carter (actually, he is at least ten times greater, even if his term ended tomorrow)and who is continuing to amaze me by the day.The US economy is picking up and the president's retorhic really inspires many people, including my private students.Even though they can't completely understand what he says, they are moved and persuaded. That is what I call having game!

beaver cleaver:Oh, but they are not telling us. They are not giving us any indication whatsoever of the success of the program. Wonderful. Sounds very much like an American Gestapo. Just lovely.

Your posts are usually bang on, mon ami, but I am wondering about the ending to your last contribution.I for one HOPE you aren't saying that the administration of Obama is keeping secrets from us the way that bush did.I could never believe something like that.Sorry.

Well, methinks Obama will sweep this all away AND also close Guantanomo too. His fantastic campaign speeches about this very subject are STILL on my ipod.

The amazing political capital that Obama has will end these programs of surveillance against ordinary citizens. He passed an almost trillion dollar stimulus program to help correct the bush trainwreck economy that will be the final legacy of the worst president ever in US history, so closing Guantanomo and ending the CIA spying on people will be a piece of cake.Of course wingers will protest, but hey, logic never was their strong suit.

I guess the paranoid people in the government never learned that when you point a finger at someone, hey, guess what?, you have three of your own fingers pointing back at YOURSELF!

Well, anyways, we should all thank Obama for heroically getting this vital information out.Looks like bush's friends in certain high places couldn't keep this hidden forever, which they undoubtedly thought they could.

I still won't be transiting through American airports anytime soon though. The patriot act is still probably enforced by rednecks in LA and in New York and America is still at war against Muslims like the ones the patriot act specifically targeted, and I HATE war because war NEVER solved anything.I don't care if IGNORANT people try change my mind. That's just the way I roll, dammit!

SushiSake3: Oh, and let's not forget the possibly hundreds of thousands killed, many more injured and maimed, the 4.25 million who were uprooted and fled, and the effects that depleted uranium will have on their people and soil for decades to come thanks to U.S. ordinance.

Bang on, again, my fine friend. Your posting is simply fantastic, and the few remaining supporters here of the worst president ever, from the get-go (that would be bush, for certain FOOLS her) simply can NOT trump you,and so I am rolling around on the floor laughing at them, and my arse is coming off.

The invasion of Iraq was based on lies from the loser bush and his loser friends in Texas. In the end they couldn't even get the oil they wanted.Hahaha ha.

Well, anyways, Obama continues to amaze, but if things get worse in Iraq(which they WILL, and EVERYBODY knows it) it will still be bush's fault.

Good Donkey:He definitely deserves some R and R. He is the hardest working president in a long time.

Yahtze! Another excellent post from you my fine friend. It really is too funny watching the few remaining bush supporters here try and defend the worst president of all time, and one from the get-go,who is now in Texas eating his patriot fries. Haha.Well, I guess they just can't forget about their hero and focus on accepting the election results.Instead, they want Obama to FAIL!I can't believe it at times. Can you? Well, anyways, we all know Obama has taken France by storm and already the healing has began. By the way,the First Lady Michelle looked fabulous!

sushisake3:"I'm sure it's easy to say things like that when you're lying back comfortably in your padded armchair thousands of miles from the battle zone."

Double bingo!!Excellent posting from you,mon ami.I feel you are a kindred spirit here, and your posts help with the loneliness, which can be crushing, especially on week ends, even though this is the penultimate week day.

Way to keep after the warmongerers! And I am glad you didn't use LAYING instead of LYING!,a common mistake you probably correct YOUR students on at least once a week.

Afghanistan is a problem because bush, the worst president from the get-go ever, took his eye OFF the cue ball.

Yes, it really is too funny to see the few remaining bush loyalists here trying to defend the failed policies of the miserable failure, but then logic never really was their strong suit.As I roll around on the floor laughing, with my arse LITERALLY coming off, I think said loyalists will never understand that you and I can understand the USA better than most Americans(much of whom hardly have passports!), and of course better than the GOP-ists.

Well, we all know that Afghanistan will get better now that America has a true leader with high morals and eloquence, but if it all goes pear-shaped you can blame bush and the bush lovers of this world.

It's just too sad that unlike Ghandi and I they don't comprehend that war NEVER solves anything and it is harmful to birds and trees and other living things.

Well, I guess they are just part of the few remaining bush loyalists who actually MISS the worst president ever, from the get-go, and don7t realize that President Obama's brilliant plan to make himself the CEO of GM is a stroke of brilliance, and said stroke might even SAVE Japanese automakers(whose tv commercials played all during the WBC and Ichiro's absolutely disgusting antics) from a similar fate. Anyways, my friends, it is safe to say that if GM fails it will be bush's fault, and of course the LDP supported him, so really Japan has no one to blame and should have listened to foreigners like me who can often see Japan AND America even more clearly than citizens of said countries.

ClassWarUK:"Americans are so soppy and sentimental, Freedom Tower indeed, a childlike name which glady shall not be used"

Bang on, my fine friend. Some excellent posting there, and I like your use of modals! Well,it really is too funny to watch the few remaining bush loyalists here desperately throwing around the word "freedom" even though bush, who was the WORST president in history from the get-go, is religated to the pages of said history.

New flash, my American friends who live in a black and white world of American versus foreigner and probably are'nt even aware that the word foreigner is FOREIGN (it comes Latin! ha ha ) , New York is the center of world finance,HENCE the name WORLD trade center.

Well, anyways, I think we can all agree that One World Trade Center is the name that will make the warmongerers on BOTH sides stop and think about what I and Ghandi KNOW is true:war never solves anything.

Sushisake3:"I think Rush Limbaugh's Republicans are just jealous they are no longer in power and therefore can no longer bury their grandchildren and the U.S. in debt any further than the catastrophic extent they already have. :-)"

Bang on, my old friend, and more excellent posting from you!The metafore of burial is an excellent one, and it MUST hurt the rightists here. Just one thing, compadre, you don't need to capitalise the name of the talkshow host whose now the leader of the republican party.

It's really just too funny watching the few remaining righties here shoot themselves in their feet as they blindly follow their hero rush down the same hole that bush went down, which is fine since, well, we don't need them.

Geithner is a brilliant pick and his selection again show's Obama's utter brilliance. It's just too shameful that SOME Americans don't understand Obama is SAVING them from financial ruin, but hey, said Americans were never famous for their logic. They need to turn of the rush and pick up Obama's speeches, which are fabulous and astounding.

bush's tax cuts were doomed from the get-go, but as the stocks market shot up an astounding 174 points yesterday it is OBVIOUS that Obama's Stimulus Plan is working.

I admit that there is criticism from China and some other countries but the bottom line is it just reminds everyone how much The US was REALLY hated when bush was in office.

Well, anyways, things with the dwindling rightists just remain the same the more they change, and I am literally on the floor laughing, and my arse is coming off:)

buddha4brains:I am not surprised, the radical (or fundamentalist) left and right are two nuts in the same shell.

Absolutely bang on!Your postings are among the best here, they are a real breath of fresh air my friend, and they help with the loneliness too.

Anyways, we all know that the only reason Usama bin Laden is still on the loose is because bush, who was the worst president ever, from the get-go, LET him go AND flew his family members out of America.

I guess the few remaining rightists here, who can't even bother to EDUCATE themselves about the meaning of the term "jihad" can't HANDLE the truth.I have done many lessons on the media's stereotypization of Muslims,as I am sure you have.Keep up the good fight, compadre!

In a way though I feel that bin Laden has some valid points, but I won't go there because certain kiddies on this site have a black and white world.
