And the chinese government still hasn't gotten it into their thick skulls that you CAN'T CONTROL…
It seems no thread is complete without NetNinja's overly long, pointless, insane State of the Union…

Interesting, living in a place with national healthcare, I actually don't mind part of the taxes I pay going towards the hospital bills for those less fortunate, sure their might be lazy people but there are also the elderly, children, working poor and so on that deserve care that they couldn't pay for.

California is not a Democrat recipe but what happens when you let the average American voter vote on everything. Creating political enclaves and hype partisan politics.

The spanish flu(also h1n1) originated from an animal as well and long before factory farms existed. HIV came from monkey's that weren't grown in factory farms. More to the point, other than Mad-cow, none of the others are necessarily a result of farming practices.

It is the same as the WII vs PS2/XBOX. FPS(PS2/XBOX) are often not family/girlfriend friendly, games like Mario Kart and Mario party are often some of more lively game related fun my wife and I have when we invite friends over. Especially because Mario party is easily turned into a drinking game. That being said guys night usually involves a FPS or hockey.

There almost always has been a clash between the two. When one goes dark, the other goes enlightened. Muslims saved science and technology during the middle ages, when christian were burning books and herotics. Now it would seem the role is reversed.

That sounds like something that Palin would do.
Imposing sanctions on Iran is not that easy, Bush tried but because China and Russia have veto power as well as the US, only moderate sanctions were passed.

Why have an advertisement geared towards Japanese students on website that's largest demographic(it would seem) is foreigners living in Japan? If this is marketing practices that the Manchester Business School MBA teachs, then I wouldn't waste my money.

Something like this only saves the intelligence community time because someone else is now translating the messages for them. I wonder if al-Qaida has a stormfront equivalent, might be an interesting read.

It would be funny, if after staying in the water for a bit their skin was dyed purple. Then the one eyed one horned flying purple people eater would finally have something to eat.

If he wants to die of starvation then so be it. If he thinks he is going to get the death penalty because he is guilty, then I see no difference between starvation, hanging or the electric chair, dead is dead.

Free trade keeps cheap oil flowing into the US from it's neighbors, NAFTA obligates Mexico and Canada to sell thier oil to the US at below market value. I suppose the rest of world should just give the US their raw resources and not worry about lossing all those employed by value adding manufactoring. The US consumes why more raw materials then the actually have, so if you want isolationist trade practices, you would have to be willing to take a big hit in the average standard of living level.

I suppose then if the whole is just Japanese players creating excuses then they most have paid Dutch coach Bert Van Marwijk to say;
"The noisy vuvuzela trumpet-type instrument blown incessantly by fans during Confederations Cup matches should not be allowed in the stadiums, Dutch coach Bert Van Marwijk said."
They also must have paid Spanish midfielder Xabi Alonso to say;
“I find these vuvuzelas annoying. They don’t contribute to the atmosphere in the stadium. They should put a ban on them.”

Odd things like this happen why more often then they should. Tom Nissen (the guy who killed Brandon/Lisa Lambert and two others) meet and got married to a women will serving his life sentence. The was also the case Ricky Vazquez a drug-dealer on being tried for murder and one of the juror's started sending him "love" letters during the trial. Just goes to show that human nature isn't always as nice as people would like to think.

If you believe studies like those of Steven D. Levitt, then publicly paid for abortions makes economic sense.
Unwanted children born into poorer families have at least according to Levitt's studies, have a much higher propensity to commit crimes when the grow older then others. Therefore, if you do a net present value comparison, the cost of abortion is a lot less then cost of dealing future criminals. Wade vs Roe is cited by Levitts' as the cause of the decrease in crime in the US over the last three decades.
That would speaking from a purely economic sense of course, the metaphysical arguments are a lot less black and white but often end with one side trying to impose their beliefs on the other side(which rarely ever works).

Well in Canada, which technically has national health care, each individual province sets a lot of their own healthcare policies, so some provinces pay for all abortions and some pay for abortions on a case by case basis based on the essentialness of the procedure.
No contraceptives, no abortions, look at the Philippines and Africa and see how well following the Catholic Church's teaching did for them.

He is just another president to almost double the debt. In 8 years that Bush was in power the dedt went from $5.73 trillion to $10.7 trillion an increase $4.97 trillion or increase in debt of 87%. If Obama's deficits total $9.1 trillion, that would be an increase in debt of 85%. 87% and 85% are almost indentical, which just reinforces the fact that niether party has any real clue as to what they are doing and Obama hasn't changed anything about the way the government spends.

I was being facetious, perhaps I should have included [sarcasm][/sarcasm] but really now. Yes the markets may be up now but the other half of the W will come when inflation/interest rates start to rise. Obama aside both Democrats, Republicans and well a lot of the gerenal American public bare responsibility for the market crash and why anyone would vote for a Democrat or Republican is beyond me.
