Fundamental tenet of Economic theory is finite availability of goods, which will eventually turn into scarcity of goods, if the current Economic model isn't changed(Based current population growth and raw material depletion). When the economy picks up again, demand for oil will increase and the price of oil will go sky-high again. High oil prices will tigger another recession and if cycle isn't stopped the time period between recession will be less because of the depletion of oil reserves. The world needs to move away from growth economics and towards sustainable economics, or else there is going to be a lot of desperate people in world.
Personally, I plan on trying to live off the grid as much possible, and plan on pushing for a future government that will tell baby-boomers where to go, when they ask younger generations to pay their bills from years of their mismanagement.

Coming from one of the Kano sisters who claims that they haven't had any plastic surgery, they date foriegn movie stars, they play chess with a board of naked foriegn guys, the spend thier days driving around Tokyo picking up foriegn guys and on and on. Vanity insanity at it's best.

A slight but valid change in your sentence and you should be able to find a long enough list.
A list of events where the UK and France insisted on going their own way even though the ingenious people of the colonized(occupied) countries were telling them it was not a good idea or they were unwelcome guest.

Following that line of logic, every soldier/insurgent captured by the opposing force should be killed, correct? John McCain shouldn't even be a alive, he no doubt left a few grieving widow's in Vietnam.

A person can balance thier budget and still have debt. It's when a person's debt payments are greater than thier cash intake that people get into trouble and can no longer be said to have a balanced budget. It is called over leveraged or not living within your means. I think you may be misunderstanding what a balanced budget is.

You don't have to be a mathematician to work out over a five year period the population of minki whales would be reduced by 5,000 whales. In the following five years there would be 5,000 less whales to reproduce, yet Japan would take another 5,000 whales from the already diminished population.
That would be assuming that all minki whales give birth in the same year, don't have another baby for 5 years and all the non-sexually mature whales are hunted first. Bad logic.

They indirectly do, parts suppliers, fabricators, dye casters and so on build parts in America for both American and Japanese automakers. The trickle down effect of the bailout money will benefit Japanese automakers as well becuase a higher % of a Japanese car sold in America, is made in America then American Automakers.
I think bebert's #2 is right, I remember well driving down to California seeing a rather large guy driving in a pontiac firefly, the car was tilting to the side and it seemed that he keep his arm to the window to actually fit in the car.

42 Million/45 Million + ~100 million in security costs. No wonder AIG Executives thought it was ok to spend $440,000 of thier bailout money on a corporate getaway. Nero fiddling while Rome burns comes to mind. Partisan rhetoric aside, how can anyone be OK with spending that much on party/inauguration when their country's economy is still heading south? I suppose that since the inauguration was probably paid for from public debt, the party now, pay later(or default) mentality will keep going full steam ahead.
Obama could have instituted real change but saying times are hard and that American's all have to tighten thier belts and control thier spending. He could have backed up his words by reducing the costs of the inauguration.

Millions of America want a lot of things that they don't really need (refering here to the inauguration balls and not Obama), hence the whole financial crisis. If you think that America can afford lavish partying with the state of it's economy, then I would say you like and others are out of touch with reality. When you are deep in debt, like America and apparently most American's are, is it really prudent to have big parties? What kind of example is the president setting about fiscal management and more particularly fiscal restraint?
As for being a Bush a supporter, I will repeat what I posted in my last post "a concept that escaped the previous president; sound fiscal management." Does that sound like some a Bush supporter would say?

History is still being made, America is turning from "the" nation, to just another nation because of bottom to top fiscal mismanagement. One would have thought it would have been good for America, if the incoming president would have shown his fellow Americans a concept that escaped the previous president; sound fiscal management. Lavish parting is one of the first things people should cut out of thier budgets, when on the road to debt recovery.

Considering how many companies the last Republican president bailed out, how everyone blames everyone else for the economic downturn and how governmental/personal spending and debt had ballooned in the last 8 years, "personal" responsibility in America is as dead as the dodo. If the economy does poorly, people will blame Obama instead of the true root of the problem, the person in the mirror.

Not targetted at Obama directly but what you can learn from this election in general is that partisan politics makes you daft and what color of a person's skin is still far to important.

I am sorry to ask, but why is this a question for posters on JT? Would it not be better ask a Dietitian/Nutritionist this question and then REPORT the findings on JT?
Moving along; Diet soda often contains Aspartame and other artifical sweetners that can have adverse effects on your health, including heart disease, which can be fatal, once you're dead you can't gain any weight, so a possible answer is no you can't put on weight.
On the other hand, watch the episode of The Simpsons where Krusty tries to lose wieght.

It seems the Atheists in this case are slowly becoming like what some Atheists(possible including themselves) purport to be the most annoying feature of religious zealots; forcing people by any means possible in the loudest and most obnoxious fashion possible to "not believe"(believe) in what they do "not believe"(believe) in.

Is that model not "Extraordinary rendition"? Which is already being used and was created by the US?
He was suspected of plotting against the United States hence he was sent to the United States.
To be informed/see what information was retrieved from Afgan insurgents, prisoners from American/Afgan war, which Canada agree to assist America in. Why would Canada waste more money on a war that is even their's to begin with?

I didn't know Canada outsources torture, I believe they handed over a few potential terrorists(found on Canadian Soil) that had plotted against the US and the Army hands over Afgan insurgents. Besides, it sounds alot closer to "Extraordinary rendition" which I believe was idea created by Americans.
