Charisma Man the embodyment of the zero to hero element that exists in Japan. My annoyance with them never stemmed from the fact that I thought I was cooler or pretty, it was their inflated ego's (like the superman appearance of CM) and the condescending attitude that accompanied it. There were certian questions that almost always came up in conversations and my answers would always elicit the response of me being a blasphemer.
CM: Don't you think Japanese women are the most beautiful women in the world? Me: No, they're not any more or less beautiful then other women in world. CM: Whaaaaaaat, blasphemer! CM: Don't you hate how Japan only lets foreigners be English Teachers? Me: I'm not an English Teacher. CM: Lies!
The asinine conversations that seem to be repeated ad nauseum by CM types, are enough for them to deserve being satired.

A laugh goes a long way in making the world slightly happier place to live.
Gag toys always make great conversationally pieces, I've got a toy reindeer that poops smarties and a derriere pencil sharpener in my home office that the wife picked up for me from the Castro district. Do the items save the world, no not really, but does being a prude save the world?

If you have too many of any one animal in localized area, bad things happen. They consume an unsustainable amount of vegetation and they start to starve due to lack of food.

The government already receive all the information regarding executive compensation both from public and private, because it has to be reported as employment income on the executive's tax return and conversely as an expense on the companies business tax return. Should public have to release executive compensation information to the general public, yes they're publicly traded but ESO's and such are already reported in the notes to the financial statements, so if you know where to look that info is already there. Private companies shouldn't, it's between them and tax agents only.
Posted in: Do you think companies, including private ones, should be required by law to list the amount of compensation their executives receive?

If a person buys a gas station with a leaky holding tank, they are liable for the clean up of the gas. Dow Chemicals bought the factory knowing that it was polluted, they inherited the cost of the remaining clean-up.

Alone is an assumptive key word and not always a bad thing;
Knowing a few people who have been morbidly obese; simple arm/leg movements are all that is necessary to start a person on weight loss path(something Wii provides), going outside is not necessarily something they can do physically/mentally(range of motion/judgmental eyes). Alone is not always the case either, when we have guest over for dinner(night time), cards and board games are only so fun, tv watching is more of a solitaire active, playing the Wii is a lot of fun and some that normally enjoyed by both the guys and girls.

Since when is ramming boats, sinking, scuttling boats non-violent? If they're non-violent why did they try to sink the Faroese police boats with line rifles and flares?

Again Isreal doesn't own international waters, the challenge was not there yet. I find it disconcerting that commandos can drop on to a boat in international waters, when they weren't first fired upon. It sets a very dangerous precedent.

Invade the territorial waters, implies that they crossed of the border of international water border line into Isreal waters, which isn't the case. If Isreal had waited for the boat to cross into Isreali waters, then no problem, but dropping commando's on boat in international water, is attacking them without due cause.

If armed guys in masks repelled down from a helicopter onto my boat, in international waters, I would do whatever it takes to defend myself. Especially if I hadn't broken any international water way laws.

Are you saying OssanAmerica(if he is Japanese)is a corrupt Japanese offical/person who is running the "cause"? How his comments constitute anything other then his opinion is conjecture at best.
The rest of the world, really? (Note: Japan isn't the only nation who hunts whales).

I'm well aware of that but botbot said;
"The people duly elect a government. The government at least in theory represent the values of the people. That's why your going to court. That's democracy in action. Now a court is suppose to represent societies values. Society (wait for it, this is a clincher) is made up of people. Therein SamuraiBlue, people do influence the outcome of courts."
That is not what the international court is, it closer to what an Australian Court(which is why I assume that was what botbot was refering to). If you or botbot want to tell me which court s/he was talking about that would be much appreciated.
You mean like how the IWC allows Japan to engage in "scientific whaling".
The international laws related to the humanitarian treatment of the victims(human) of war? really?
Who's us? It's assumptive of you to predict the outcome of court case, unless you're a legal expert.

You cerntianly weren't talking about the international court refered to in the article, so the other logical assupmtion/logical prejudice of sorts to be made, would be an Australian court. If you could be so kind as point which court you were speaking about, because the one you were refering to is not how an international court works.

It's not an Australian Court, it's an International court. UN officals are not elected into thier positions, they are assigned their positions. Therefore the judges who preside over the case are not put there by elected officals (so they don't nessecary respent the will of people), also in the international court/community there are shockingly more then one society being represented(some of them aren't even democratic), with different societal values, so people don't necessarily influence the outcome of international courts.

When part of article claims "observe Japanese society and discover that angry confrontation, voice-raising and expletives are not considered acceptable negotiation techniques" Then saying Japanese do it too, is a valid point to argue.
I don't think most people are condoning the actions of the guy, I think a lot of people take point with be told watch ones behavior and conform to a non-existent convention. Had her argument been Angry Western Guy shouldn't have been yelling at wife because it's not nice to yell at people, the argument would have been OK. But her argument was you shouldn't yell at wife because you don't live the US or the UK but Japan, is not OK but bad example of moral relativism.

Hard to judge from the lack of information given in the story, did you witness the precursor events that lead up to Angry Western Guy getting angry? I know there is a want by some Angry Western Women(for lack of better wording) to label all Asian/Japanese girls as submissive, yes-girls but it's far from the truth. It is possible that she started in on him and he decided to yell back. Heated arguments happen, sometimes in public, you may never have seen it but I assure you I have seen more then a few Japanese couples get into it in public places(Perhaps you should observe Japanese society and see that Japan has uncouth people that don't mind airing their dirty in public, just like any other country). I am not condoning arguing in public but sometimes emotions boil over and get the better of a person(which may or may not have been the case), so do everyone a favor, step down off your high horse and stop with the holier than thou four letter expletive.

The law says that all that is needed lawful contact between a person and law enforcement, lawful contact doesn't imply that you had to commit a crime. You can be a witness to or a victim of a crime, you can ask a police what time it is, you can go through a police check stop, and so on, as an extra for SB1070 if you get picked in by someone in car or are seen gesturing with your head in such a way as to imply that you are soliciting for day labor work, both are allowable reason for lawful contact.
> The Los Angeles government is comprised of moron's who have driven the city into bankruptcy by continually spending money they don't have.
Yet their debt-per-capita is 23/52, there are a lot worse states then California when it come to indebtness.
