By my reckoning, that's 2-3 fires a day with at least 2-3 people a day killed therein. That's close on almost 2,000 people a year killed in carelessly caused household fires. That doesn't include industrial fires or other fire-related accidents. Could this be a national trend? Pyromaniacal fires?
