"The shuttle crew is made up of six Americans and one Japanese." But I'll bet a shiny new €uro that anyone watching Japanese TV will be led to believe that the "One Japanese" is the ONLY one up there, and he's heroically doing EVERYTHING himself! "Kibo-Hoshide" "Kibo-Hoshide" "Kibo-Hoshide" "Kibo-Hoshide" "Kibo-Hoshide" is all we'll hear until this mission is complete.

"the sensitive British nation?" Shouldn't that be "the now self governing Irish Province?"

Interesting, as the Holy Qu'ran has at least 30 verses in it about gender equality: http://www.qantara.de/webcom/showarticle.php/c-307/nr-19/i.html But, notably, both men and women are obliged to strive for a virtuous life and to prevent sins and evildoings ("amar ma'ruf nahi munkar"). Last I looked, killing innocents was not prescribed. I think they should ask Osama, http://whatreallyhappened.com/osamadead.html the dead guy, what HE thinks, if, of course, the organization http://whatreallyhappened.com/fakealqaeda.html exists at all!

In a nation without modern fire prevention standards and sprinkler systems, and a predominance of clutter of combustible materials on every possible surface in the home, candles are a potential menace, and should be saved for emergency use only. "

OK, let's hold the Bush Administration to the same high standards they for which they impeached Clinton. Lewinsky "did" Bill, and Bush "did" America, Iraq & Afghanistan, to name a few countries. So, who deserves impeachment more? Bill or Bush for his "4,000+" dead, many more permanently wounded and the disgrace and disrepute into whose quagmire America has been dragged on his watch? Scott boy, I doubt you've told us even the half of it!

Rather than singing his favourite "Bomb, bomb, bomb Iran" he might want to suggest that Christopher Hill et al replicate their diplomatic achievements, modest as they are, to Teheran, and save the world a lot of angst. If the US can talk to Crazy Kim, China and Russia, the only thing between them and a civilized discussion with Iran is the lack of political will.

If you happen to be on the Shinkansen, keep an eye out for the sprawl of new factories marked "EV" between Hamamatsu and Toyohashi stations, North side of the tracks. These guys are really gearing up.

Maria Carey is an interesting study in economic trends. Seems the more money she makes, the less clothes she wears. Hhmmmmm!

Sarge, I admire your patriotism, but, regrettably it is not an analytic patriotism. You can't just point and shoot your M-15 "'cos I got orders." IF you're a Sarge, you have a duty to THINK too. "Sarge's" are the backbone of the Army. "Al Qaeda" is not who you think it is, and regrettably, your belief system will be turned on its rear-end when you find out. Wake up! America's enemies are internal, and made to look external. Ryan Crocker & David Petraeus are pawns in the game. And if you're enlisted, I regret to tell you....so are Y O U! So, remember when you're on base, in the commisary, at the mess hall or even in the latrine, "loose lips sink ships." Yours! TRUST NO-ONE, EVER! (Me included!)

In my opinion, the U.S.S. Amerika could learn from many other advanced civilizations, and have One Election for All Positions on Fixed Days Once every Four Years, and save us ALL the endless mindless blathering drama. Once the POTUS is no longer the most powerfully positive person in the world, like say 10 years ago, this whole process should have press blackout worldwide. Enough of this bellybutton gazing. Who the HECK do y'all think you ARE? Life is what happens when U.S.S. Amerika thinks it's voting!

I wonder does Ambassador "Crock"er have hand in preventing the extradition of these members of "Al Qaeda"? I thought they were "close to defeat?" http://prisonplanet.com/articles/may2008/052308ciaprotects.htm

It is most regrettable that the Ambassador's name is "Crock"er, and that he really has no idea who "Al Qaeda" is. Hey Ryan, peruse this: http://whatreallyhappened.com/fakealqaeda.html

On a Friday evening at the start of Memorial Day weekend, when most people are desperately in need of some down time at the lake. McCain, the old fart, may not be alive (Dear God?) by Tuesday! Is the Oval Office wheelchair accessible?

The day that the "Black Van Men" are arrested is the day that Japan can legitimately claim it is a democracy.

I arrived (this time for the long term) in Japan in September 2001, on the first flight after 9/11 allowed out of US airspace. Gasoline, in my local Esso station, cost Yen 69 a litre on that day. I checked today and it was Yen 169 a litre. Cui bono? FOLLOW THE MONEY!
