Unfortunately the civilian leadership in most countries have unrealistic ideas of what the military can accomplish. It is THEY who should be held legally responsible for their own orders. Not the (99.9%) of honourable soldiers, sailors and airwo/men who are needlessly sent to do political dirtywork under the guise of a just cause. Iraq & Afghanistan are poignant cases in point.

Japan's financial disasters in the bubble came from "tobashi" accounting practices. Check Alex Kerr's "Dogs & Demons" for details. I'm not convinced much has changed. When I audited a group of "CGA's" recently for a European accreditation agency, not one of them had heard of "GAAP" and I am not inspired with great confidence! Suffice it to say I did not approve their eligibility for listing on the DAX or the Paris bourse!

So, the lack of electricity, water and basic survival infrastructure should be pre-empted to provide an independent avenue for political clarity for those who seek to exterminate the Palestinians, the women and children included, already dying by Israeli poisoning and starvation? To satisfy YOUR whims for Jeopardy-like answer? (Actually Israel's freedom of the press is to be commended. The USS of Amerika? I wonder.) Israel is NOT interested in peace. It is ONLY interested in the extermination of the Palestinians, and the annexation of 100% of their land. So far NOBODY has disproven that thesis to my satisfaction, or to many others around the world. This trip is Rice's 15th to the area with less than ZERO results. And objective history would seem to indicate that it is the case. Successive generations of prominent "israeli" leaders have confirmed as much.....do you disagree with them all? Are they all wrong, but YOU are right? http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/palestinians.html Your argument is not with me, but with Olmert, Netan"yahoo" and Barack! (Sharon too, if you can revive him!) The folks who support Israel have continually, thoughout history, declared israel's intent on genocide. Do you have information the world does not? Tell us now, and I'll nominate you for the Nobel prize myself!

And who shoots children en route to/from school just for target practice? Israel. And who shoots at ambulances? Israel. And who shells mothers and children while having breakfast in their homes? Israel. And who lets patients die at checkpoints, even while in childbirth and bleeding to death? Israel. And who keeps children in jail since their birth? Israel. And who commits genocide with American money and weapons? Israel!

Eliminate Israel = Eliminate radical Islamic terrorism. Israel's founders gave the names of it's lower class undesirables to Hitler to kill.....so "Which side kills its own when they can't get at their hated rival?" Israel! Sorry **super delegate ** Israel doesn't care about peace. Period." The evidence is there for the world to see. Rice can do/say/visit whatever she wants.....Israel is committed to genocide. Period. Go ahead, prove me wrong. Give the Palestinians their land back. Replant their olive groves and take down that wall. Fulfill the obligations that Israel has signed and get back to pre-67 borders. Until "israel" does that, it is THE pre-eminent terrorist nation, after the Yew Ess Aye bar none. Fulfill "israel's" 67+ UNSC resolutions against it, and after that (ONLY then) come back and tell me I'm wrong! The evidence speaks for itself. It can't be a law abiding state and not fulfill its lawful obligations.....tell that to Bibi!

I heard that large black vans with loudspeakers, Imperial Japanese Army flags and punch-permed drivers in black uniforms are available for hire.

When in a moment of extreme bordeom, I went to see "Diehard 3 With A Vengeance" in Umeda in Osaka, I was shouted at by the audience for laughing at all the jokes in English, while they hooted in joyous hilarity at "I see why Holly divorced you, you drunk!" "Yippy-Kay-Yeay- Mother****er!" just didn't translate either!

Romulus3 You just said a mouthful there! "Too much wild porn and no social skills." Given that toilets are there for the purposes of disposal of bodily wastes, this is erotic how? (Pepto Bismol, barf bag anyone?)

Any corporation which thinks it will do better by having a new logo is like the country (Japan) which thought that introducing new banknotes would spur the economy. The problem with unemployment and underemployment and lack of consumer activity is...(drum roll, trumpet fanfare!)...the lack of disposable cash in people's pockets! Caused by...(drum roll, trumpet fanfare!)...the bad economy. Built in structural faults! Bow, applause and farewell!

We have made all of the rules up. And we can change them too. The laws of Texas, properly understood, are very democratic. It's the loop-de-loos in power there, and in DC who twist them for their own ends. And folks, April 20 is fast approaching. Texas in particular, and the USA in general has a habit of showing us horror, murders, mass suicides etc. etc. to commemorate the birthday of everybody's favorite Austrian: Adolf Hitler. Last I looked the US Constitution provided for very clear separation of church (any church...not only christian) and the state. Freedom of religion means just that. Child endangerment is a different issue. So, "W" you still talkin' to Gawd? Who'd he tell you to bomb this time?

It's still lower than the 24% this site was reporting recently for mental illness among Japanese civilians. Amazing, PTSD troops are saner than the average Taro and Sakura here! Japan: The World's Largest Open Air Mental Institution! Sheeesh!

I actually thought this story was about an aging society. As I was reading through the headlines on this site on the train I realized, I was the only person out of 85 (that I can see) who didn't have gray hair. Scary!

"No good has ever come, nor will ever come of the Papacy and its laws. No greater scandal has there ever been, than that which has happened by the ungodly imposition of celibacy, and the prohibition of marriage for the clergy." Dr. Martin Luther, "To the Christian Nobility of the German Nation" 1521. Go Marty, Go!

Sorry for the upper case font, I can't get colors to work. I'm not shouting, just trying to add comments to the original.

"The meetings with Hamas, which Washington considers a terror organization, (THE INDEPENDENCE MOVEMENT IN THE FLEDGLING USA WAS ALSO CONSIDERED A TERRORIST MOVEMENT. AND JUST BECAUSE WASHINGTON SAYS A, B, OR C GROUP IS A TERRORIST DOESN'T MAKE IT SO. WASHINGTON IS SUPPORTING COUNTLESS TERRORISTS AROUND THE WORLD WHO ARE ATTACKING LEGITIMATE GOVERNMENTS, ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO THINK BUSH IS A MORON. CHAVEZ FOR EXAMPLE.) have drawn sharp criticism from Israeli and U.S. officials.

But Carter strongly defended the need to reach out to Hamas, which won Palestinian parliament elections in 2006. (AMERICA CANNOT BE SELECTIVE WHEN RESPECTING THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE. THE PALESTINIAN ELECTIONS PROBABLY WERE MORE LEGITIMATE THAN THE LAST 2 US PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS.)

“You can’t have an agreement that must involve certain parties, unless you talk to those parties to conclude the agreement,” Carter said in a speech Thursday at the American University in Cairo. “You have to involve Hamas ... They have to be involved in some way.” (BETTER TO HAVE THEM TALKING THAN SHOOTING)

He said that although “there is very strict restraint or prohibition” against any U.S. or Israel official speaking with Hamas ... I know there are some officials in the Israeli government who are quite willing to meet with Hamas and maybe that will happen in the near future.” (EVENTUALLY, TALKING IS BETTER THAN SHOOTING.)

Carter said he had requested from the Hamas leaders that they stop rocket attacks into Israel from Gaza, which have prompted deadly Israeli military assaults on the crowded Mediterranean coastal territory. Any “killings of civilians is an act of terrorism,” he said." (CAN'T GET ANY CLEARER THAN THAT.)

And, sorry Moderator-sama, as I sign off I must add: Zionists collaborated with Hitler to exterminate undesireable Jews in Europe, so the establishment of the so-called state of israel would be populated by only true-blue-blooded Jews. I rest my case, your honor.
