What the Korean couple did would be the same scenario as if it had been a Japanese couple. Their unawareness of what to do outside of their cocoon like life lives in Korea or as I mentioned if they were a Japanese couple would have been the same. Most Japanese and Koreans don't have the experience to deal with these types of events as do most foreigners who would say "lets get the hell out of here" and see what is going on. I am not saying what they did is wrong but if presented with a serious problem, you need to depend on yourselves and not go into a cocoon and call for help.

Itai desu. Wow, I hope he was out cold when that was done or if he was a real bastard then maybe not dependiong on whodunit. Was he married, in a relationship with a woman or man or a sacraficial lamb in an exotic cooking club he bought into without reading the members rules first?

Kim Jong Il was a bad apple. This guy was a nut case, destroyed his country and their population and lived high on the hog while his countrymen suffered. My fear is that the folks in the North will take a run at South Korea to get away and turn a very efficient and profitable South Korea into a welfare state much like the Mexicans have done to the USA.

My other fear is that since the USA needs another war to keep it's warfare based economy going, instead of Iran, they will now focus their efforts on North Korea which may be an easier target than Iran depending on what happens in the next few weeks.

If war breaks out between the USA and North Korea where am I going to get parts for my LG clothes dryer that I just bought. Maybe I should have bought a Maytag instead.

In any case, I am glad to hear that he died as the market for fine French cognac just got easier to purchase not to mention Cuban cigars and the harem of vestile virgins he kept.

This diversion of relief funds to the whaling industry is outrageous. There should be a full investigation of this and heads must roll. Japan's corporate and political corruption at it's best.

I don't get this. Her father was a dictator that may have personaly killed hundreds of people and ordered the deaths of tens of thousands of his countrymen whose deaths were never investigated and now she is parading around like her family is owed any favors. It is also interesting that her lawyer is named Kaufman which sounds very Jewish to me and why would a Jew be defending a Muslim. Me thinks he smells the money.

I will be at Fisherman's wharf to greet that "frog" when he arrives but does he know that passing the Farallon islands has the Pacific's largest white shark population enjoying seal dinners every day? Personally I think that being in salt water every day for that extended period of time will be problematic and he will get infections and quit early in the game. Peut-etre Il est foux?

It is a sad day when anyone famous that was loved by so many passes away but what about all the thousands of anonymous souls that passed away yesterday that we don't mourn because they did not invent something that all of us want to have, are they any less remarkable? Most of us don't realize that large companies like Apple have thousands of brainstormers and the iPad or iPhone may have not been the brainchild of Jobs but from a team of far thinking marketing geniuses but who gets the credit, the CEO of course.

Sad but totally preventable. Don't allow spectators and aircraft to be within a certain distance. The spectators at this even were literally right under the flight path of the aircraft so even if a bolt fals off a plane it's going to hit a spectator. I have loved aircraft all my life but I would never attend an air show because if you look around on a worldwide basis this type of accident is quite common so you have to be a nut job to sit below 65 year old rebuilt aircraft flying at 350+ miles per hour above the stands and are thinking that this is safe???

One of the problems is that the conversion to metric would be fantastically expensive and troublesome to impose. Just think of just all the road signs, kitchen tools, rulers, tape measures and other items that would have to be changed. Who wants a 127 cm tv when you can have a 50 inch wide screen. Metric values make stuff sound small and Americans like their stuff to sound big like Big MAC, Whopper. 1 pound burger. What would happen to sayings like "walk a mile in my shoes" which would have to be "walk 1.6 kilometers in my shoes".

Everything points to Casey murdering Caylee, her child. Who put Caylee's body in a bag and put duct tape over her mouth and for what purpose? Why did Casey party when she knew her daughter was missing, was it to blow off tension caused when she murdered her daughter? Why is she not being prosecuted for disposing of a body and only for lying to the police? This whole verdict is wrong and the jury was not paying attention to the details or just wanted to end the trial and go home.

The change was totally unneeded. It does not automatically fit on my 22 inch flat screen, why? The old version of Japan Today worked just fine like Microsoft 98 so why make the change unless you have graphic desiners and software engineers that are trying to look busy to save their jobs. Why do I need to spend my time trying to find out how the new look works, I have better things to do with my time than trying to figure out where to find stuff. All I want is news and not not a new puzzle to figure out. A big stupid turnoff with no benefits or am I missing something like the change from MS 98 to Millenium or XP (that worked fine until) they introduced Vista and that was a royal FU and now windows 7 that is being eclipsed by ??? when will all the tinkering end???

People like to find stuff in the same place that they saw it yesterday and not have to spend time digging around amd reorganizing their information patterns like news sources. My vote is a nay!

Hawkeye, the militants have not yet got hold of a Pakistani nuke which they would presumably love to drop on India or XYZ, some other convenient 'godless' target.

You could argue that the Pakistani payola has so far helped prevent this from happening.

(Relative peace being preferable to total anarchy?)

I prefer that the USA withdraw and all the middle eastern contries fight out their battles by themselves and the USA stay out of their conflicts.

It's time that the USA stop wasting their time and money on countries like Pakistan that offer what??? A haven to terrorists. The USA should remove all their military from the vast majority of the world and let them fend for themselves and protect it's own borders, drill oil at home and stop making the average American a pauper through wasteful governmental spending and sucking up to foreign lobbyist tactics to destabilize it's economy. Pakistani payola has not accomplished jack has it??

I think these type of personal visits by the Japanese royal family to devastated areas in Tohoku has and will help people cope during these trying times.

Honestly, what good are these islands for? They are desolate, have no natural resources, offer no use for tourism so why are Russia and Japan quabbling about them. I say send all of Japan's and Russia's criminals there to fight it out and cannabalize each other which is a much more useful purpose for those isolated islands.

I don't get all these talento having oddball names like BoA, 3B Lab, 2Bakka, Puffy etceteras. The use of strange sounding "Engrish" names or syllabels make japanese pop groups sound silly but I guess the fans don't know or care what is stupid or silly sounding to a native English speaker and thats why none of those groups will ever get attention outside of Japan and onto the international scene.

Their knees look odd. They also look like Japanese and I can tell Japanese, Korean and Chinese apart at 10 meters so they must have had some type of surgery, perhaps uncle kim jong ill in the head paid for it so they can infiltrate Japan's entertainment indusrty and bring home a few for the old man.
