I wonder if the Japanese driver was living in the USA or travelled from Japan with the tour group. My assumption would be that if he came from Japan with the group, he had jet lag and fell asleep while driving. The direction they was heading on Interstate 15 was North East slightly North of Cedar City so sun in the driver's eyes may not have been a factor here. During these tight economic times some companies skimp and use cheap transportation and drivers who may not be professional and push the limit which is a recipe for disaster. Sad story and ending.

Religions have put more distance between all peoples of the world than anything else. Just live your life without hurting anyone else and don't do bad stuff and thats enough without all the mumbo jumbo, pomp and ceremony that accompanies all these religions.

I have a problem with people wearing face covering clothing regardless of their reason. If you walk into a bank with a mask, the guards will grab you and call the cops so why can Mulsim women wear Burqua in secure environments? Today, I was in a DMV office while on vacation in the USA reinstating my vehicle and this guy walks in looking like an actor from Ali baba and the forty thieves movie, white headress, see-through over garments and shotrs with white half knee socks and slippers, WTF, I immediately looked for any large bulges on him like explosives and so did everyone one else. Save the costumes for prayer meetings and don't wear all that crap out on the street please!

Posted in: In some countries, there are moves to ban or restrict the wearing of religious clothing and symbols such as burqas, veils, head scarves, skullcaps, turbans and crucifixes in public places like schools, recreational facilities and so on. What’s your stance?

Seems like the law authories don't want to enforce the law and complain that they will be overworked??? Whose payroll are they on??? Are they saying that they can't do their regular job as well as ask people to show their proof of legal alien residence when they stop someone for some type of legal violation. Come on enough with this BS, go and do your job and shut up. There is so much bureaucracy in the US and the government workers can not seem to do anything because they are all union workers (sounds like communism to me) and then right wing talk show hosts say we are heading down the road to socialism or communism. Well folks, who do you think started all those unions in the first place??? Modern day unions protect people that are useless and can not do a good day's work and suck the money out of taxpayers who don't get their money's worth of service from all those clowns who work in government institutions. If the law enforceement authorities were true americans (legal US citizens) they would quit complaining and go do they darn jobs and let the results not speculation prove what the results will be down the road. They want easy street and cushy pensions when they retire. I know several law enforcement officers that are retired at 55, get 75% of their last payroll, take on a new job and laugh about how much money (six figures a year) they are pulling down. Why should we have to put up with illegals phony laws and politicians and have to put up with these BS unions as well. I say, "show me your id" or leave the USA and don't use our weak laws and crooked politicians to drain the money out of the USA so we become the same third world country as Mexico or some other Latin American country.

OOPs!, I forgot the post was about Obama sending 1200 national guard to protect the US/Mexico border. This is a BS political move that equates to a drop in the bucket. To really do it right, bring back all our troops in the middle east, line them up on the border and turn back the tide. Next increase ICE by about 100,000 employees and visit every restaurant, factory, hotel, auto body shop and Home Depot parking lot, round em up and ship them home. And for those bleeding hearts saying that we would be breaking up families, send the US born children of illegal aliens back with them because they will have no problem assimilating into the Mexican culture anyway.

To stop illegal immigration you need to severely penalize those that employ them. Dry up the money trail and shut down businesses that are found to be employing illegals. The cost to the infrastructure of the United States is huge with the US government turning a blind eye to the source of the problem which is the companies that recruit and employ illegal workers. You don't need law enforcement riding around and checking people's ID cards as much as you need ICE going to companies and checking the HR records and locking up the owners and freezing their assets and only then will you see the US/Mexico border crossings become a traffic jam as they all head back south.

It's time to go into North Korea and take out Kim "ill in the head" Jong and his group of lackeys. Enough is enough, the USA went into Iraq and took out another dictator (although on trumped up charges) but what the hey, we've got the evidence on this one and no one can call foul play here. North Korea's military will revolt and lay down their arms when we start air lifts dropping Big Macs and Ipad's all over their country.

Lets put the shoe on the other foot and test the new Arizona law. What if history was different and the United States was completely settled by the Spanish and later the Mexican's (Spanish and Indigenous Indians mixed) and other Latino populations and what is now Canada was all Caucasian (white) and they, the White Canadians, were sneaking across the border and taking the low paying jobs away from the Latinos. I guarantee that the Latino population of the United Latino States of America would detain those individuals and deport them. So tell me why the United States of America and it's individual States who by law can create and enforce their own laws should not be allowed to enforce it's laws and protect it's rights and citizens from foreign invasion by foreign criminals?

Terrible tragic accident. I always thought that the Japanese train stations are accidents waiting to happen. Since japanese local and Shinkansen trains stop exactly where the train's doors match the yellow rubberized markers on the platform, you can install rails with sliding openings that only open when the train is at a standstill and always are closed when no train is at that platform. The train station at Atami on the top of the Izu peninsula has a similar rail system because the platforms are very narrow and the express/nonstop bullet trains whiz through that station at high speed and the suction created will pull you off the platform onto the tracks. May that young girl RIP.

If you are in the USA legally, then you have rights and if your not, get out! If you oppose showing an id then try not showing your drivers license the next time the cops stop for speeding and see where it gets you. My Latino friends who are US born have no problem with this law and say it is only the trouble making illegals who are protesting and they should leave and stop making it bad for the rest of them.

The people that are whining about all of this are the illegals who are strongarming their legal latino brothers into voting against the politicians who support this new law. What is wrong with law enforcement officials enforcing the law? If a law is passed and it says that you need to show identification and that identification shows you are a legal resident in the United States, your fine. I think that the USA should go to a national identification card. If you combined social security cards, drivers licenses, resident alien cards, passports etceteras there would be a lot less bureaucracy (don't need all those government agencies just one to manage the information)and things would go a lot smoother for everyone.

Was it an accident or a murder cover up? What moron leaves a 4 year old home alone on any floor, first through 12th and goes shopping? Maybe she had enough and threw him off the balcony, went to the store and came home later, that is what a good detective would be checking out.

Outside of Japan, Calpis is marketed as Calpico which sounds a lot better. When I first visited Japan and was asked by a Japanese factory worker if I wanted to drinl what sounded like the urine of bovine animals I was shocked until I read the can and understood the Engrish problem. Calpis or Calpico is good stuff. Another funny Japanese popular drink is Pocari Sweat which I first thought was the sweat of a small South American mammal that resembles a large rodent. It too is pretty good but it is too bad that Japanese companies don't put a little more time into testing their Engrish product names outside of Japan before they settle on odd names. In the USA Toyota sells the Venza wagon which my J-wife says sounds like "benza" or toilet seat in Japanese. What is the Venza called in Japan?

My J-wife said that in Japan there was no recall over the sticking gas pedal issue because in Japan they used a different type of floor mat than overseas and have not had the unintended acceleration problem. Has anyone else heard this?

Bar hostesses are people one rank above fast food workers and one rank below prostitutes. They should be happy that they have a job because they are not qualified to perform normal work and if they don't like their work conditions, get out of the industry and go elsewhere.

The news just said that James Sikes, the Prius driver, is in bankruptcy and still owes Toyota about $19,000.00 for the Prius. He has also lost a boat back to the bank and other things too. Sounds like a faked near accident to try to cash in and save himself financially.
