LoveUSA: "they ( western men ) do not like challenges for their brains"

I believe you just insulted the intelligence of Japanese women.

And western men all in one go. While women don't like to be stereotyped, they sure pile it on western men seen with Japanese women...

marushka, please...in any country when something is popular everyone must have it...lower back tatoos, UGG boots, low-rise jeans, ring a bell? It makes me laugh when everyone in X country is dressed the same, for citizens of X to say that Japanese are copy cats.'They all dress the same' say a nation of young women in butt-crack jeans and young men in backwards baseball caps and baggy shirts with their pants falling off... :-D

The kawanoji tradition does have a lot to answer for I think.Pretty hard to get it on with snivelling, wriggling brat lying between you and your missus

There are other rooms in the house...

Yes I can go for a walk every day - and do. But I can't go water-skiing >every day, or save the world from a horde of Zombies, or be james Bond >every day.

Well said! At New Year's we have a family Wii bowling tournament, it's quite a lot of fun, and even 84-year-old MIL can participate. And, we all have hobbies outside the house, imagine! I lift weights, son does kendo, Hubby golfs, my brother runs and my SIL goes to yoga classes among other things. It's not 'either/or' in all cases...

but true love is when a man continues to be faithful to and love a woman even if she denies him sex.

What a definition of true love that is!

I have never ever felt that some other foreigner's behavior reflected on me at all. What a waste of energy.

Where do people on this site come up with this stuff?

If you were referring to my post, I was referring to the crazy "facts" about Japan that I see posted by various individuals as the 'truth' about Japan. I wonder where the hell they get their ideas.

just the tale of a man who pretended to be something he wasn’t.

No, a man whose whole persona was manufactured by the press and then a whole lot of people bought into it. Naive at best...Americans put sports stars on pedestals and then get angry when they fall off.

Come to your own conclusions about what? Whether or not cars have black boxes?

These articles are old, because this was when they began to be focused on in the press. I don't see much debate about them lately.

    Priuses have black boxes!

    Many cars do...from a 2004 article--

EDRs are certainly not new. Information gathered on black boxes — >typically everything from speed, brake pressure, seat belt use and air bag >deployment — has already been used in determining guilt in criminal and >civil cases across the country.

The guy next door to us built his house so he can see his Mercedes from his weight room, through sliding glass doors. A couple of condos in Kobe with a variety of floor plans gave customers on the first floor the option of a glass wall in the genkan looking through to closed garage space. Seems to be getting popular.

When you choose Japanese citizenship you have to promise to give up the other one. America allows dual citizenship, the Japanese government sees such kids as Japanese only.
