Well, no use speculating until the trial begins. So far it seems like they have a lot of evidence. I'm sure many hotels have security cameras in the halls to get a good grip on how the situation played out by observing how the maid went into the room and the condition of which she came out of the room. Incriminating evidence will either prove his innocence or guilt.

I don't think patriotism should be "taught" either. As with many countries history, when the good accomplishments of one's country encourages a citizen to feel some type of patriotic support then thats just fine, but teaching it out of intention isn't what I'd approve of. As an American there are many things that my country has accomplished that makes me proud to have been born here. There are also the current and past problems that I'm not so happy about that the US government (and historical situations) have created or continue to support. So patriotism comes naturally when a citizen has something they think is good that has come from their country.

I remember a long long time ago until the 90s I always had to stand and say the pledge of allegience in elementary school but I don't recall ever having to do so in middle school (junior high) on up.

Too bad there wasn't an "all of the above" choice. I mean honestly one doesn't have to use only one or the other if they can combine the total output from different resources.

@Tahoochi, actually the reason this was reported was most likely because it resulted in DEATH. Most DV cases go unreported in many countries unless its child abuse or murder, which in this case it is.

My simple explanation is that it's cheaper to stay at home than travel abroad. Thanks to all this economic instability and fluctuating prices I don't get to hold true to my self-promise of travelling to another country every year. Before I travelled more wisely last time I went to Japan I spent about $4,000 USD ($3,000 of which went to RT plane tickets alone) for about a 14 day stay. So until I start making enough moolah to blow each year for vacation then I'm not going to be using my passport for quite a while...

Well since I've been an anime/manga fan since I was 13 I've grown to understand Japanese ideals on humor, as well as my original growth of US styled humor. It does take a few hoops to jump through to make sure that a joke or situation translates well into another country.

For example I first saw Shrek 2 in Hong Kong and it had subtitles in Chinese. When we reached the scene where Puss n' boots was being arrested by the Knights and the "catnip" while Puss says "thats not mine" I was pretty surprised when the theater erupted with laughter because I didn't know if they would get the joke with American "drug" culture and the "Cops" TV show scenario but it seemed to go over well.

While I don't mind less US-centric films I'd prefer good storylines over-all. Just finished watching District 9 on DVD and the story was pretty good with a bit of dark humour but still it went over well with me even though it it has strong South African influences.

On another interesting note if we really really were to back track to land "rights" Palestine was actually created under the Roman empire, Isreal still before that and all peoples of that "land" were nothing but a group of arabic tribes. Isreal was attacked during 1967 after its creation and aquired land from defending itself from the surrounding hostile nations aquiring land from that. If the palestinians did not want to lose land they should not have attacked in the first place.

One should only resign if it was the CEO's choices and actions were the causes that led up to said crisis or means to handle it. Responsibility should only lie on the shoulders of the ones that made the bad choices that cause an accident or lack of support in damage control.

I don't see that as an excuse for the "moderates" silence in countries with free speech and secular states. I know that moderate and liberal muslims in Afghanistan are under threat though, but those in the UK,EU, and US sure are quiet about the abuse of extremists against other muslims as well.

Smells like they want some settlement money or compensation or something... thats not smart because the families that have been victimized by their father can turn right back around and demand that "compensation" right back from them. Those men had better get that scenario to sink in their heads.

Never heard of the show, I guess it must be on cable TV in the US. Only show I'm currently watching regularly is "Fringe" on local broadcasting in my state... wonder if Japan has picked it up since its kind of a replacement for X-files heh.

Same old same old. Islam gets along with no-one when it has majority rule and goes about its steady oppression of other beliefs. Its amazing that the copts and non-Islamic believers/athiests are still there although many are most likely hidden to avoid prosecution.

Ah you lost me when you said "what can some rockets (and mortars and suicide bombings) fired randomly harm anyone"...Its about as harmless as a mine field that children go and play in. Point is nobody should be shooting anything at anyone PERIOD. That is where Hamas lost their value by keeping up their rhetoric, thus Isreal keeps up its rhetoric. Its a circle that just keeps going round and round and round... Keep in mind Both sides are to blame. I do hope there will be a Palistinian state, but should those "harmless" attacks keep up afterwards it will be designated as an act of war on both sides should one attack another and will instigate another 1967 war.

I'm not that gullible Woody, this extremism you're talking about has been around for over 50 years, it's just that with the "information" age people know more of whats going around the world in an hour or less after something happens.

@WilliB if that were the case we'd have a LOT of presidents impeached well before Obama xD...

Well, now that we've gotten the main person we were supposed to be after in the first place, there is no need to be in either country anymore. Afghanistan doesn't need any more funds or training (they've had more than enough chance and continue to botch it) and Pakistan certainly will have to either deal with the infiltration of the extremist insurgents or lose. Now I'm with the band of people that say its time to bring our boys and girls home.
