@Stranger read my first 4:09 post. I'm pretty sure Usama did not raise his hands in surrender when a weapon was pointed at him and he was demanded to comply. If he had he most likely would not have been shot.

Police officers do the same thing, and only a fool would not comply when guns are being pointed at them and one is at a disadvantage. I happened to have been in such a situation and while I was surprised I stopped whatever I was doing because I noticed I was in a situation that I had no options.

There is a big difference in "arresting" a suspect, and "capturing" an enemy combatant.

Quite simply put Stranger thinks the military should function like a police department in a very military combat operation. There are some police aspects in a soldiers life, but they do not function as a law enforcement agency but as people that deal with WAR and militant combatants where certain national/state/local government laws do not apply.

In spite of how horrible the situation is, this may be a strong wake up call to the mexican people and their government to overhaul the system. The more they get a grip over corruption the more laws and ability to better enforce them with trustworthy officials they'll eventually have a better society and country to live in. Keep plugging at it Mr. Calderon and I wish you, your country, and the decent citizens the best.

This sounds like the basic muslim against muslim violence. I mean seriously they have absolutely nothing else better to do except keep each other uncomfortable because one interprets Islam differently than another, and someone is blaspheming the others interpretation of Islam (in their own opinion) and therefore they must kill the other. A self created system of twisted Islamic fundamentalist "martyrdom".

I personally think it would have been great if they were able to capture him alive, but I'm pretty sure he probably made some sudden movements that caused him to be shot. In the US when the police are responding to any type of emergency and they are told a person or persons where they are heading are armed and presumed dangerous, the suspects should not make any sudden or threatening movements when commanded to surrender.

There have been many police related shootings under these conditions in the US because they cannot tell if a person truly is armed or not until either the suspect/s does not resist by their own choice and surrenders (one doesn't put their hands in their pockets in these situations), or starts to go for a weapon and begin shooting/stabbing or what have you.

Now put a soldier in the same situation of a police officer in the US, except: a) they're not in the US they're in another country and under the conventions of WAR. b)The suspect needs to be apprehended in a small amount of time since the mission is secretive and being captured in their own well armed fortified hideout.

I'm with others in the fact I do not need to see the picture of OBL dead, yet at the same time one can not verify what happened during the mission unless they were there themselves.

@Madverts obviously we're ignoring Syria's bloody crackdown... Good thing the US isn't leading on this one though. I was tired of our country made to be the scapegoat by the the other NATO countries. Time for them to eat the bread they bake too.

@WilliB last time I checked dying in battle fighting for Islam was the best way for martyrdom in the fanatical Islamists eyes. Couldn't ask for a better way to go with that kind of ideology. He didn't evade the US for 10+ years because everyone hated him...

I'm kind of disappointed they did not capture him ALIVE. Because according to fanatical Islamists they'll escelate him to "martyr" now because he died "fighting for Islam" and thus it gives him a one way ticket straight to allah's heaven. There are many more people that liked this nutjob and will try to take his place or keep carrying out the jihadist dream of dying for Islam. Like I said, I really really wish they'd captured him alive so he wouldn't get the glorified Islamic death.

@afroengineer, can you prove that Gadafi isn't killing his own people? Obviously the "rebels" are claiming it themselves as well as non-fighting citizens. And either one of two things is true. Gadafi is telling the truth, or the rebels/opposing citizens are telling the truth. And from what we've seen from the past, Gadafi really doesn't have a great track record at telling the truth (in a non-rambling ranting way).

Wow talk about unprofessional sportsmanship. Heck I'd be happy enough to even rank in the top 3, could always end up with nothing.

While the Royal wedding is fun to watch, I'm not gonna spend my cash on some new luggage just because some British royalty buys the same brand xD. 1 more day until Prince Williams marries his betrothed.

@Molenir, that unfortunately is not a credit to Islam, but the credit to a good human being with an honourable soul. The teachings of Islam do not promote such actions at its core. There is a difference between Islam (the ideology) and muslims, which are people capable of making their own choices and what interpretation of Islam they are given.

Who is racially biased? Most muslims in France are not "darker skinned" Sure some muslims come from africa but many also come from arab/persian descent as well (the religion itself was founding in the middle east). You're the one making the statement and assumption that the French expect dark skinned people to be usually muslim. Hilarious.

"But one thing I would like to promote is the fact that I don't need to rejoice in the plight of an extreme minority in France to imagine pain in a larger minority over there to live a happy life. I don't need hate to be happy, and so, I hope some of you may learn to let go of yours one day. Logic and fairness suit me just fine."

I find it interesting you assume that I and many others have hate for muslims in general. Wrong, I have a strong distaste for ISLAM and its ideology that encourage people who adhere to such a religion to do harm to those that don't believe in Islam (and even those that are muslim and not muslim enough in others eyes).

So I will say yes I'm happy when I see when a country wakes up to the aspects of social/political religion that is pushing situations that abuse the "Logic and Fairness" of democratic "free" societies in order to oppress others into dhimmitude when it has the chance. If Islam didn't have hundreds of terrorist organizations (you don't have an organization with just a "small group" of malcontents), and didn't encourage the descrimination and persecution of others that do not believe in Islam at its core and still required women to wear face veils, I seriously doubt any of use would care.

With the hundreds of examples of how harmful this "religous" ideology is (definitely too long a list for me to put here) I'm surprised you can't figure it out (the germans had the same issue with nazism when it first started).

Some of the men who are muslim have moved to other countries will not allow even a native woman of that country to walk down the street without harrassing her because she is in a muslim community without a headscarf let alone a veil (a requirement in most Islamic countries even for visitors). I could go on but you're set in your ways and won't figure it out until you find yourself in a situation that wakes you up.

Took them centuries to get around to this? Well, royalty only gets in power because someone got an army together in the olden days and wielded the biggest stick in order to get control of certain regions.
