@Alhaape you should expand on that, not just christians, but buddists, agnostics, athiests, hindi, pagans etc. Not a single one of them has rabid extremist orginizations co-ordinating destruction and terrorist acts on an international scale. None of them have issued bounties on other peoples heads for feeling that their religious beliefs were offended. None of them have issued a request to the UN for an anti-blasphemy law. None of them have persecuted (I mean like imprison, or execute) others for not being of the same beliefs in this so called modern age.

Glad they caught this one alive. Now lets keep this up and hammer it into to their feeble little minds that their religious beliefs are not THE LAW of the world.

I'd love it if they hold to this. Personally I'd prefer SK and NK to finally become KOREA with the Northern government system dissipating into thin air. Forget the US in this, but maybe it will help them move forward instead of thinking the US is a total boogyman to keep an excuse for a really bad dictatorship.

I agree with Kuroyama and Saitao, best to work with a formal professional base of study then fine tune with the more modernized language and slang terms that you can find in the fields of Japanese entertainment.
playasia.com/ncsx.com/and himeyashop.com are all resources for finding import systems and games. With the exception of handhelds and PCs most systems have territory lock outs.

Being an avid gamer I don't mind learning my Japanese with games, but I don't really see it as a major source of learning. I prefer my good old reading and writing kanji book which I still have not finished. I have a few games that are kind of text heavy, but I still prefer my method of being able to not only read, but write/type the language.

Why is it that so many people have so much hope for China, but the government keeps show itself up like a crack witch doctor? This news is truly discouraging to me and I'm extremely sure this is just a poor man with a mental disability. Easily taken advantage of by anyone who thinks they can use another human beings disabity for their own gain.
No fair trial, I sincerely doubt he was allowed any defense or support at all from anyone. I hope with all my heart something gets done about this, but with China's lack of notifications and fact they most likely didn't bother to determine if he was sane enough to represent himself at trial. What a load of crock. Just another example as to why they should be in no position to be a leading world power. Disgusting.

Slight note, the Taliban is conidered a fanatically religious orginization that took control of Afghanistan and ran it according their perception of religious edicts. They are not considered the will behind all Afgani peoples. Pakistan doesn't percieve the Taliban as Afghanistan encroaching on their lands, they see them as a religiously fanatic group causing them more misery because they were pushed out of Afghanistan and now want to make a safe haven on Pakistans territory. I think its safe to say that not just the US wants the Taliban and other kinds of groups/tribes like these to be a non-entity in their lives.
The US didn't even bother with what was going on in Afghanistan until they were attacked by a religious orginization based in Afghanistan that the Taliban was in charge of at the time and it was the Taliban that didn't bother to control their actions. The only good news that has come out of this is the fact that it more widely known that such extremist orginizations do exist and are not just something that probably could have done a lot more damage if given more time without international awareness.

It is the result of sonar. Before the invention of sonar, it was rampant whaling, and of course maybe a few whale carcasses were beached that went out due to natural causes back in the day... 125 beached whales at one time is a bit much don't you think Molenir?

Actually flatearther what I think others that live in Japan would like to see is much better laws and enforcement of said laws.

Its not what I expect people to be fairly punished for, the justice system in this country is whats making that decision not me and enforcing the laws like they're supposed to. This system was put in place by the American people, to protect not just themselves, but their rights even to the extent when they do something wrong.
The majority of the time the law is pretty fair depending on the degree of the crime. You're the one thats making it sound like the justice system is too harsh and its the system of punishment that was the cause for this mans current behaviour and as you put it "Punish people so hard who did nothing or only very little wrong, then don't be surprised when they act like hardened criminals."
Doesn't sound like you want to find fault with the person that initiated the criminal acts, it sounds like you're trying to derail it and blame the consequences for his most recent criminal behaviour. It never did say anything in this article that he commited statutory rape in his previous offenses, it just said rape.

Ah, jeez. Sad man child... I'm amazed at how mature I became in the head at 16. This guy is 18 and he flips out because the girl rejected him. Well hopefully this news will spread around the school he goes to and he gets socially ostracized by all his fellow class mates.

Oh he is presumed innocent until proven guilty in this case thats always the rights he has. But it is for the DA and police department to build their case on him. So far the odds are stacked against him pretty hard. As for the sex offense he was penned for in 2001 he was still over between 20-21, which makes him no longer a minor, and considered responsible for his actions. A concept you seem to want to ignore. 2nd do you know for a fact that his previous offense was just a statutory rape case or considered sexual assault? Considering his sexual offense risk is listed as "High" not "low" or "medium" shows he did something pretty extreme the first time around, not that he went to prison and came out more hardcore. Simple fact for those who have brains. If you don't want to go to prison don't put yourself in a position to go there. He did, and there are always consequences for doing something wrong like this.

Grasping at straws there Numbskull. Registered sex offenses can range from what you have stated as minor offenses, to sexual assault, rape, etc. Depending on the offense the offender may or may not have to register every month or more. They may get dropped off the sexual offense registry after 3-6 months especially if it was minor.
The law enforcement here is actually enforced, and not some weak slap on the wrist case that you seem to expect like some parent that doesn't have enough will power to discipline their child. Thats usually reserved for minors under 18, and only if it doesn't involve murder, and intentional severe assault. Leggs is an adult and knows when he's doing something wrong.

Well, we weren't there so we can't argue if the 3 men were or were not what they are stated to be. No point in arguing this one out since we don't have any hard core proof of their innocence or guilt.

I'm pretty sure it would have stood out if he had them packed in unatural areas Dolphin. And if someones pockets are loaded up with chemicals I'm pretty sure that would be a red flag.
When I get on a flight the only thing in my pockets are my wallet, keys, and maybe my passport. In the carry on might be my laptop, PSP, an electric razor, and toothbrush and toothpaste, and an anti-persperant. And thats on a 21hr flight time with 2 transfers.
I'm guess the security was lax from Nigeria, and since this man was on transfer to another flight it was probably assumed that he was cleared and was not required to go through another security check in Amsterdam. Then the final flight from there to Detroit gave him enough time to do whatever he thought he could do to make a fire cracker with products in his carry on.

Sorry Juan, but the motives behind the majority of thier actions is going to keep pointing us in the same direction. While its good to not judge the whole by the actions of MANY lone rangers, wanna-bes, orginazations of religious fanatics, or whatever else you want to call them, they all have 1 single minded motivation for their actions. Islam is not able to be criticised or offended in any way, and all who defy this whether they are nations, people, or groups of people are usually put under duress if not worse because of it.
Btw, my uncle just happens to be muslim. And sadly the stuff coming out of his mouth shows that he's not quite right in the head either... unfortunately its looking pretty bright for rabid islamophobia around the globe.

Ok now this ruling is pathetic. 1 hour isn't going to make a difference to some nutjob terrorists upon landing. The main focus should be to make sure they don't get in the air in the first place. Somewhere along the way the international screening process went lax and this Nigerian guy got on the plane with some combustable materials and enough time to build it on the plane I gathering..
