What, they're not blocking the UK's embassy site either? What gives?

The worst problem here is that this "judgement" is being supported by a country's government based on religious edict.

Taking "blasphemy laws" into consideration means anyone can claim someone is a blasphemer no matter what they say since blasphemy is based on an individuals perception and self interpretation. Very sad times indeed.

Well its in the Islamic countries that made their own "Human Rights" charter and tried to pass this kind of thinking off on the rest of the UN. Thank goodness some countries realised it for what it was, a big step back to ancient times (we're talking 100BC here). Well, he should have realised being a muslim in an Islamic governed country means he doesn't have the rights he had in Australia. Not wise on his part.

@Elbuda he still got busted in a very strict country, its just that his lawyer probably was able to bribe the right people and thats rare. Mostly his age played a role in that too, cos I'm pretty sure Australia would have been cheesed if the boy was imprisoned for life or some other extreme situation. If he didn't go against their laws in the first place he would not have been in this situation period. But he's young and stupid as most teens usually don't think ahead before doing something. It just could have ended very nasty for him but luckily it didn't. I just hope he's wiser about travelling overseas now or will he repeat the same mistake in another country that would hang him high for such a thing regardless of age.

@Madverts I understand where you're coming from, but the "freedom of speech/expression" would be violated. It does not state however that you have to sit there and listen to what they're saying though right? You are free to turn them away, protest or debate against them, or my favorite method, the right "shut the hell up, and leave me out of your glory hole" or "Get the hell off my lawn" expressions hehe. Coercian is when they threaten you, and that you can take them to court for violating your rights for freedom of religion etc.

As I said Travis, what do you not understand. ITS THEIR COUNTRY and they will run it as THEY WISH whether you think its absurd or not. As for the other countries, same rule applies. I'm gathering from your "stance" you're a pro pot smoker for any recreational use and must think that everyone should do it. I will state this for you to think about. Every human being in the world has a different metabolism, and certain drugs can help or destroy that person based on their physiology. Just because it may work for one doesn't mean it will work for others. Like some people can't eat or even touch peanuts because it can kill them due to allergic reactions. Same goes with any drug MJ included. Please keep that in mind before you continue with "I think they should do it because I think everyone should do it" mentality.

I do think legalization can happen (in some countries that are more willing obviously) but I also think that it needs to be regulated just like tobacco and people should never have to be exposed to someone elses choices on their health. You don't want to smoke anything next to a person with bronchitis, asthma, allergies, or newborn children would you? Thats why laws are in place and some countries don't even want anything on their soil that can impare their citizens in certain ways. So keep in mind, your rights end at the end of your nose and should not be allowed to obstruct or affect the health of others. Keep that in mind.

Well hopefully the little nub has learned his lesson, don't take your contraband or buy contraband on foreign soil. If you don't know the consequences of the laws of the land you can lose your life over it.

@Travis&Elbuda seems you two forgot different countries have different laws and when in Rome do as the Romans do to avoid this "silliness". Every culture has things that are offensive to their society, so expecting them to act or think like you or some other society is really silly in itself.

Completely with Export and Madverts on this. Any party that has to lead with a banner of religious "ideology" at the helm to run the country is definitely not going to uphold anything but their own religious ideals. Without secularism there is no religous freedom in Egypt. DS does have a point. While many politicians may claim their Christian in the US you'd be surprised how many are "practicing" Christians. At least I can go and say w/e I want without being locked up or being mobbed by a bunch of religious fanatics and having a government that would stand by (if not support and encourage them) and do nothing which is what happens in Egypt and many Islamic government ran countries. Hell, even muslim women can't get justice when something wrong happens to them.

Seriously the US could start dropping those emmissions, but hey, the world runs on greed and we're not going to see any changes unless super green costs super cheap. I still have to applaud my city though since the days of pollution filled air has gone down in the last 25 years compared to what it used to be. To be able to get back to the days of prehistoric clean air would be very interesting.

Fine bodywork indeed (the car concept not the girl). I'm waiting for the auto drive function that lets you tell GPS where you want to go and the car takes you there while you can easily fall asleep at the wheel. Unless something really bad happens with the AI in self driving vehicles I'm pretty sure that auto accidents will drop to 5% or hopefully 0%. Drunk drivers will no longer be able to drive and their car can take them home possibly :). Keep on pushing out those 0 fossil fuel cars folks! The more they get worked on the better they'll become!

If I'm going to do shopping for electronics, I'm going to most likely do it online. Sure it may cost in S&H depending on how fast or slow I want it (it might even be free), but at least I won't have to wait in line or deal with misguided selfish people having shoppers rage.

I think Foxie was being sarcastic. Unfortunately I'm pretty sure the lack of womens rights, religious freedom, and more will be taken away in the end under any "government" rule that makes its main ideals based on nothing but religous text. The day when the women stop being placed in prison in Islamic governments because they actually tried to get justice for being raped is the day when Islam is on the path to real (not imaginary) reform. As it stands, Egypt will not be anything like Turkey or even Morrocco. Sorry Triumvere, you really don't know anything about Islam. If you knew anything about Mohammed you'd understand Islam is nothing like the other religions even Christianity and Judaism.

I did not have sexual relationships with that woman~baaaby baby baby OOOOH baby~ I dunno somehow that seems like it would make great lyrics for that song.

I don't think she'll be guilty of Statutory rape because it depends on her age when said baby was concieved. She could have been between 18-19... dunno how old the baby is, but this Yeater woman is pretty stupid if she can't figure out who the daddy is. Although I know many guys with a grudge (and maybe envy) against Bieber will be hoping the child is his. That would be a field day xD. But Yeater is definitely going to be known as a gold digging wench xD.

Another stupid tw4t giving Islam a bad name

Amazing what a single person, or in Islamic extremisms case international organizations and mass groups of fanatics are doing to give Islam a bad name. Sorry bro, its too many "individuals" giving Islam a bad name for my tastes.

So would you have preferred for his bombs to actually have succeeded with that kind of statement? Unfortunately for you this is actual proof that the FBI is... DOING ITS JOB. Preventing crimes before they happen is supposed to be a good thing for law enforcement agencies.

It would be cool if China opened up a bit more and became more trustworthy to all other nations and allow their people more freedoms especially free thinking and free speech/expression (As long as it doesn't involve guns or explosives xD). For China and the US to get along would be awsome, as diplomacy can open more doors than close. Believe it or not the US will not try to "invade" China, and hopefully China will realise how to better use its resources and enhance its abilities to become more stable and less repressive against its citizens and surrounding territories. Believe it or not many americans and I'm pretty sure a lot of other nationalities want to see China change into a much more wonderful country that people would want to get along with. This does give hope at least.
