Hmm, we have teen drama here in the US, but I've yet to see it to this extreme.

Well with the dollar being in such weak conditions, its no wonder. It will be time for lots of people to come visit the US and get things done. I was wondering why there were a lot more asians around than usual. Usually about 1 of every 30, now its 1 in every 10.

This is a prime example of a war crime. There are many good servicemen in uniform, but this should come as no surprise when a few either through PTSD or because some men become just plain evil and think they can get away with this in a war. This is the second small group that have been convicted of commiting murder and firing on un-armed civilians intentionally that has been reported. Things like this happen sadly, and nothing condones the actions of these men, but this has been going on as long as there are evil people thinking they can get away with certain things. Vietnam's Mai'lai massacre, in Iraq a few years ago 3-4 soldiers were arrested for firing on unarmed civilians as well (mostly attacking men), and now this.

I remember watching a documentary about this and one of the men convicted in Iraq stated that it was hard to not become trigger happy because of the way the "enemy" combatants mixed in with unarmed civilians and you couldn't tell they were a combatant until they fired on you, so in the end both him and the others that were guilty started shooting Iraqi men on sight. His was caused by battle stress. These guys on the other hand were doing it for "sport" when they started taking these so-called trophies, and thats a whole different kind of sickness.

As much as some people here like to point fingers and say, "If one is like this, then they all must be like this..." they need to keep in mind that all human beings are capable of such evil, no matter what country, civilization, or society they live in. The good news is that at least there are some soldiers that are willing to report such crimes when they see it happen. We only know this happened because some one brought it to everyone elses attention, and that is at least why they will be punished.

Would that provide solace to the 10s or 100s of thousands of Israelis who would be killed by the strike? And what about the 10s or 100s of thousands of innocent Iranians who would be killed in the counter-strike? Pretty callous comment ....

As callous as my comment was, its more REAL than not. It would be nice if we could safely and without a doubt say that Iran is 100% not trying to build nukes. Iran is the place making the decisions they do that create responses and actions from those around them. I have ideals too, its just that reality always wins out in the end no matter what I personally say or do.

a single nod from the US...why israel has to look for multiple nods from others especially Arab Countries?<

I think its because they're in very close quarters to each other, so with Isreals already bad standing with the other Arab countries it helps if they get approval instead of being blamed even more. Although I'm pretty sure even if Isreal is given the nod from the surrounding arab nations behind closed doors, they'll still be blamed and beaten as the scapegoat if Isreal does attack Iran to prevent them from having nuclear weapons.

True that Mentaiko2, that kid didn't know what he was getting into obviously. Like I said, teens and stupidity go hand in hand. Real world consequences don't always end up with a slap on the wrist.

Personally I say let Iran finish making their missiles. But once they're stupid enough to launch one at anyone without provocation they'll get taken out. While the US and other countries have nukes I've yet to see many of them brandish the big stick. Even Pakistan and India haven't been provoking the launch of these weapons, but I'm pretty sure when Iran gets them (if they haven't already) they'll start brandishing and threatening as much as possible trying to use nukes as leverage. Just have to wait and see how this turns out.

While I understand the weather condtions assisting the the cause of the accident I really would like to know what started the ignition for flames and explosions to go from car to car. We've had lots of pile ups and car accidents in the US but never any flaming crashes which spread fires and explosions like this. Are there safety measures imposed on car manufacturers to reduce the chances of rupturing gas tanks etc? I can understand if the cause of the fire was a truck carring flammable or hazardous material, but it should not have spread like this.

Very horrible, but its good to see there are always heros in everyday life willing to assist others with their own lives at stake.

While I'm no big fan of the "harmless" weed nor its abuse or "recreational" uses, its not addictive. But hey, its a lawyer (seemingly a good one), and its Indonesia. Its best to use any defense possible since this is quite a young teen found to have commited a crime in a harsh foriegn justice system... and teens are known for doing really stupid things. He should have saved it for when he got home in AU instead of trying to walk all over the globe with it considering when you're in another country, their laws work quite differently than the ones in his home nation.

Sadly while its nice to hear the head Moussaoui denounce it as criminal, one can still only take his words at face value. Unfortunately with Islam it is no problem for a muslim to lie to a non-muslim if it helps propagate the spread of Islam or submission of others to Islam. This has happened before where an Imam said, "We're with the citizens of the UK and won't tolerate this..." while behind closed doors praised the actions of the terrorists against the western societies. Not surprising that this happened, but I hate it when Islamic fundies refuse to deal with humour and satire. The Onion had a small article/cartoon that made fun of Mohammed, but I guess it went largely unnoticed for some reason.

All I can say is ouch 25 million times. Honestly though its enough to kill a person if a single large hive goes into a frenzy. I could go for a jar of unfiltered fresh honey right about now though.

@jonobugs I have been following this for quite a while and it boils down to this. The militants want their own land to run under an Islamic government, or so they claim. This method is happening in Thailand and India as well (in spite of the fact that the creation of Pakistan was supposed to be the "peaceful" resolution for India). Good old Islamic caliphates want to be in power again is pretty much the end plan.
