"Moderate" Islam will only be as moderate as it can be in their eyes. Government law and religious "law" should never be mixed, and sharia totally puts throws the baby out with the bathwater no matter how "moderate" they want it to be.

Well this is going to be fun to observe. Just have to wait for the current Libyans to start creating their laws then, with in the restrictions of shariah in place of course.
Johannes my friend you're woefully out in wonderland. I understand the German system and it ties in with the fact that anyone can practice their own religious beliefs as long as it does not conflict with Germany's guidlines and protection of human rights. The thing that you're forgetting is Libya is NOT Germany and as with many middle eastern and African countries being run under this "harmless" shariah law do not abide by the human rights protections you're taking for granted. We're just going to watch Libya go the way of many other Islamic governed countries where persecution and extremism will be commonplace in regards to religion. The proof will show in time.

I'm totally with Smith on this on. It is a terrible waste and the state should have known better than to let him keep those animals in the first place.

Wow this is the first time I've cracked up at a mod comment. Aside from that, this is no different than a Victoria's Secret promotion. My missus has better looking lingerie IMO, and no she's not standing over my shoulder xD.

@Jared Norman a lot of people smoke it in Colorado too even though they don't have a medicinal purpose license. And just because you prefer the smell, doesn't mean I have to. I could care less what people do to themselves only, just as long as I and others do not have to be affected by it. Smoking anything is a choice that an individual makes for themselves, but it never gives them the right to affect those around them with their personal choices. Same goes with alcohol and cigs although depending on the persons metabolism it can become addictive for them. Some people become addicted to alcohol and some become addicted to nicotine. People with respiratory illness will not want to be sitting next to anyone that is taking away their air.

What a waste of wormfood D:. I want my body to decompose normally in some soil so some other organisms can go about their business and keep the eco-system going xD. Might ask to be buried under a tree or something, I don't want anything of this body to go to waste D:

@wolfbiscuits while I agree with the other methods for those to take cannabis for medical reasons, its guaranteed that those that want it legalised for "recreation" are going to be burning it.

@Jarod Norman, I'm speaking from experience an observing those around me. My question is, why should I have to smoke it with whoever is smoking what? You wouldn't like it if someone sat next to you continually farting would you? My right to breath fresh air is a necessity for most living beings on this planet. All smoke carries carbon monoxide and carcinogens no matter how you want to paint it. If it were a vapor it would be a different story. I and many other people would prefer not to be downwind of someone smoking anything.

Wow...I agree this is out of the usual pedobear guy field. Now we have pedocougar or pedocat to add I guess. Well, I'm sure female pedophiles have been around for a while, but its still a shock to me. Scary you can't trust your children around anyone these days.

Legalize it, but what many here have missed is that it still causes 2nd hand smoke. I live and have grown up in a neighborhood where people are smoking both. I can't breath and heaven forbid should I open my window. A lot of these "harmless" mj smokers in my neighborhood have kids and they're not adverse to smoking it around their children while their children are walking around with glazed eyes. As much as the pros want to say it doensn't affect anyone outside of the smoker, it doesn't. At least with alcohol a person is only dangerous when they get behind the wheel.
Another issue is that drugs no matter what kind affect different people in different ways. Metabolism plays into part here and I for one can't stand the stench of the stuff and it does affect me in adverse ways (I become more irritable and my teeth get on edge and sensitive) and I don't even smoke it. So keep in mind, just because it works for some people doesn't mean it will work for others. Just like there are mean drunks and quiet drunks, its because it affects the brain differently.
Let it be legalised, but it should be treated with the same restrictions as tobacco with the addition that it does affect the way the brain functions so it does require more legislation than tobacco. I'm sure that many business districts don't want their employees getting high on the job so people should only "entertain" themselves with it on their own time in their own house (not around their children ofc), or at an mj bar.

Well, the women had better start getting used to not getting their hands on the funds the guy is working for. Times are a changing. With my current direct deposit amount plus auto-pay on bills And my pre-determined budget for utilities and food and the rest of the money goes into savings there really is no reason for me to hand over my paycheck for the missus to scrutinize. As long as I do my "duty" and adhere to my responsibilties as a provider for the household thats all there is to it. But then again its a situation that Japanese society has built up on its own.

The items that the US produces that people buy. Beef, pork, grains, fruits & veggies, oil, gas, metals, technology, software, hardware, vehicles, clothing... and a lot more. While the quality has gone down with some objects (due to corporate greed), many things are still of high quality. China only uses cheap labor to put items together which is also due to US corporate and stockholder greed. Tell me one product that China produces on its own that has real quality and they don't try to cut corners on.

Depends on if the Russians like him or not in the end though. From the rumours I hear, the Russians love him and want him in office. All leaders are in charge of putting their own country first, its just that Putin has shown how much he's willing to put the screws to other countries in order to take care of his own. Sure he's not the only one thats done this, its just that the system in Russia is appearing more and more fixed for a sneaky dictatorship than and democracy for Russia.

@willib, the issue here is the man is being persecuted for talking smack about them while he was in the US as well as the fact he was and still is a US citizen and is protected as a US citizen under US laws when he commited his "offense". If he was sitting around in Thailand talking smack about the "royal" family then I could understand, but he wasn't. IMO a person can't be charged for drug smuggling in Thailand if they're smuggling drugs from Canada to the US. This is exactly whats happening. Thailand is violating his rights that he used when he was in the US and coming back to him for it since apparantly they're being that nosy about his pov.
