    Wow, seems like the whole world is getting increasingly nationalistic. I guess this is one of the effects of an increasingly globalized world. I wonder if we humans are strong enough to make it work? I have my doubts.

    I know from experience that some people don't like the fact that the fight for gay marriage is often seen as the second civil rights movement. Want to get an old southern Black person pissed off really fast? Well, this is the way to do it. I guess it can be explained as the difference between who you are and what you are.

    Does anyone know when voting on this issue is going to take place? This is gonna be a historical event no matter which way it goes.

    @Texas Aggie

    What does that have to do with these guys basically getting a pardon before anyone tries to seek criminal charges against them? Not a thing. I personally hate the fact that some are trying to seek criminal charges against Bush. Look, i didn't always agree with Bush, but that doesn't mean that I like the fact that some folks are trying to smear the office of the President with such allegations. Same goes for anyone in service to the country. I am glad that this thing has been buried.

    Man, this is getting ridiculous. Every week we hear about some nut job offing folks. Sometimes, we here about this twice a week. But, I will not damn the guns like most people for one simple fact: Taking away the guns isn't gonna change a person's state of mental health. If people want to kill each other, trust me, they find a way. We humans are relatively easy to kill. Almost all serial killers stray away from using guns in their killings. I am pretty handy with a Bow and Arrow and probably could have achieved the same results with that weapon had I not had a gun. Probably could have done better to tell the truth. Guns make things easier to kill, but they lack that power without a person to squeeze the trigger.

    All this damn finger pointing is making me noxious. What is so hard about staying in the middle? The right has its problems with all the racist extremists and nationalists on that side. The left has its problems with all the extremely radical socialists and anarchists. Am I the only one who sees the problem with both sides?

    OMG!! I am soooo scared man!! I gotta get outta the US!! CANADA, HERE I COME!!! Yes, I do see the element of fear mongering here, but the article does hold some truth to it. I tried going on Stormfront the day after the election because I knew that those guys would be having kittens. True enough, the damn site was down for a bit. I had my suspicions as to why. It is things like this, though, that reminds you of how primitive we all still are.

    Okay, i for one am sick of North Korea. This is similar to the way the world tried to handle Hitler before we went to war with him. I say, lets just go ahead and nip this one in the butt before it becomes too much of a problem. If you really want NK to piss their pants while having China take a little more initiative when dealing with NK, Let Japan and South Korea get a hold of some nukes. Problem solved, or at the least, we will arrive at a stalemate.

    Wow, they weren't bluffing. The pirates just mortar attacked a US congressman after arriving in Mogadishu.

    Wow, didn't expect this to end like this. Didn't expect the good captain to come back to the shores alive. Glad that a good deed doesn't go unrewarded in the end.

    Extinct? Are you kidding? I wouldn't want that. That could have bad effects on an ecosystem. Besides, have you ever had Croc meat? It is extremely delicious.

    exactly. This guy has only been in office three months. These problems happened before we even knew who he was. Heck, some of these problems have been going on since I was in diapers. Lets not even began to state the obvious point that the major collapse of the US economy started under the watch of the conservatives on capital hill. I don't agree with all Obama's policies(abortion in particular) but I am willing to give him a few years before I start to verbally abuse him like I did Bush and his predecessors for as long as I have cared about politics. But guys like Sean hannity and a few posters here at JT have crucified the guy since day one. I know the left wasn't fair to bush, but they at least waited until 911 blew up in his face until they started to nail him to the cross.

    Well, it is amazing how most of the experts and the word coming from the CIA and the White House is that these guys are in it simply for the money. There is no evidence to support that they are on a Jihad nor are they linked to Al Queda. They are crooks, plane and simple. Greedy, risk taking thieves. These guys are not jacking these ships for a Holy War against the west. They are simply taking advantage of an opportunity to exploit money in a region where such a commodity is scarce. But despite 99.9% of every expert from both the left and the right saying this, I am willing to bet that Will will continue to clammer on about a Jihad and how Islam is out to destroy everything. This is why the president had to go back and tell everyone that we are not at war with Islam. It is a few bad apples outta 700 million decent people who are out there causing trouble.

    That is what I am stating as well. I could give a rats ass where the profits are going, but don't be mistaken. This is all about making some cash.

    I never said I was a scholar, but I am just calling it like I see it. Calling a spade a spade is what I am doing. There is a huge difference between these guys and the guys strapping themselves with explosives and running into the middle of a busy intersection. The more I read your posts, however, the more I see it as Madverts does; a rant against Islam. And some of you wondered why the president had to reiterate that we are not at war with Islam itself.

    That is because it is just banditry. If it was Jihad, they would be blowing the tankers out of the water. Instead, they are holding hostages and demanding ransom.

    Aye, the captain did do an honorable deed. Not many men would do such in that situation, sad to say.
