The majority of the US military backs Obama. Even your pathetic Military Times argument can't state otherwise.

i read that one and chuckle at the desperation.

barney frank has said the democrats will cut military spending by 25 percent.

that's a lot of jobs and families hit.

knowing that military votes trend republican democrats in virginia tried this month to have overseas military votes invalidated, just as gore did in 2000.

Perhaps the lessor democratic nations can do that like Canada, Finland, Australia, New Zealand, Iceland, Sweden ....

    thanx for the chuckle.

why can't the barack obamas in these nations rise to political positions of any real power or consequence?

Rashid Khalidi was with the PLO? What evidence do you have for that?

there is all kinds of evidence. i doubt you're actually interested though, since a simple search would turn up plenty.

Tom Friedman report in the New York Times, June 9, 1982:

"The Israelis are out to "crush the P.L.O.," said Rashid Khalidi, a director of the Palestinian press agency, Wafa. He said they hope that by doing so, they will undermine the international recognition the P.L.O. has gained and eliminate its demands for an independent Palestinian state as a rallying point for Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip." http://corner.nationalreview.com/post/?q=ZmE2YjgxZTNmZjU5ODVmMmQ2NTJmMDg3MGEwOGUxMjM=

there is also an ayers-khalidi link. in his book khalidi thanked ayers for use of his home while writing one of his books.

To some Republicans, her answer indicated she had quite an unbecoming, for a Republican, clip on her shoulders. By contrast, Liberals saw it right away.

funny. i hit about 20 political sites a day. never, even in comments, come across anyone saying palin has a chip on her shoulder.

how can someone gibber about 'great wisdom' and in the same short post refer to a man whom at least 50 million Americans will vote for as 'mcinsane'?

One more factor against McCain - he is Al Quaeda's Choice. :-)

    wrong again.

I call that an age-old labor/management problem that hasn't been solved even with all the heads that were busted in the Pullman Strike.

that made me laugh. thanx. here i was thinking you had actually lived and worked in the United States and more to the point, been a dues-paying member of a union, as i have twice.

"If she [Palin] was interested in the outside world, she could have seen it."

she's not the one running for president of the world.

    remember?

it's obama who flew to berlin and spent 700,000 dollars to lecture germans, in english, about 'change'.

    Clutching at straws.

    says sushisake 3

you obviously don't know much about the candidates. so i'll make it easy for you.

obama declared when elected to the US senate in 2004 that he would not seek the presidency in 2008 because he believed he was unqualified.

his own words. a mic in front of him. here is the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iq3pI26YUvM

so what has he done since jan 05 that makes him something more than the most inexperienced candidate ever nominated by either of the main parties in America?

i think you have no reply.

i predict you will evade or change the subject.

I'm glad mccain came clean with the American public about his lack of knowledge about fundamental economics as it really does set the candidates apart.

you know it is odd how what obama said in the primaries is dismissed as irrelevant since his 'elevation' to presidential nominee but mccain is still dogged by an offhand admission, made when he was facing the financial wizard mitt romney, that economics was not his strong suit.

now, i consider myself a fairly rational person. so i checked his past. mccain is on record in may 2006 with 19 other senator-all of them republicans-basically predicting the subprime crisis in a letter warning the senate leader that action on the issue of regulatory reform was urgently needed.

    have a look:

    http://www.dinocrat.com/wp-content/letter_050506c.gif

not even two years in the senate and barack obama was the second largest beneficiary of donations from fannie may and fred mac.

They may not, but in my estimation, Obama--who is rightfully protective of his private information--is more likely to protect individual privacy than people who worry that there are terrorists under their beds.

obama had his first opponent in chicago disqualified through some pretty underhanded legal methods.

his next two opponents both mysteriously had records of ugly but not untypical divorces made public.

democrats want to abolish the right to a secret ballot in unionized workplaces.

you call that respect for privacy and protection from coercion by forces and groups more powerful than the individual?

Mccain has even less that is worth counting.

list the accomplishments that qualify obama to be president.

list the legislation he has authored.

    you can't.

    he has none.

    so vote obama next tuesday.

McCain is within 10 points because Americans are suckers for war stories.

poll after poll shows the military is the most respected institution in America.

    far above the liberal media.

the military is also generally acknowledged to be virtually color blind, but of course its detractors in the US and abroad cynically twist this and say it's because they need the appearance of true equality to lure minorities.

if anything, mccain has been admirably quiet about his accomplishments. some say too quiet.

i see few people here aware that he was also a squadron leader and a flight instructor.

    you know, leadership experience.

    obama doesn't have it.

historically, it would be unusual if obama didn't win.

8 years of republicans is usually followed by a democrat.

    add the overwhelming media bias.

you know it is pervasive and obvious when russia, which brought the world pravda, comments on it:

Russia's Central Elections Committee has also assigned its Centre for the Study of Election Technology to review the U. S. election campaign.

"A preliminary report prepared by the group, after studying U. S. media coverage on the NBC, CBS and ABC television networks since September, has concluded Barack Obama, the Democratic presidential candidate, has a "hidden advantage." A preliminary report obtained by the Russian daily online newspaper Kommersant concludes the U. S. television networks devoted more time to Republican candidate John McCain, but "the material that makes up that time difference can be assessed as negative."" http://www.nationalpost.com/news/world/story.html?id=901941

when you add the record amounts of cash that obama has, much of it foreign (even slate is calling him out on this) it is a miracle that mccain is within ten points.

    very revealing post at 2:01pm

how like a democrat and a 'liberal', always with the totalitarian instinct, the need to desperately identify and control all voices in what is supposed to be free exchange of ideas...

Anyway, I link would really help us know what we are talking about, rather than this vague accusation of Obama being against the constitution.

    how about rassmussen polls:

While 82% of voters who support McCain believe the justices should rule on what is in the Constitution, just 29% of Barack Obama’s supporters agree. Just 11% of McCain supporters say judges should rule based on the judge’s sense of fairness, while nearly half (49%) of Obama supporters agree.

You seem to want to argue what is so by making predictions about a future that has not yet been realized.

looking at what happened to joe the plumber it is pretty easy to do.

The current administration has made it much easier for the government to gain access to it.

you seem to want to invent facts when you have none to offer.

The results of the Military Times 2008 Election Poll are not representative of the opinions of the military as a whole. The group surveyed is older, more senior in rank and less ethnically diverse than the overall armed services.

the single most popular election video on youtube (12 million hits) features an American soldier back from iraq. he eviscerates the empty suit obama for his position on the war.
