    I've been in much worse crowds; and, didn't feel any safety concerns last night at all. Glad we went early enough to see it before it got cancelled. This seemed to be more of a lack in planning, than anything else. Why allow motor traffic on the road leading to the station? If it had been closed, like Ginza on Sunday afternoon, not only would we have been "safer", but, the available prime viewing area would have been roughly tripled.

    If Honda had approached the ball with the same intensity as he was goading Cahill (or, complaining after) all night, Japan would be be sitting on top with 9 points, and the Aussies would be scrambling for their 2014 lives.

    BernieK, I too remember the Littbarski years!

    Since last year, there's been a big banner in the supporter section: "Shaking All Over". I prefer to read it as the shaking -is- all over, rather than the shaking being all over the place. But, it's an amusing sign nonetheless...

    As Australia and Japan are 1 and 2

    The loss will likely drive them behind South Korea when the next FIFA rankings come out. They were only 4 spots ahead previously.

    I read elsewhere that the afternoon starts are due to problems with the lighting towers. They should be fixed soon, and games will resume at night in mid-July.

    Vegalta's practice field and clubhouse was also pretty hard hit. They finally moved back into their clubhouse two weeks ago.
