This should serve as a warning to those considering taking illegal enhancers; that its not sufficient to only fool today's drug tests. You have to be sure you can fool any future test. In other words, don't do it.

She went on a rescue mission of civilians with the rebels ?????????? That is beyond belief.

I am glad at least one person caught that.

Anyway, its obvious that the Syrian driver is pro-rebel, so of course he will say that pro-Assad forces killed her.

referring to paramilitary groups loyal to Assad accused of some of the worst atrocities committed during the 17-month-old uprising.

Accused by whom? I do recall the observer missions accusing the rebel side of committing many atrocities.

The journalists decided to change their plan and go and film the rescue mission though the rebel commander warned against it.

Hmmm, why didn't the commander want her to film the "rescue"?

Walking around with a bunch of terrorists attempting to carry out a brutal regime change will put anyone under great risk. And it is very possible that she was murdered by the rebels themselves. The murder of such a pretty young woman does make the government side look very bad (assuming you're one of those who have swallowed the hook, line, and sinker).

How is this even comparable? Isrealii weapon stockpiles are probably the most secure on the planet ...

except in the hands of the Israeli military, they used it on innocent unarmed civilians. The Syrian military has yet to use them, despite their suffering great loses.

    wontond,

So if Madoff gives some money to a cancer foundation, that would make him a good guy.

There are potentially as many as 7 clean cyclists who were robbed of deserved recognition and instead might end up sinking into obscurity.

Before Armstrong, Greg Lemond had done a lot for the sport in America. I guess now Lemond will be considered America's greatest cyclist.

Some things Lemond said about Armstrong 5 years ago:

"Lance is ready to do anything to keep his secret. I don't know how he can continue to convince everybody of his innocence."

"I just think he's not a good person and that's all I can say. I mean, he's a facade, if you knew the real Lance Armstrong that I know. I think he fronts himself as a guy who is loving and caring. From my experience, he's not a nice guy and I've had some very difficult periods with him. And I don't believe he'll finish up having any friends in cycling."

Hey, are there any Armstrong brand bicycles sold. If so, we might be able to get them quite cheap!

He is currently clinging to power by bombing his own people, and that isn't working.

No, he is bombing foreign backed, financed, armed, and assisted terrorists.

That you and Never Submit suggest this murderous dictator stand in any future Syrian elections is a testament to your slender grip on reality.

What's the big deal; Obama is running again, and he is certainly responsible for the murder of many more people than Assad.

Actually, the fact that he must resort to using the military to resist a western-backed coup just proves that he will not follow the West's agenda at the expense of the Syrian people. He would probably end up winning if there is a fair election.

This is crazy, the Washington regime is concerned about Syrian weapons falling in the hands of rebels who are backed, armed, financed, and assisted by people Obama loyalists. If they were truly concerned, they never should have started this conflict. It seems to me they are studying the possibly of using this as an excuse to help the rebels carry out regime change.

Any military mission to secure the chemical sites likely would be a coalition effort, including NATO allies, Israel and Arab states, she said.

Why would this coalition include Israel? Israel have on numerous occasions used white phosphorous against unarmed fenced-in civilian populations in Gaza, including on a UN school. US and NATO should instead be very concerned about Israeli stockpiles and studying contingency plans for a mission to secure Israel's chemical (and other) weapons.

So the US is staying cool and not getting involved.

What?!!! The US is behind this entire mess. The US has been planning regime change in Syria (among other places) for long over a decade.

Just imagine if Syria has a fair open election, and Assad wins!!! What will the US do then?

Having all candidates run in an internationally monitored election seems like the best solution, why is the US against it?

The US gets quite upset when the people democratically elect someone the US does not like (e.g., Hamas).

    From a Japanese government website:

"The San Francisco Peace Treaty, signed in September 1951, stipulates that Japan, recognizing the independence of Korea, renounces all right title and claim to Korea, including the islands of Quelpart, Port Hamilton and Dagelet. Upon learning of the content of this part of the Treaty drafted by the United States and the United Kingdom, the ROK requested the United States to add Takeshima as one of the regions for which Japan would renounce all right, title and claim. The United States rejected the request by responding that Takeshima had never been treated as part of Korea and does not appear ever before to have been claimed by Korea. Such correspondence clearly shows that Takeshima was affirmed as part of the territory of Japan."

Obama doesn't know anything since foreign journalists are banned,

What are you talking about? I guess you haven't read the news today on JT about Mika Yamamoto. There are plenty of journalists in Syria. Western media seems to prefers to spread propaganda from the Observatory, don't let that fool you into thinking that there aren't any brave journalists risking their lives to cover the truth. Try having a look at RT.

For those who have trouble believing the rebels would do this, please watch this RT report.

    Tamarama,

How free do you think Saudi Arabia is? Why would they be so interested in "freeing" the Syrian people? Indeed, think about what you are endorsing.

But she still allows me to try to vote her out if I don't like her work and she doesn't send the Army or security forces in to kill me if I object.

Yeah, some people continue to believe they have a real choice at elections. As for security forces killing those who object, you should not believe everything coming from the Observatory or the Damascus blogger.

the Syrian Army considers foreign reporters no better than peeping Toms.

Actually, that probably applies more to the rebels. It is widely recognized that the rebels consider the deaths of journalists a good thing, because it makes the Syrian government look bad. The French reporter Gilles Jacquier was eventually found to have been killed by the rebels, not by the Syrian military.

The best thing is for all foreign reporters to leave.

No, then we would get all our information from the "Observatory", the world needs heroes like Mika Yamamoto to tell/show us what is really going on. R.I.P. Mika!

If it was our case, and our presidents started killing our people, we would be begin for the help of the developed countries, to stop this.

Indeed, but if it was the developed countries that was funding/arming/assisting a group of mercenaries to kill our people, we would be begging our president to go all out and crush these killers.

    Tamarana,

You are using as reference the Index of Economic Freedom? From The Heritage Foundation!!!

He has not implemented reforms he promised or eased political repression. They have responded to anti-government protests with a brutal crackdown...The economy is characterised by crippling state bureaucracy, high unemployment, inflation and rising budget defecit. The rule of law is characterised by being fragile, inconsistent, corrupt and susceptible to political interference. Business is characterised by heavy state intervention.

Are you talking about Assad or Obama?

Do you have links for this? I'm genuinely interested to read them.

If you were able to find the above information, and if you are genuinely interested, I am sure you can find it. Many of the initial terrible crimes where entire families had their throats slit, were proven to be committed by the rebels; and this was documented by a UN or Arab League fact-finding mission. The rebels throwing people off the roofs, and many other crimes, were reported several times by Russia Today. Press TV also reports on similar executions, including the hanging of a small child.

Assad might not be an angle and its perfectly understandable that some people do not like him, but it is a 100% certainty that the rebels are not fighting for the Syrian people to have better lives and greater freedom.

    Virtuoso,

I hope you do not expect us to provide links every time we post on a thread about Syria. Plenty of links have been provided already, look back at previous articles.

Readers of news from the middle east for decades now have been reading descriptions of Syria as having one of the most repressive governments in the region, a family-run system propped up by a huge security apparatus.

The Syrian regime is totalitarian, all the decisions are taken by a few people, but it is nowhere as repressive as the major backers of the rebels. They have good education, women's rights, and they HAD a growing economy with no or very little debt. And they had peace!

Considering the atrocious acts committed by the rebels (including executing children and throwing people off roofs) I can't see how anyone can expect the repression to decrease if the rebels take over.

The Jingle Bells thing is strange indeed. The media is definitely feeding us a fairy tale.

Yeah, the protest is probably choreographed by the west; a staged event just like the toppling of Saddam's statue.

Funny how this article makes no mention of the support he gets from the Syrian population.

All we get is “Eid is here, Eid is here, God curse you, O Bashar,”

And they sang that to the tune of Jingle Bells!!! Doesn't seem like the protesters were typical Muslims.

And the article does give the false impression that all, or at least the majority, of the casualties are caused by the Syrian military.

Assad... has characterised the conflict as a battle against a foreign “terrorist” plot aided by the West and its allies in the region, led by Sunni powerhouse Saudi Arabia.

    Assad is 100% correct.

I wonder, NeverSubmit, if the Assad regime is as squeaky clean and innocent as you constantly claim, why wouldn't they let in foreign journalists to get up close to the action and report the truth?

The Assad regime is certainly cleaner than the regimes that support the rebels.

Anyway, Syria does allow foreign journalists to get up close to the action and report the truth. Journalists are much more afraid of the rebels. The rebels are the ones attacking journalists and UN officials.

I think that Iran's attack will probably not happen before the U.S election.

I believe that if Israel does attack, they'll do it before the election, not after. Obama might not go along with it once reelected, and the Israelis are certainly too chicken to do it by themselves, especially after the nose-bleed they got from Hezbollah a few years ago.

The fact that there are so many "news" reports about the alleged words of Iranian leaders is quite worrying, seems they are preparing us for something. Why doesn't the MSM instead focus on the real Arab Spring going on right now in Bahrain, which is being brutally crushed by forces loyal to the Bahraini dictator?

On the other hand, the fact that there are so many "leaks" from Israel concerning an upcoming attack, it might all be deception. If they really wanted to attack, the element of surprise is very important.
