Oh, blimey - here we go. Get ready for endless puff-pieces about how great Japanese cinema is. Just like it was when "Okuribito" got one Oscar a couple of years back. Nobody seemed to have noticed that Slumdog Millionaire got 8. "Oooh, We Japanese love movie". My ring.
I've not seen this film, but I'll bet you a pound to a penny it involves someone running in the rain at some point.

Why would anybody make a special trip to his parents in order to commit suicide there? Despicable in so many ways.

It looks like Eri Nakawake has been profoundly unwell on a plate with rice on. But the ricw will be deemed kawaii so nothing else matters. I despair.

Sleeping is not a hobby, it's a bodily function.
When some bony spinster says her weekend activity was sleeping, I usually ask if she moved her bowels between Friday night and Monday morning. At least there's often some substance to that.

This bloke must be extremely minted. He looks like a seedy old gimp, but he must have something the ladies love.
It reminds me of a question asked by Mrs Merton to the lovely Debbie McGee:
"So what was it that first attracted you to the short, bald, multi-millionaire Paul Daniels?"

Saving Private Ryan is a good example of film-makers taking liberties with history. It is without doubt one of the greatest war films ever made, but The Word According to Spielberg says that the US of A was by far the main player in the events of D-Day, and the British/ANZAC/Canadians only bit players.
No right-minded person would deny the courage of anyone of any nationality who helped bring about the end of Nazism that longest of days, but one can't help but think my grandfather - blessings be upon his name - might have a word or two to say about the way his fallen comrades were erased from such an otherwise magnificent depiction of history.

The James Bond version was not "circa" 1967. It was 1967. Does this writer not know what words mean?

nigelboy, I will thank you not to speculate on the level of my Japanese ability. Firstly because it is unconnected to the topic, secondly because it is an ad hominem attack, and thirdly because you are talking out of your ringpiece.
I think you also mean "could have" sworn, not "could of". If you're taking the moral high ground in terms of literacy, please try not to write like a subliterate.
Finally, there is no golden rule that all song titles have to be great works of literature, but it would be nice were Becky, just once, to be connected to something which did not insult the intelligence of a three-year-old-moron.
Moderator: Readers, that ends the sniping at each other.

nigelboy - precisely. If they are not English-speaking people, why give them gibberish and pretend it's English? There are only 2 e's in green, and the phrase "good lucky" is infantile nonsense. Becky, we are led to believe, has a fair command of English, yet she collaborated in this pidgin because it's kawaiiiiiiiii. Indefensible, and moronic.

Smith: Oh I say! Well played, sir. Make up meaningless words, squeak them through a rictus and make a cutesy pose and hey presto! Japanese culture we're under orders to respect. Pile o' bolleaux.

What's the odds that the video to this will feature Becky making the peace sign, head cocked to one side and one leg bent up behind her, grinning like a cutesy moron?
