hey vor, why do assume all this started with rockets. Gaza is an overcrowded concentration camp, Palestinians are sealed within its heavily guarded boarders. Israel determines who and what can enter and exit Gaza under its very strict blockade, severely restricting access to food, fuel, medicine, and income. So, I've got a question for you. say you are a guy and you have a family and your family has been living under these terrible conditions for decades, are you not going to do what you need to do to protect them? regardless of what the underlying causes are?

Israel certainly does not have the moral high ground, it never has. If there truly is a God, Israel will get its butt kicked severely. Unfortunately, I'm afraid they'll get away with this once again.

Genocide is the deliberate and systematic destruction, in whole or in part, of an ethnic, racial, religious, or national group.
Israel has already committed and continues to commit genocide against the Palestinian people.

The Israelis are horrid and beastly terrorists, but this is nothing new, they have been like this for at least the past 6 decades. But as usual, western leaders will let them continue their genocide, an even give them more weapons and money.
The US and all other countries who back Israel are also responsible for this genocide.

Eventually, many will be saying this about the most of the holocaust story. So many actually believe The Diary of Anne Frank to be an authentic diary written by the girl.

The rockets are just an excuse. Palestinians have been murdered and terrorized with and without the rocket firings. Israel wants all Palestinians to leave or die, they want all the land. The world should wake up and put an end to this evil regime. Gaza is a concentration camp and the Palestinians are dying, whether they fire rockets or not.

Didn't this crackdown follow a failed assassination attempt against Saddam? Why wasn't this mentioned?

He's dead! But they'll make a video of him and use it as an excuse to invade Pakistan. "His videos" always seem to pop up when the US needs an excuse.
And now that the US is bankrupted, they desperately need an excuse to start a war, a big one.

Oh my! When will there ever be a Coalition of the Willing formed to liberate the Palestinians. When will the world stop enduring the terrorist state of Israel and stop giving it billions of dollars.
Oh yeah, when we will finally have leaders instead of puppets governing our countries.
Lets put an end to this genocide, NOW!

kiniku, What was factually incorrect about Sabiwaibi's comments:
"Rahm Emanuel served in the Israeli army during the 1991 gulf war." "He volunteered to serve in the army of another country!!!"
You simply added that he was "rust-proofing brakes"!
BTW, don't you find it odd that someone would, after serving as national campaign director, and senior advisor and chief fundraiser for Richard M. Daley's victorious campaign for Mayor of Chicago, he would go rust-proofing brakes for the Israeli army. Hahahihihi...

kinniku, Did you bother reading Sabiwabi's comments? If you did, I can't see how you would find my conclusions odd. Americans, and the world for that matter, should be worried at Obama's comments, policies, and the people in his administration.

McCain might be better for Israel, but he is clearly not better for America. Americans should NOT vote for McCain.

Helter Skelter, Israel's wars were not defensive. They have often attacked their enemies and their allies. The attack on the USS Liberty is just one example. Iran has not initiated wars with other countries for a very long time (centuries?). Iran has long proven itself to be responsible and peaceful. Israel has, from its creation until today, continually proven itself to be racist and evil.

No, Israel IS the world's dirty work.
The entire world should be more concerned with Israel's current nuclear bombs than Iran's ALLEGED (no proof) ambitions for aiming to get a few in a decade or so.

kinniku, Please make an honest effort to inform yourself before asking others to prove the obvious. Olmert deserves to be tried at the Hague. To not understand why is to be out of touch with ME issues.

kinniku, Why do you get the impression I made this up? I was referring to Olmert's admissions at the commission, not about the conclusion of the commission. According to Haaretz: "Prime Minister Ehud Olmert told the Winograd Commission that his decision to respond to the abduction of soldiers with a broad military operation was made as early as March 2006, four months before last summer's Lebanon war broke out." http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/834549.html
The Independent also talks about it: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/olmert-planned-lebanon-war-before-soldiers-kidnap-439474.html
I would say that it is your statement "Olmert went into the attack without any experience and any planning" that is completely incorrect.

kinniku The attack on Lebanon was planned long before the two soldiers were taken. Olmert even admitted this to the Winograd Commission.

Or as Noam Chomsky recounts the events: 'IDF kidnapping of civilians on June 24, Hamas capture of a soldier the next day, then the huge U.S.-Israeli escalation of attacks on Gaza... then the kidnapping of soldiers by Hezbollah, then the U.S.-Israeli destruction of most of Lebanon, justified by the pretense of outrage over kidnapping, which – to repeat – is demonstrated, conclusively, to be cynical fraud'."
BTW, the soldiers were captured, not kidnapped. And early reports say they were captured within Lebanon.

Let me rephrase that: I agree that most of the world's media, but not its people, sympathize with Israel.
