For goodness sakes, people, this story is about EGYPT! I'm amazed how pretty much every single post on this site almost instantly turns into a whinge about American politics. Time for some people - left, right or incoherent - to get a life!

A voice of reason, shining like a halo in the gloom.

This is so unfair. They never sent me the entry form for this competition.

You know, I think the waving was actually better than ever this year. It sure looks like they`ve been practising, because it was really a delight to see.

Minami replied, “I’d like to get married at around 24 or 25, but I don’t have a boyfriend right now and my friends tell me it’s not going to happen anytime soon.

Yeah right. Why else would a plain skinny unattractive girl with no personality get all the TV, CM and silly award coverage that she gets at the moment ?

What a delightful description. And so true too!

I think it`s best if South Korea sits back and plays the waiting game. One day that whole disgusting excuse for a government will collapse as the military separates into opposing factions. The South will then be able to clear up the mess and bring civilization to the proles there.

I don`t think the Israel/Palestine problem will be solved in my lifetime, but I am optomistic about the Korean Peninsular.

We could have just as easily given a date and time, and have told the Japanese to have their movie cameras ready, as we are going to show you something over the ocean,,,,and then if you do not surrender, we have like 50 of these things and are going to start dropping them on your cities one day at a time. I think that would have worked.

Such a tragedy that some of those who can view the war from the comfort of 2010 weren`t walking the corridors of power in 1945.

One of the rationales for the sidewalk ban is that people walking with lit cigarettes tend to hold them between puffs at children's eye-level and some kid got one in the eye a while back. It sounds ridiculous but in a crowded sidewalk I could see how that would be a legitimate concern

I dont think this sounds ridiculous at all. There are some very unpleasant, inconsiderate people who puff away without giving a stuff about anybody around them. Its because of these irresponsible people that Butt Police are required.

    > “Brace yourselves, because the war with Muslims has just begun,” 31-year-old Faisal Shahzad told a federal judge. “Consider me the first droplet of the blood that will follow.”

This is just so bizarre on so many levels.

    First droplet of blood?

He was neither killed or wounded, and many people have already died. What an insult to his brethren!

This guy talks like he wants his pic up on bedroom walls, while ignoring the people who have gone before him and paid with their lives.

AP: One hundred years from now, what do you want people to know about John Lennon?

Ono: First of all, I’m not sure if I’m not going to be there.

I was kind of thinking how nice it`d be to outlive Yoko Ono so that I could live in a Yoko Ono-free world. It would be a shame if some technology came along and denied me my wish.

Opinion polls show many Pakistanis regard the United States as an enemy, and conspiracy theories abound of U.S. troops wanting to attack Pakistan and take over its nuclear weapons.

Unfortunately, these kind of beliefs flourish when a country neglects to educate its people. Pakistans government has provided fertile ground for the "USA is out to get us" crowd.

Can`t someone just hand Ozawa a fishing rod with some bait, and point in the direction of the nearest body of water.

Nobody believes him when he starts up with "Nihon no tame ni..."

What would go through Obama`s mind while reading his track record, if he were to become his counterpart.

The Greens got their first ever Senate seat so they have done quite well

Actually, it was their first seat in the Lower House. Bob Brown`s been a senator for a while.
