I hate when the revisionist try to blame someone else for what someone had done.....
David Kuhn: "'Mission Accomplished' Revisited": April 20, 2004 "I wish the banner was not up there," said White House top political adviser Karl Rove in April, while speaking with the editorial board of The Columbus (Ohio) Dispatch. "I'll acknowledge the fact that it has become one of those convenient symbols." [...] "We put it up. We made the sign," Fleischer said. "But I think it accurately summed up where we were at the time, mission accomplished...the mission was to topple Saddam Hussein."
Bush speech at "Camp As Sayliyah" "America sent you on a mission to remove a grave threat and to liberate an oppressed people, and that mission has been accomplished," he said. Despite growing doubts at home and abroad, he reiterated that troops would find weapons of mass destruction, which were his rationale for striking first at Iraq.
http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/iraq/2003-06-05-bush-qatar_x.htm
But that wasn’t entirely true. Later, Bush’s press secretary admitted that the sign was actually supplied by the White House. He said somebody in the carrier crew had asked for it, but who that might be remains a mystery.
http://www.factcheck.org/2003/12/is-this-a-great-job-or-what/
You are correct with one point, the sailors put up the sign, but it was the Bush White House that supplied it.....LOL
Facts are in such low demand from the far right.LOL

President Obama is about to bring to trial those folks that attacked us. Rather than having them rot in Gitmo he is bringing them to where their crime took place.
With all the evidence against them they will surely hang. But for some reason the right wingers here would rather let them go then have them stand trial.
Those who died on that date deserve justice even if you folks do not want it for them.
I find it sad that folks take someones quotes out of context all to try and make a point. You really should fact check things before planting your foot in your mouth.
Now, let me try and help you from seeming to not know much. The quote that you are referring is an incorrect quote.
Misleading e-mail: From Audacity of Hope: "I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction."
Now the correct statement by President Obama;
Actual quote from "The Audacity of Hope" [pg. 261]: Of course, not all my conversations in immigrant communities follow this easy pattern. In the wake of 9/11, my meetings with Arab and Pakistani Americans, for example, have a more urgent quality, for the stories of detentions and FBI questioning and hard stares from neighbors have shaken their sense of security and belonging. They have been reminded that the history of immigration in this country has a dark underbelly; they need specific assurances that their citizenship really means something, that America has learned the right lessons from the Japanese internments during World War II, and that I will stand with them should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.
Hm, our President said nothing like what you referred to.

President Obama sneezes, republican response,"This can not be, a President sneezing! How evil and low!"
President Obama brushes his hair, republican response,"This can not be, a President combing his hair, how evil and low!"
President Obama says,"Hi" to a reporter, republican response,"This can not be, a President talking, how evil and low!"
Republicans are so silly with their attempts. Only fools can not see through these childish ploys......

I am glad that we are bringing these pieces of dung to trial. Been to long and to much dancing around our Constitution. Time for these guys to swing for their crimes...
I do not believe in the death penalty, but in this case it should be used.

Sheik Hassan Nasrallah and Glenn Beck do not like the President. Maybe they should get together and organize a rally against President Obama.

I know I know after 8 years of not using that little called Due Process from that paper (yes the Constitution) that the right hates. We the people have to go through the steps and see if the people can find him guilty.
Hell if the last administration was still in office they would have just shipped him off to Gitmo. But by doing that we lose our rights that we hold so dear.
So let's take him to court, find him guilty of treason and hang him.
To help the r and far right here, below is an explanation of Due Process. I hope your heads do not spin off, but it is in our Constitution.
Generally, due process guarantees the following:
The real question is who will prosecute Military (UCMJ article 118) or Federal? I think they will run with Federal.

I for one agree with you.
Many people put their religious views over their countries needs. Be their religion Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Wiccan. Anyone that puts their religion above their countries needs, really should not be wearing the uniform.
If you put it on you agree to serve the nation, no matter what must be done. Nation comes before religion every time.
Spoken like a true American patriot!
Well said USNinJapan2! Bravo Zulu to you!
Overreacting? No just asking a question.

True dat? Is your "true dat" an attempt to rib the President because he is Black? You may want to listen to him some more, he does not speak like that.
Very interesting quote you put there. I see your trying to blame the president for not flying to Fort Hood right after the attack. But, if he would have flown there I bet you would have tried to say he was just there for a photo op....Sad
You are attempting to compare the attacks of Sept 11th with the attacks on our forces at Fort Hood? That is truly sad....
Tragic yes but this was something that we could not prevent. September 11th 2001 could have been prevented. Very very sad statement there, that is all I can say about your comment, very sad.
Moderator: No further references to 9/11 please.

Anyone that holds radical religious beliefs over the belief in their country should not be in our country.

Glad to see that the folks from NJ decided to start fresh. Just hope the new Gov does not cave into the corruption of NJ.
To be honest I really did not know that there was a Democrat in the Virgina gov mansion. I thought that it was a strong red state.LOL
What was a good sign for our nation is the defeat of the Conservative party candidate in NY 23rd. Glad to see that our nation does not want to follow the far right. Hope that gave the Republicans a wake up call.
Stick to the Center-Right and avoid the far right.

Actually Sarge, if Bush would have not stuck his head in the sand (or was that oil)and invaded Iraq. But rather would have gone into Afghanistan with 400,000 troops. We would have defeated the Taliban and had all of Al Qaida killed off by now. But, Bush was a fool and he believed what Cheney and Chalabi were feeding him.
For his mistakes we now need to take care of business.....Sad but true...
Well, unless you believe that President Obama has been serving for the last 6th year. Then if you believe that, well then it must be President for life Obama's fault...LOL

How interesting that you did not refute my statement but instead tried to belittle it. By your statement you must be one of the BNP's supporters then? Or am I mistaken?
Actually the present U.S. Republican party is a bit racist and too far to the right for my likings.
Case in point, take the Republican party during the 80's. The Republican's were very conservative and less nationalistic. I considered them (the Republican's) to be Center Right and I was a member. They were closer related to your Tory's than to the BNP.
While today the Republican party has changed and become more nationalistic and less conservative. Their ideals have become more far right and less tolerant. Now they resemble the BNP more than the Troy's.
Take a look at their party policies and see how close they are...
As I said it before "I see the Republican party does have a British version"

Yeah ole Dick is so right, when President Obama started the 2 wars way back in 2003 he just did not have a plan. Now we are in the 6th year of the Obama administration and we still have not gotten the thing done.
You way back when Dick and Bush were in charge 2000-2001, things were so much better....LOL
