    dontpanic at 05:10 PM JST - 14th August So its ok to insight violence, or riots, or to abuse people, or to lie? Words have consequences. In the name of freedom of speech these groups will use any method they can to convince the thick, uneducated or disaffected. Holocaust deniers would see the whole thing happen again.

    What is the difference between the Nazis or the Communist censoring the people and this story? In both regimes you had to hold your tongue if not you went to jail.

    There is no difference between either.

    To try and defend this is, is the same as defending other regimes who did (and do) the same.

    Over all very sad....

    Fredrick Toben—who is wanted in Germany on charges of denying the Holocaust

    Wow this is a real big surprise. I am one of those who thinks ,"freedom of speech not matter what is said".

    I can not even imagine sending someone to jail for what they believe and this is really sad in my book. Censoring and silencing those who believe other wise is terrible.

    If someone says, "birds are gods" and to eat them is a terrible sin. Is it not up to us ,"the people" to decide if that person is correct? Or do we leave it to the State to decide.

    No matter how insane someones beliefs are, I do not believe that the State has the right to silence them.

    Sad for all nations to censor thought! Real sad........

    What is so funny about the whole thing is that far right has lost it's voice over the Cheney book.

    Rush "I left far to the right" Limbaugh web site is treating this by not even mentioning it. It is so quiet in the land of the far right, it almost seem like the far right media machine wants this to go bye bye....LOL

    ” Cheney said, according to Stephen Hayes, his authorized biographer. “Now we’re talking about after we’ve left office. I have strong feelings about what happened. ... And I don’t have any reason not to forthrightly express those views.”

    Like the snake that he is, Cheney strikes at his friend. Hm I hope this is a tell all book. I was always wondering, how did Gukert get his press pass. Wonder if Cheney will fess up....LOL

    “In the second term, he felt Bush was moving away from him,”

    A few Cheney quotes will explain why anyone would have move away from this piece of work;

    "My belief is we will, in fact, be greeted as liberators." --March 16, 2003

    "I think they're in the last throes, if you will, of the insurgency." -- on the Iraq insurgency, June 20, 2005

    Sarge at 08:35 AM JST - 14th August JoeBigs - ( sigh ) No, I'm not sayin' that our enemies are not in Afghanistan, I'm sayin' that besides Afghanistan, they live in other places too.

    I agree with you wholeheartedly, I believe that many of our so called friends would throw us under the bus if they had a chance.

    Funny how the main buggy man in Afghanistan is the Iranians. But we fail to ask,"Where is the Taliban getting all it's support from?". They make money in the opium drug trade, then use the profits to buy weapons and tribal leaders.

    Where are they buying their guns from? Main weapon of the Taliban is the AK-47 and 74. Too many countries produce those weapons to actually figure out who. But it does make you wonder.........

    Helter_Skelter at 04:35 PM JST - 13th August Too funny. When there were offensives like this in Afghanistan when Bush was president

    Problem was we were wasting our assets in the wrong place. Instead of focusing on the real enemy, we turned our attention to Iraq. After we did that we opened the Saudi and other area fanatic flood gates and our so called simple war for oil turned into a mess.

    Whenever we turned our attention to Afghanistan is was too little too late. Now after 7 years of mismanagement a new President is left to clean up the mess.

    Let me make sure I understand ya Sarge, your saying our enemies are not in Afghanistan? If the Taliban is not in Afghanistan then where are they?

    Noliving at 10:17 AM JST - 13th August You can deny it all you want joe bigs but it is his war.

    Who is dening that this is his war now? Where the argument lies is that the far right will not admit that it was a mistake to take assets away for the real war on terror and move it to the war on Oil.

    President Obama has done what needs to be done to win the war on terror. Fight the enemy where they live.

    Noliving at 10:17 AM JST - 13th August Obama is in charge now, he is the commander in chief,

    Dare I say he has done an outstanding job fighting the terrorist where they are, Afghanistan.

    Noliving at 10:17 AM JST - 13th August he could order the withdrawal of afghanistan

    Why would he order a withdraw? We need to fight our enemies where they are, Afghanistan.

    Noliving at 10:17 AM JST - 13th August he could order the withdrawal of afghanistan today but he hasn't which means that this war that he is pursueing is now his war.

    I hate to break it to you but our troops have been in Afghanistan waaaaaay before Obama became President. This may come as a shock to you but we were attacked by Al-Qaeda with support by the Taliban way back in 2001.

    We were not attacked Saddam and Iraq did not back the attacks with aide. We were attacked by Al-Qaeda with aide coming from the Taliban.

    The Taliban is not in Iraq nor was Al-Qaeda until Bush invaded there.

    If he had kept his promise to the People and taken care of both the Taliban and Al-qaeda when he said he would. We would have been out of Afghanistan long long long ago.

    But he did not and now it is up to President Obama to go after our enemies and take care of business.

    Noliving at 10:17 AM JST - 13th August If he didn't want it to be his war then he would withdraw.

    Ever read or heard his promise concerning Afghanistan? If you have not I can give you many links to some of his speeches. Just ask and you will see he never said he was going to get us out of Afghanistan.

    He did say he was getting us out Iraq.......

    tungincheke at 10:42 PM JST - 12th August obama's vietnam.

    If assets had not been diverted to to Iraq we would have taken out the Taliban by now. But the Bush administration was under pressure from his backers that he had to invade Iraq. He needed to pay back his friends and get them the oil fields in Iraq.

    Now President Obama has made good on his promise and begun to move assets where we need to be. Now the far right is claiming that this is his war, rather than saying the truth, "He has to clean up the far rights mess".

    I just wish some on the far right would support our efforts in the real war against Terrorist rather than crusade for oil.

    Now onto the reason why the far right is up in arms to get this bill killed.

    There are two real simple answers;

    One, many right wingers fear the President some for his public appeal while others because he is not white. Proof as always is provided below;

    http://www.scribd.com/doc/17622282/Do-YOU-FEAR-Obama

    http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0709/25302.html

    http://townhall.com/columnists/SandyRios/2008/10/31/wemustdefeatbarackobama?page=2

    Two, the far right wing needs to show to the left that they still have a voice.

    That is why their pundits are on all their Rove script. Take a listen at what they are saying and you will see a clear message,"Hate!". Same message that Rush and the other pundits were saying last election. Here are some examples;

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hea-4VJZXRE&feature=related

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rv_L8x6jfn8&feature=related

    These are just two Far right Republican reps who like to speak what is on their mind, and dare I say their minds are not all there....LOL

    Enjoy....

    Badsey at 08:16 PM JST - 12th August I am against Obama using his gang, the SEIU "AKA the purple shirts" to attack protesters and cause hostility and harm to the American people. -I don't see where giving people the "beat down" helps our health care battle.

    Your right, oh btw did you happen to know that he has no healthcare plan because he is unemployed? Now the poor innocent fellow is asking for help to pay for his pain and suffering?

    Why don't you jump on in there and donate some of your money to help the poor fellow out?

    Oh wait, if you did that could be considered a form of Socialist healthcare! So forget about it, let the guy pull himself up by his boot straps. That is the American thing to do, isn't?LOL

    hworta269 at 06:57 PM JST - 12th August Read the last paragraph of the story.

    So if it smells like old food and looks like old food it is not old food because someone says it is not? Hm, I must remember that.....LOL

    Rep. Lamar Smith of Texas, top Republican on the Judiciary Committee, “Democrats need to stop wasting taxpayers’ time and money on political investigations that are nothing more than the politics of personal destruction,”

    What is he suppose to say ,"Opps you caught Rove in a bit of a lie?", No of course not. He is going to try and quell the fire before it burns any hotter. He would not be doing his job if he does not say something.

    (doing my best Rush Limbaugh impersonation...opps can not do a very good job, I do not like to get high...LOL)

    "I too am shocked and dismayed, shocked and dismayed, it just can not be.....This must be a media ploy to bring the good and honest Rove down! But all you know that these allegations are all lies lies lies!!!"

    Now we return to the serious side of life......Everyone in the world including the JT far right members know that Rove was involved. Hell he was so deeply involved in every aspect of the Bush administration that if the President passed he would know it.....

    drinkmoremilk at 05:21 PM JST - 12th August Iraq has been talked to death and nothing can be done about spilt milk. I just wonder if the American public learnt anything from it? Unlikely....

    You are correct when you say the magic word,"Unlikely". Many on the far right, to this day can not and will not accept the "fact" that Saddam had zilch to do with the Sept 11th attacks.

    They will jump and yell how the world and Iraq are better off with him gone. But as the fanatics keep blowing themselves up, the same question rings out, were the Iraqis safer under Saddam than now?

    All the deaths just to pay back friends in the Energy sector like good old Enron....Sad

    Moderator: Readers, stay on topic please. Iraq is not relevant to this discussion.

    The bullet-riddled bodies of a Chechen activist and her husband were found in the trunk of their car Tuesday, the latest in a string of high-profile killings in Chechnya under its Kremlin-backed leader.
