Ummm.. I remember the final fantasy movie... the characters were very realistic, but if you see any videogame you'll see animated characters just like these, in that context although the movie "spirits within" didn't have any relation with the story arc of the videogame, it wasn't so shocking to see such characters (maybe because they weren't "real", even though Steve Buscemi and Alec Baldwin breathe such life into the characters).
With "Polar Express" was different: the voice actor was Tom Hanks and the driver was Tom Hanks animated, it was creepy and I was uncomfortable watching that movie, it was the feeling that Tom Hanks could be easily replaced, so didn't like it that way, why can't they just make a new character and not copy somebody's face?

In general J-pop sucks, that's why I listen to L'Arc, because even though them can sing some pop tunes, their style is not exactly "pop", when you listen to Tetsuya's songs in his solo career, you can notice the pop-ish style, the guy can write music, but his voice is not good for that kind of stuff, and it gets waaay too commercial. Gackt can sing a little more, but he is way over produced, so it lacks the music and his talent is wasted. SMAP, Ive never wasted my time with them. Utada Hikaru is to me a real artist for the pop genre. But the real fireproof if the group can sing live or even in a music program... Once, in NHK, there was a special with oreskaband, the songs were not that bad, but when they sang it was awful! in a studio set!, there were more than once girl going off tune and I only watched until the end because I was hoping that after that awful noise there would be something that it would make up for that (and I was sadly disappointed)

Let's see if Yates can make a good "split end" hehe.
I've seen all the Harry Potter films, the one that I hated the most was "prisoner of Azkaban" (I loved the book) Cuarón was extremely dissapointing with some escenas that supposedly were funny but they weren't and many superfluous stuff that could be left out... The only good thing in that one was Dumbledore, because I liked him better than Richard Harris

To me it seems that there is a lot of misdirection.
You can't compare alcohol with illegal drugs, because drinking too much alcohol would be at least the same damage that doing coke, methanphetamines or other drugs...
The point to me that this article should be about is that, there is a substance that equally or more dangerous to the human being and the society and it is legal, so we have to prevent that.
It would be valid if you compared alcohol with tobacco, both are legal and widespread used.
Of course I won't defend either posture, but I saw a chirrotic liver due to alcohol so personally i don't want to have anything to do with it

@sarge <<Also the rescued miners didn't stink as badly as they would have, thanks to the cool underwear the Japanese sent them, plus, they were feeling genkier than they would have, thanks to the kuroame sweets the Japanese sent them.>>
Hahaha, you made my day sarge!... although the mayority of health problems were mouth (dental) problems... maybe there were too much sweets....

@globalwatcher It's not that, I appreciate the effort of those experts, but there are many people that are from different countries and they are not recognized because they are Americans, or because the capsule was German design or that the other drill was Australian.
Geotec Boyles bros, is a firm has been in Chile since 1961... I'm proud of them because my brother-in-law works for that company here in the Antofagasta Region, so it is not animosity towards them, I said before, I appreciate the work of mr Hart, but I prefer to give more recognition to the people from NASA that came to help.

Sarge, Smithinjapan don't argue.
Thank you Sarge for your comments, I guess it is funny that they are arguing about who comes last, but it is said today that there are going to descend two teams of rescuers, and they will come out last.
This story, which has touched the whole world, demonstrates that there are still things that we can be proud of, it really touches me, because I work for Codelco, and it makes me feel proud that we have such amazing underground mining engineers... although I work at an open pit mine, still I'm amazed...

HA HA HA!!! While it's true that some smokers will quit after cigarretes are more expensive, the consumption of them will only drop a bit. So it is a sur way to ensure more income from the taxes of these products. In my country, they did the same thing, the hike was between 40% and 50% of the original price, and did you know what happened? nothing, people continued to smoke, one of the brand tested new flavours during that period and people still was hooked up. I'm a smoker, and yes, an addict to nicotine, I don't ever plan to quit, you can think of me what you like, But I will never impose my smoking on you, If you don't like smoking and you are my guest at my house I will not smoke in front of you, I don't try to convince you to smoke, nor I expect to you to try to convince me to quit. If the government want to protect the well being of citizens, they can apply measures such as: Not machine vendors, where a child can buy cigarretes, don't allow stores to sell cigarretes to minors, forbid to smoke in public spaces (convention centers, malls, restaurants, public bathrooms, etc), make raids to people to quit for one day, etc... But of course, these measures mean less profits to tobacco companies and also less income from these taxes....

I couldn't agree more with ReikiZen.
I want to watch this movie "inception", partly because of Leo, but mostly because it was directed by Christopher Nolan. And Leo is a good actor, I love him in "Gangs of New York" and "The Aviator" and "Catch me if You can" It took me a while to look at him past a pretty face from titanic (I think he does not do well in that one), but he earned "my respect" as an actor, since I saw him in "Total eclipse" and "This Boy's life"

It was batman begins, but it was directed by Chris Nolan, so maybe that's why Watanabe san was chosen for this movie... I noticed that Chris Nolan has a tendency for favorites... Christian Bale was in "The Prestige" and then the two batmans...

el buda:
While it is true that there are people desperate because they have lost it all (their home, no food, money, no electricity and water) one can view this looting as as natural consequence of this devastating earthquake.
What the mayor and other authorities are complaining about and forced to declare "state of emergency" and establish curfew is the fact while decent people are in the streets with no homes there are also a lot of criminals (prisons went down too) in the streets, vandals, robbers etc, and these people are looting stuff to sell or just looting as vandalism (what it is the objective of robbing a flour mill, and then set fire on it?), the state of chaos created is incredible and even though there are few casualties compared with the magnitude of the quake (which says a lot about building codes) the systems designed to face these kind of catastrophe is imperfect, with slow responses in some areas or planning with limited or no foreseable escenarios in these kind of situations.
Ah!, el buda, when you say "they have no help from Santiago" is not true entirely, Santiago was also damaged by the quake, they need to assess the extend of the damage and organize quickly how to send help. There are no refuges in Concepción (i mean large buildings to receive people) or places where to channel the help, also, the roads might prevent a fast delivery, the airports are not damaged extensively, but you cannot rush to send a hercules plane with stuff (food, diapers, blankets, etc) because you have to collect it first and assess if the plane can take off and then reach the place...

OK, If you just look at only Concepción city, if you look for the whole province of Concepcion it counts as 1004563 people. Talca province is about 407563, Santiago is 6 million.(source: National Statistics Institute of Chile)
The death toll is low for now, but the reported damnified people is more than two million in the central and south regions of Chile.
LostinNagoya: The magnitude is 8.8 (Chile) vs 7 in Haiti I cannot see why is 900 times more powerful
