If junta wants donations for reconstruction work, it should ask mainly from it's best mates China, Russia, Thailand and India.....after all, over the last decade, these countries benefit enormously from the military regime at the cost of us, the majority Burmese.

While Chinese leaders are asking for 3.3 million tents for their quake victims,....Myanmar's generals want CASH, before the basic need for the victims being fulfilled.

I absolutely agree with "Athlete". Generals are telling the world that the emergency rescue efforts is over. OVER?? while 2.5 millions are still under monsoon rain without shelters, thousands dying of thirst, lack of food and diseases but still haven't seen a shred of help from government, let alone international aid.....Myanmar's…

Where have you seen such resistance from a so-called government, profoudly resisted to save it's own people from dying by the thousands ? Gen.Than Shwe has made this humanitarian tregady into a political game. The first part of the disaster was natural disaster. But the second part is purely…

Twenty days after the cyclone Nagis ,which claimed more than 133,000 lives and made 2.5 million homless and hungry, Myanmar junta is still bargaining with the UN & the rest of the world, restricting international aid from reaching the victims. IF THERE IS ANY PARTY POLOTICIZING THIS MASSIVE HUMAN TRAGEDY,…

Myanmar people's lives depend upon a 76-year-old, demented general, who is remarkably xenophobic and paranoiac. For S.G.Than Shwe, saving millions of lives is not as important as retifying his draft constitution (which enshrines the military rule), which took the military 15 years to complete. On May the 10th, one week…

When the time is due for the UNSC to inspect the disaster zone in person, the junta MUST STOP forcing out the villagers sheltering in Bogalay, Laputta,Kun-gyan-kone refuge centres. Hundreds of these villagers were given 20,000 kyats($20) and 6 kilo of rice per family and forced to go back to…

What kind of so-called, country's leader refuses to take phone calls, ignored letters from the "United Nation's General Secretary", offering help and assistance ? I wonder. A doctor in aid group headed by Abbot of Sitagu, who came back from Ka-don-Ka-Ni area, told us what he saw. Half the villagers…
