Just to verify, my computers have core 2 duo processors. One has 4gb ram, the other 2gb. Windows 7 should run perfectly, but it doesn't. It clicks whirs, fizzes, freezes and crashes the same as Windows always has. I only use Windows for a few things, so I know there aren't lots of power hungry apps running in the background. It's just second rate.

Japan does an awful lot of 'Embracing the Japanese aesthetic'. Self-obsessed? Narcissistic? Could be.

I have previously enthused about Windows 7, but now that I'm more used to it, I find it just as annoying as XP. It can't do more than one thing at once without seriously slowing up.

Buggery is a legal term, and is a bona fide English word not restricted to the British Isles. It has an interesting etymology, deriving from the French word for Bulgarian, after a sect of Bulgarian monks devoted to sodomy. In humans, buggery refers to anal intercourse, but with congress between animals and humans, bestiality, buggery can mean either anal or vaginal intercourse.

All of you who can't understand this crime haven't done enough soul searching. Everyone is capable of terrible things; it's part of being human. We survive by co-operating and refusing to act on our urges, but by not acknowledging them at all we are more likely to succumb to them.

Nice idea, but why have a dedicated gadget? Give it some whistles and bells to justify the expense. While it's true that reading on an iphone, ipod touch or even a laptop is not the best of experiences, when the e-reader is of an equivalent price but with only one function, most people will baulk. Contrary to what popular opinion, avid readers are not the moneyed elite.

Don't really care either way. If Tokyo had a decent orbital road system, Narita would be a much better proposition, but with either option you have to drive through Tokyo on a toll road at a crawl, which is an affront to my ketchi sensibilities.
