A determined burglar would dope the dog and climb in through the door. I doubt many of the burglars in Japan are junkies, so they might actually think things through.

I think on the one hand restaurant guides help to inform the public about good eateries, and also do a good service to the establishments included within them, but on the other hand they are restrictive, in that they can't possibly cover every single restaurant and those that aren't included may get unjustly ignored. Also, depending on the judging criteria, the reviews are likely to be subjective and biased in some way, so can't really be trusted.

Well, Kurosawa's film's are excellent, as are Miyazaki's animations, but the general run-of-the-mill flick is terrible, just like Hollywood or any other country. There are probably 2 or 3 good films made every year, with 1 or 2 excellent films coming out every couple of years; consistent with the size of the industry here.

If it were up to me, I'd have my body put in bin-bags and thrown out with the trash. There's a power station in Sweden where they incinerate dead rabbits for fuel. They could just chuck me in there. It's strange how bothered religion is about corpses, when the spirit has gone and all that's left is just meat. In fact, if I die young and fairly disease free, it would be nice if my family and friends could cook me up and eat me. Then I'd know that something of me would live on after I was gone.

Tokyo Sky Tree would be confusing for the locals, wouldn't it? They would think it was a bird or the gate of a shrine.

The paparazzi are the preachers of the cult of celebrity. Use privacy laws as strictly as possible against them, whilst at the same time banning the use of paparazzi images in tabloids. Instead, let them point their lenses at politicians. Interestingly, the paparazzi don't seem to have as much power in Japan as in other countries. You never read about or see nip-slip photos of Japanese celebrities and we only see the embarrassing telephoto lens images when the media have decided it's time to go in for the kill, rather than all the time and any time as in the rest of the world. Perhaps there's something to be said for giving away 90% of your earnings to your agent after all.
