  By the way, isn't there a way to keep track of threads on this site? No "subscribed threads" or whatever? How do you keep track of the threads you're interested in or commented on?

  For those of you who see prostitution as a job that those 'poor' women are taking because there's nothing better available, try a little social experiment.

  Go to any sex industry part of town, you'll see the girls walking around easily enough, and tell them how sorry you feel for their plight. Then tell them you run your own restaurant and are willing to help them out by offering them a job waiting tables for 800 yen an hour. Surely, they will JUMP at the chance for a real and respectable job!

  "Listen, honey. I know you don't really want to do this. Why not come work for me and you can make in a month what you make in three days here?" LOL

  Looking at most of the comments on this page... no, the entire site, in fact, I can only wonder if Japan started issuing Idiot Visas in the past few years. LOL

  What is it that makes it so damn sad if one species DID go extinct anyway? Yeah, perhaps if all fish were to disappear we'd have a serious problem. Or even all tuna. But can anyone please explain how the disappearance of the Bluefin would make any difference to the world? (And the fact is that it wouldn't actually ever make it to 'extinction' anyway. There would eventually reach a point where the remaining Bluefin could not be found and they would replenish over time.)

  My God, why can't environmentalists get a life of their own instead of harassing others to death? Never heard of evolution? The resistance to change and attempts to control nature are laughable. Applies to whales, global warming, etc.

  The world changes. Get used to it. It's not the same as polluting all the drinking water in the world, so stop acting like it is.

  MINKES ARE NOT ENDANGERED! That's all there is too it.

  Now if you insist on accusing them of killing endangered animals, then change your argument to "WE WANT THEM TO STOP KILLING ENDANGERED WHALES, BUT TO KILL MINKES IS OK".

  This is the only argument that can be accepted with any validity whatsoever. Go ahead, I dare you to be rational.
