benhur- art has LOADS of limits or we could call your JT post art. If anything can be considered art than art becomes meaningless. Turntable music is plagiarized riffs that real musicians created on real instruments. Its as much an art form as is your ability to push the buttons to select songs for your i pod.

Comparing a turntable to a Fender is like comparing a DVD burner to a 1930s three strip technicolored camera. Without the one, there would not be the other. (or not the other as we know it). A fender creates music, a turntable plays what the other creates. Kind of like Tarantino.

You can cry freedom of expression about anything. And a person should be allowed to express themselves. Poor taste is something all together different and a national chain store needs to be aware of things that are in really poor taste. A Nazi uniform depicting a swastika with Heil Hitler on the packaging is in as much poor taste to Jewish people as a Buraku costume would be to Japanese.

Well I dont think there is anyone alive today who remembers their grandparents being murdered by Conquistadors, The swastika is STILL used in this day and age as a symbol of hatred and racism. The idea of ethnic cleansing is still happening in the world and its not comedy. There is absolutely a line between hyper sensitivity and a good joke. A Nazi costume crosses it, quite obviously as they are pulling the product.

@dentshop, apparently opinions matter quite a bit, namely the Simon Wiesenthal Centers-hence the response from Don-Qui and subsequently this article. i imagine that if people just took a deep breath and gave up before even expressing there opinions, then unbelievably stupid companies would continue to do unbelievably stupid things.

The only tools i see are the conspiracy theory posters trying to make an entertaining action series into something more than it actually is. 24 has no government or pentagon connections. Hollywood writers are left winged, pizza consuming, ivy league, underpaid man boys...and lucky as hell.

GW That wasnt my experience at all. I went into Century 21, looked at alot of houses in my price range and had to get my National health insurance updated for the banks to consider me, but I had three banks offer loans with fixed rates. I took a 1.9 percent and a 17 year mortgage. My home was built in 1975 and was approved by 3 banks. I live in a suburb between 2 major cities and in walking distance of a major shopping district and trainline. My experience was easy and i am 100 percent happy to be a home owner.

money money money. English is money. they dont give a damn about teaching English, they just want your money!!! Its just more exploitation that produces 0 results. We can express our opinions about what age etc.etc. all we want to, but the minds behind this product couldnt care less. Just another greedy Japanese company trying to exploit the need for English but not giving a rats ass about actually supplying the demand with a real product.

perhaps buying a house as a financial investment is not a good choice but if you want to stay in japan and raise a family and actually LIVE in a house, it is cheaper than renting. If you buy an older house, it can be more than 50 percent cheaper and the interest rates are below 2 percent. There are tons of houses built in the 70s 80s and 90s that can be bought for a few thousand dollars down and monthly payments under 500 bucks/ 5 man a month with a mortgage 20 years and under. Just get out of Tokyo and look. There are so many places to live in Japan. pick a spot you like, talk to a realtor and start looking. If you want to live here that is, not just invest.

What a society indeed that has so much leisure and numbers to speculate on the mental problems and poor, sad histories of those that can no longer chew the leather. Our race is indeed a virus on this planet when we are so overpopulated that even the naturally unselected can lay about while the Knights of the keyboards have such full bellies and nothing better to do than lament the useless masses' poor predicaments. Everything that happens in your life, everything that you are and have done is one hundred percent your responsibility. It is one hundred percent tied to choices you made.

@ kawachi or "Japan" and "Today"? reality shows are about as real as Japanese Idols are talented.

Its an excellent series of books and an excellent series of movies based on the books. So was the Lord of the Rings. Nobody should expect a movie to cover all that the book does. But if it brings the story to life and creates the magic of the book on screen, then it is worth watching. The HP movies are all endorsed by the author and if you havent watched them all or read the books, then your opinion is based on ignorance and thereby irrelevant.

btw , speeding kills more people than drunk driving, and had this been an officer busted for speeding article, i am sure relief would be felt all around.

@frungy, -had that been the situation, i would not have made my comment. As this circumstance was a victimless crime( telephone pole my apologies), My relief is valid at finally seeing a non sex crime committed by a police officer.
