This cannot end well. 6 years ago, I owned no Apple products. Now I own 2 iPhones, an iPad2, Apple TV and 2 iPods. Soon, most likely Apple will introduce iTV. This product will no doubt, be a game changer for the TV industry, both in terms of hardware and content delivery.
I was a huge Sony fan. I owned the first Walkman and over the years have owned TV's, stereos, and other great products.
Sadly, I have no interest in Sony any more. The only product I own and use with regularity from Sony is a pair of noice-canceling headphones. And although they work great, I still wish I had purchased the Bose headphones instead.
I can't imagine what Sony can do in the TV market that will stem the decline. Especially when consumers are gravitating towards brands like Apple. Apple will integrate all of the devices I already own into the iTV and that will make my ownership experience even better.
I may purchase some peripheral devices such as wireless radio recievers, but probably still not a Sony.
Innovate or die. For Sony, I think it is too late.
