Kronos's past comments

    Zeny11,

You are making a very insensitive comment. I would assume you could be considered responsible from the well (or unwell)-being of your own family but please do not go talking about this "shoganai" approach to people living under such conditions as mentioned in the comment.

The worst part of your comment is, if you stick to that approach, you would be doing nothing to make past mistakes right and leave a better future for coming generations. You would be keeping the status quo.

People also have social responsibilities. When an event like that occurs, one should do all in one's power to make the responsible people pay for their mistakes so that those mistakes are not repeated again. Because in most cases, those who are responsible usually get away with what is done, if there is minimal reaction from those who are affected. Then the cycle repeats itself. Japan is no different than any other place in the world. It is one's duty not just to himself/herself but to the society that he/she lives in, his children and future generations. "Try to better yourself day by day and your surroundings will be stronger for it" is not the same as this.

Maybe your comments do imply what I am talking about, but I just could not see it.

The Irish bonds are indeed junk. Greece restructuring was a default and S&P actually called it so.

Rating agencies were accused of being lax and irresponsible before the crisis. Now they are being accused because they started doing their jobs but governments and banks around the world are panicking.

Back in the days when we both worked at salaried jobs, when I needed money I could borrow with the ATM card, she says. Now I dont know if I should use the bank or dig into my savings.

Your savings? Or do you mean the family's savings? I am sure you were not running a debt without your husband knowing and then trying to pay it off with his salary while never touching a yen of your savings?

    Right?

Oooohhh! I wonder if those tower mansions have generators to keep the elevators running during a power cut.

It is questionable whether social media based marketing is that necessary. On top of that there is the question of user privacy.

I do not think it is a big deal for the J companies to trail their peers in this area. Actually I would prefer if other companies stated away as well.

Well let's see, radiation fears, very strong Yen, more interesting stuff to see in other parts of Asia..hmmm.... not surprising I'd say.

Where are the salaries now compared to a few years ago I wonder? I know quite a few people who took paycuts (me included) in prior years. So a pay rise now may or may not bring them to the previous salary levels.

Also with the Japanese Yen continues to be this strong, I would expect firms to be more stingy with payrolls.

What made Chernobyl a disaster was also the lack of controls on the food chain after the disaster. It seems Japan is also heading in the same direction.

So it is too early to tell.

I do not expect much to happen to be honest. TEPCO's reputation is already in tatters. The biggest stakeholders like the financial institutions usually hold discussions behind closed doors. So do not expect much action.

Settling in empty houses is not an option.

Decreipt they may be, but most of those have owners living somehwhere in Japan. The goverment first has to take those over from their previous owners before even thinking about allocating them to quake victims.

There is no one-size-fits-all truth mate. The fact that we pretend there is one is causing all this mess.

I highly doubt marriage is for mankind also.

People who say stuff like this amaze me! They also go bat**** insane when they find our their partner is banging someone else too.

I would not. I also know some others who would not as well.

People might believe in different things MrDog. What you believe as cheating may not be so to others.

    Cheating as in what?

Remember that sex and love are completely different things. One can love someone with all one's heart but still be interested in other sexually.

Not sure why they got caught. Must have done some procedures wrong. It is rare for such places to be busted in Japan.

Maybe they did not get the blessing of the cops beforehand? :-)

I am with the Japanese government on this one. This is not an easy decision to make. There are debates in Europe to have the governments have the burden of capital expenditure. And I believe we all know what happened in California when companies like Enron manipulated the market. I am not saying the current system is making sense but I am also skeptical about deregulation.

In the news, the company's "special female coworker" could be a living timestamp. Maybe the company is using her to clock the hours of the workers.

I heard couple of years ago that a Japanese megabank has a bell ringing at 1200 and 1300 to signal the beginning and end of the lunch time for employees. Employees cannot leave before the bell and have to be in their seats before the second bell rings.
