People, it will most probably be tax. Forget the bonds.
I am looking at the comments here. You have to keep in mind that the Japanese government does not want to issue more bonds. They already have the world's largest public debt. They do not want to increase it. They also have a shrinking population and will face the pension burden in quite a short future, which will strain their resources.
This new indebtness resulting from the nuclear fallout will last a long time. Noone right now would want to issue new bonds on top of the existing obligations.
So it will most probably be a new tax unless they can think of some other creative way and it will most probably be permenant.

I do not know specifically for child custody laws but if there is a court order for someone not to leave a country, one would assume there would be some sort of a check at the customs.
I am not exactly sure whether the airline company or the customs would be responsible but something looks to have slipped through the cracks.
Posted in: There is a long list of red flags that existed in this case that should have caused the airline and travel agency to do something.

It was inevitable and it will be permenant. Government is trying to finance this cost without getting in more debt to the public. Most probably it will be a separate tax and not an increase of corporate or consumption tax.
I believe Germany did a similar thing when they united with East Germany and charge the people some reconstruction tax.

Guys, these things happen after such disasters. Another thing to watch out for is where you make your donations. Make sure that you send money to eligible places.
I also heard that some firms are getting fake phone calls regarding the personal information of their personnel. e.g. We would like to reach. Could you please provide us the contact information? Be on the lookout for these as well.

According to BBC: "South Korea says it will send some 50 tonnes of its boron reserves to Japan after a request from Tokyo, Reuters reports. The metalloid is vital for stopping fission nuclear reactions in nuclear reactors". Hope it helps.

Do not associate love hotels with people of questionable character. As Cleo pointed out, normal people use them frequently as well for the aforementioned reasons. Also as pointed earlier, they do not sell sex, just provide the place.
I think some people confuse the love hotels in Japan with the seedy establishments found in US or Europe.

Very good idea. I do not about the ones in other cities but the ones I have seen in Tokyo were immaculately clean.
Interesting to note that foreign private equity groups are buying them out for investment actually. They are naming them "Leisure Hotels" so that they look good on the books.

I just cannot get the feeling that this is done out of belief but rather for monetary reasons. Hence I do not believe it will succeed.

I am sick and tired of this debate.
If the healthcare in US is fine the way it is, then move along already.
If it is broken, then try to fix it. If it is broken, then it means that the current system does not work. It has been there for years so there is no logic in following the same method. A new system has to be developed. And it has to be developed soon.
So Obama has suggested a solution. If there are those who do not agree with that, then suggest an alternative. I understand that quite a few people do not agree with Obama. So what are they recommending?
This is healthcare. It should be more important than which party people are supporting.

Why? The person who commits the suicide is not the one who pays the bill.

When I was hunting for a mansion, we ended up in one of those tower mansions. My real estate agent did mention that the flat we were seeing was suspected of a double-suicide (husband and wife) a few years ago.
He also mentioned that although real estate agents are obliged by law to tell their customers whether a suicide has taken place or not, it was very difficult to get such information since landlords usually do not reveal it. The reason being it causes a significant decrease in the price. In this case, my agent had found out about it through his own research and contacts in the business.
