Whoever thought that NK could be trusted to follow through on any agreement in the first place?
All should know that any aid or concession made to NK would be made based upon probably no concession by NK.

Seat cushions acting as a life vest/raft? On AA flights? Hell, I've had instances where I stepped off an AA flight with a sore back and a** due to practically no cushion filling on those seats. You could literally feel the metal seatback through the "cushion".
Those things must be paper thin. I can't imagine it could act as a flotation device for any grown adult...

With the rate of obesity in the US, I'm not sure how an ultra-compact car may fare... not only will there be a hard time getting into and out of the car, I'm sure the acceleration would suffer.
It was always weird seeing some of the largest people driving Ford Festivas back in the days.

Solicitors and Attorneys (if with diverse practise).
During good times, you handle transactions; during bad times, you handle bankruptcy/reorgansation proceedings and/or litigations.

Also, soon as the Big 3 die off, the parasite (UAW) that killed its host will need to leech on to a new host, and the first target would be the foreign automaker transplants in the US.

The UAW should've been dissolved and all three boards of the Big 3 should've been required to resign before any cash went to them.
We'll be re-approaching another bail-out request in approximately 3 months.

A case of the parasite (UAW) killing its host (Big 3).
Enjoy the last drop of the blood, UAW.

"People with no understanding of the industry are best advised to sit this one out. "
As such, the Big 3 bailout should have been conditioned upon the resignations of the heads of all 3 companies and the head of UAW.

Forget the bailout. Let them file for bankruptcy protection. Unless they file Chapter 11, the companies aren't going to be able to break the union contracts. So long as the UAW is there, it will suck away any bailout money and profits and it will be just a waste of taxpayers' money. Perfect case of the parasite killing its host.
Let nature run its course, if the consumers want GM, Ford or Chryslers that badly, then it will survive in the long run. Otherwise, let them join Zenith and Pan Am (RIP).

So long as the UAW is there and the current management is there, giving them bailout money is only going to be throwing away taxpayers' money.
Let them hang dry for a while, let them file Chapter 11, let them break the UAW contracts and shed the legacy costs first. Let the market decide if people want GM, Ford and Chrysler to be around in the future. Otherwise, let them go the route of Zenith, Pan Am, et. al.
